    the WORST branch of all.!! This branch has a HABIT of keeping the customers waiting.!!!!! I pulled over the drive thru to deposit and I told the lady to give me a minute to fill out the deposit slip she seems so unhappy about it and starts doing something without looking at me she had me wait for almost 10min!!! Unbothered to look at me , another lady came instead and took my deposit and again there's NO customer there inside or outside but me !!! HORRIBLE !!! I was banking in this bank for more than 15 yrs since it was still Astoria, and the only reason why I'm still using this is the convenience of it next to the subway nothing else, but i will close my account because this branch is really getting WORST and I had enough it's insane !

    Came in a few days ago to see if I can have something waived for an unexpected payment going through my account, Spoke to the manager VIEJA who first off asked if I was a “prospect client”, (way to make it obvious some people get special treatment than others) Stated to her that this is my first time asking for a fee to be waived since opening my account more than 5+ years ago, and if they are able to do a courtesy just this once. Manager VIEJA Refused and said since it is not an error the bank has made, fee will not be waived. I asked if I was a “prospect client” would the fee have been waived, she responded “perhaps” and said it’s not possible. I ended up calling Webster customer service, asked if they were able to do anything with my situation and without hesitation they waived what I asked and resolved my issue Manger VIEJA should know how to be discreet when it comes to handling customers “prospect” or not so it’s not as obvious who u pick and choose to waive fees. Bare minimum she could have done is give alternatives solutions to see how my issue would be resolved. Instead I had to go out of my way dialing the 1-800 number to see if they can help me out due to her refusal and incompetence and lack of good customer service. Came to the conclusion she just didn’t want to even bother with me. Avoid this branch at all cost, shame it used to be a better institution with better management.

    This bank really needs help im a third generation banker here from since they were Astoria bank and irs very upsetting after all these years they still haven't been able to be incompetent. Im a very frastrated customer management needs to get involved everyone have the same constant conplain how come you guys dont look into more staffs or training???

    I am not sure what is the main problem with this branch is but every time I come here they take forever with their service, whether it’s the drive thru window or in person. I waited about 20 mins in line even though there was just one person ahead of me and 3 tellers. There shouldn’t be any excuse as to why they are so slow with theirs service because the other branches I have been to are super fast and efficient. Very disappointed with how they’re doing business.

    If you want something done speak to the head of the bank cause it took me over an hour to get a small issue resolved

    Listen avoid this bank, my Mom is 90 years old and she use to do her banking PreCovid. I am trying to close the account, the teller told me I have to come in the bank ( I was doing drive through), but the catch is they close at 2pm. I said to her , I leave work at 3pm. She looked at me as if I had multiple faces, and was talking to me in a strong tone. I asked her if I must send my Mom to do the transaction, she shrugged her shoulder. Did we come to a resolution? Did she provide any type of assistance? She told me to do it on my day off- Really if I had a day off would we be having that conversation? Resolution-none Distress— come soon and close it or you will be charged. Thanks for nothing. Do they give 1/4 star rating?- gosh

    Sterling banks response is “ Thank you for giving us the chance to improve by providing us with this.” So why does service get worse? I understand times are difficult. Does that mean customer service has to suck that bad. Come on guys, you can do better and if you can’t, just simply stay home.

    This is THE WORST BANK EVER. Such a lazy staff. They’re the main reason I closed all my accounts. For instance, I had a safe deposit box and every time I tried to access it, they would just so happen to lose the signing in card for MY deposit card out of all other people! Then, they make it mandatory to do auto pay for my deposit box fee when I preferred paying by cash. On top of it all, when I went to sign in at the customer service desk to actually close my accounts yesterday, one of the staff members deliberately crossed out my name without calling it out. I was skipped over purposefully. It’s shameful how the staff at this bank targets people who make a stand persist them to do their job instead of sitting around and being lazy. If you want good service from a bank, I recommend TD or Citibank. Seriously!

    Terrible! They won't even let me withdraw my own money from my account without a passport even though all my ID's that were provided have been verified on their system... Manager is incompetent. This is going to be the sole reason I close my account and go to Chase instead. Bye

    I don't have an account with this bank, but on several occasions followed my roommate to this bank and all the time visited, the tellers are slow, rude and lack customer service. All customers, TD Bank at 188th Street, Hillside Avenue are good with customer service and very convenient. Do yourself a favour, close your account with Sterling and go to TD Bank
