I have had nothing but positive experiences from this Credit Union. I was a bit skeptical when they merged with Chesterfield Federal Credit Union, yet after the merger, I continued to receive the same service I had come to appreciate. When I was getting ready to open a business account, I had considered going elsewhere, but the folks at this branch have been so kind and helpful that I opened by business account there. While there was a period of time in which check deposits were delayed in their availability, once I got past that period of time, every deposit has been smooth. One of the ladies there even recommended a simple account change that helped me earn a sliver more interest than the account when I started it. I don't regret my decision at all. My little one likes them as well. Every time I visit, they always give her a lollypop without even having to ask. It may sound trivial, but it makes my daughter's day when she gets them. While most of my banking through VaCU is online now, when I visit a branch, this is the one I prefer.
Awesome! Thank You Kevin! Your referral of Virginia Credit Union is very much appreciated!

We've had great personal service as we've opened additional accounts for ourselves and our kids. For a more specific recent example, last week my college-student son got hit with 2 fees for insufficient funds because he paid his Discover card manually when the auto payment didn't go thru on the scheduled date. Then it went thru and he went negative. Discover refunded the extra payment but wouldn't do anything towards the $55 in credit union fees it generated. They offered to waive some of their fees or cancel an equivalent amount of interest, to make up for it, but he didn't have any because he's been very responsible. He was trying to be responsible again and proactive in manually paying, and this happened. We went in to our VaCU branch and explained. We were told the manager would review the situation but that they generally only refund fees if it was their error, HOWEVER we were pleased and grateful when the fees were reversed. He's 19 and just works part time in retail, so $55 is a pretty big deal. Very satisfied with the products and services offered!

I normally have a good customer experience at this particular branch. Today was not the same. On this transaction I was asked for my account number which seemed a bit uncomfortable. I normally just give my bank car and I.D. and I'm all set .I consider my account number to be very confidential and to just blurt it out for a possibility for others to hear is not safe and made me feel very uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, every time I come in here for a simple transaction or an honest question about banking, the responses are short, and frankly feel condescending. I never leave this branch feeling better than when I went in. I really don’t know why there’s not even an average amount of warmth and positivity from the tellers I see there.

This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Their fees are ridiculous and their customer service is even worse. The Chesterfield Federal Credit Union did their members an injustice by merging. They don’t even deserve a star in my opinion.

People are so friendly and yet, get serious when you least expect them to ..........
S
I love coming here, they always have the friendliest people working when I come in.

Terrible people skills here, no interest in the small saver, fees and charges make this a bad place for someone looking to improve their situation over time.
H
Seriously clueless. They take forever to do anything. Go elsewhere
