    Today 1/14/22, I went into this branch in concord, California. First off, I did not feel welcomed there. As soon as I walked in, an older lady was on the phone who gave me a dirty look (me African American). I thought to myself, Nah, so I looked at her again, and yes, she looked up and gave me another dirty look. So a gentleman says, hi, I can help you. What can I do for you? My words to him were I wanted to deposit a check for $8000. You can see where the problem is right there. A black man with an $8000 check So. He asks for my id. I give him my id it's taking him forever on the computer. He proceeds to tell me that the numbers are a bit funny on the check and that those are red flags. I'm keeping it cool because I know I'm in Concord. So he goes to get the branch manager, and she tells me that they can only give me $225 out of the $8000 and that there would be a 7-day hold on the money. They legit looked at me as someone trying to bounce a fake check Unbelievable. Unify customer service told me that usually, it's a 2-3 day hold, so I knew then something was funny. I went over to Provident credit union had no issue. If you're a person of color, avoid this branch at all cost

    Nothing wrong with the physical location, they're wonderful people I'm sure. I've had this bank for almost 4 years now, no complaints. Until they started to delay posting my debit transactions or slip in a little NSF fee here and there without me really noticing. I noticed they got me for $150 in the past 6 months because on payday, they post all of my auto-pay and debit transactions before processing my paycheck, even though the paycheck technically went in first at midnight. I logged in today and a debit transaction for $200 for Walmart magically disappeared and they let me spend it again. It's not really noticable if it's small increments, but I did a personal audit and they also got me for $0.32 "international fee" (I didn't buy anything internationally, although I always get stuff from China on Amazon without any trouble) little odd charges here and there, along with the way they intentiionally post money out before money in so they can skim their fee off the top. I switched to Chime, no fees.

    (ex-bank officer writing:) I've been very happy with the service I receive in the branches and over the phone. I was down to my last actual dollar once and a representative stayed on the phone with me for twenty minutes to transfer $5 from here, $3.50 from there to be able to make a transaction from my checking account. In person they're willing to listen and waive fees if appropriate. Love Unify.

    This has to be one of the greatest branches of one of the finest financial institutions this country has ever seen. UNIFY offers so many great services and extremely competitive interest rates for CDs and loans. It has been my experience that this branch adheres to the highest standards of customer service. They always take great care in positively addressing needs, and I have come to be on a first name basis with many who work there. It feels great when you are greeted by Unify representatives who genuinely know you; it makes you feel appreciated and valued as a customer. When my partner and I purchased out first home near the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we faced many challenges in those chaotic times, but the branch manager, Rima, moved heaven and earth to help us. Rima secured us a loan and saved us over $8,000. I will never be interested in going to another bank because Rima and her team are the best there is.

    Customer service goes beyond what i would have ever expected from any bank i have ever been to. They took care of my unique situation in a very professional manner .We are lucky to have this neighborhood bank here in concord.

    Go to Patelco or Travis just not here...Decided to go by and apply for a refinance of our car, upon giving all our info and opening an account the guy helping (Pritat) said we're in the 90% for approval and he will call us by 9am next day. 12pm next day not a word and when we finally get him to answer he says we need more info, such as employer stuff, electric bills etc to reapply and approve it although we did all that and he said we're 90% expecting to pass..excuses if you ask me when he said himself we make twice what the cars worth and it wont be a problem. Now we have like 5 problems trying to get it finalized what a joke.

    They continue to make mistakes since i have been with them. Example i handed a check to the lady at tcounter she saw i was in a rush so she said just give me your check i know who you are ill deposite it since i go in there every week if not more for months. So i do so and it never got cashed she put it with all the checks that did but never actually cashed it. So i had to go through a bunch of trouble to find it with the bank and fix there mistake but when they make a mistake there is no fee of course. More mess up examples are i applied for a used car loan got it and found a car gave them all the paper work they needed and they said after about 2 buisness day the paper work should be processed and good to go. Well the banker i was dealing with forgot a document from dmv i brought her in her desk for a week and after i came down there saying dmv has not recived amything saying this car is now in my name or your name as in the bank and they try figuring out why they call around they figure out why its because a certin document never got sent over and of course they look around the bank and they find the document in her desk she set it in there forgot about it and never sent it over to finish the paper work so i was driving around in a car that wasent mine even though i was paying for it. Just 2 of the many mistakes they have made since i have been with them and i have only been there a year maybe a little over thats it. And they have changed names 2 since.

    The people that work here are great and do everything they can to help you out, But the bank itself since they were taken over by western is a bunch of crooks. They put fees on everything that was free and if a check is cashed on your account they put a hold for the amount on the account and cash the check for the same amount so its basicly a double charge for a few days and if it overdrafts because of this they charge you a $60 fee and they even do it if the check or electronic payment is to another account within there own branch. Im changing banks because every time I turn around I have to make shure I have double the money in my account for any transactions I have to do and its VERY irritating just to pay some bills or order supplies for my self employed buisness. Its like having to live like im broke so I know I can cover my buisness costs untile everything I need for the month is cleared through them and doing this with 5 kids and daily costs of living is to much work.
