Not sure what happened with the few negative reviews, but we have had nothing but top-notch, professional, and courteous experiences in the 9 months we have been using TN Connect. Always a person answers the phone promptly. Usually, that person knows the answer to your question. If not, transferring is quick. The branch manager Caroline at the Seymour branch and Sharon from the mortgage department are both awesome! Highly recommend.

You do not want this bank handling your money. My first contact with them was a phone call requesting information as to what all they would need from me to open a new account, being as I was moving to TN from KY. The lady was incredibly rude, indicating that if I didn't have proof of residency I couldn't open an account, that I needed a TN license and a KY license wouldn't suffice - she hated her job and thus clients. I had a single week between the transition to get my affairs in order before I began my new job. I had anything and everything else that could confirm my identity, you name it. I gave the bank the benefit of the doubt and instead went to the actual branch the following Monday. While i could tell the girl assisting me seemed new and somewhat uninformed when it came to opening an account, she did what she could trying. My drawback on her? She had me sign a sheet indicating my credit would be ran, despite the fact I was NOT applying for any loan services. I confirmed therefore it would be a soft inquiry, not a hard inquiry, as I have superb credit that I take pride in. No.... I got hit with a hard inquiry. Yeah, thanks for that. All told, I opened a checking account, a savings account, AND a money market account with funds that were not to be touched. I also planned on moving an IRA CD over shortly. Next? She provided me my routing and account number for purposes of allowing me to input into my pay accounts. The following day I updated such on my end and made small payments from each to ensure accuracy. THE FUNDS WERE TAKEN FROM THE SACRED MONEY MARKET ACCOUNT!!! This account number and information should have NEVER been made available. It had a very large sum given the recent sale of my home and I wanted it separate and apart from everything else to protect it from any possible threat. Clearly they did not place any value on ensuring its protection. And getting this corrected?? That took a phone call, a call back on their end..... And when they didn't do what they said as far as moving the transactions from money market to checking, I personally walked in to get it taken care of. But wait, there's more and it continues to get worse. 3 weeks had passed and they still had not released or made available the funds in my account. Good thing I deposited cash too!! Regardless, I remained patient. Finally I called and I could write a book on that subject too. In sum, they would not release the hold ON A CERTIFIED BANK CHECK for another week. UNACCEPTABLE. Completely unacceptable. It's not like I came from out of the country; the bank check was from another credit union in Kentucky, with open hours and the ability to easily reach a human. I advised the lady with TN Connect I was on my way to close my accounts in their entirety and she had 10 minutes to make MY money available. I demanded that she call the credit union the check was written from, even provided her my prior member ID, to confirm its validity. At first she was reluctant and then agreed and guess what?! Yes. Legit check. Great, but I'm still closing my accounts. I should not have had to instruct someone of her level to make such a simple phone call given the excessive time frame that had passed. She does NOT need to be in any management position or any role for that matter wherein she is the face of a business and one to assist clients. She is Carolyn. I arrived at bank as I said I would. They would not open the door, instead motioned I "drive." I shook my head no. For 3 minutes I stood at the door while 2 employees inside walked around, rummaged around, not once more looking up to address me or acknowledge me. You can imagine my frustration. This bank is open and now I'm being ignored. I go to drive thru and The sweet lovely Carolyn is who I'm greeted with. She has me sign a few documents for closure and promptly writes me a large 5 figure check. Protect your money and take it elsewhere.

Tn Connect has my car loan. They beat everyone's interest rates, even my banking institution where I have been for 20 plus years. Recently, I got a small car loan for my niece through TN Connect. Worked with Carolyn Kyte for the 2nd car loan. She was extremely attentive to my needs and treated me as if I was borrowing big bucks! I highly recommend TN Connect and hope to do more business with them soon! Thank you for your excellent customer service!!

Great folks to work but can be inconvenient. I’m used to my previous credit union where most everything could be done over the phone or online. Other than that very good service and helpful.

    Response from the owner

Ms Moore, what service were you unable to perform over the phone or online. We are always looking for ways to improve. Thanks.

I think it is a bad business that charges you for closing a checking or savings account, it is your money and they are keeping it from you when you close your account.

    Response from the owner

We apologize for your confusion pertaining to the $5.00 fee—this charge is for closing your membership, not for just closing a checking or savings account. Since your loan came to us from an auto dealership, the credit union absorbed the $5.00 cost of opening your membership, which is required at any credit union. All funds over and above the $5.00 membership amount were returned. We did appreciate having you as a member.

Very difficult institution to deal with. The manager I spoke with should not be in a management position as she does not effectively know how to deal with customers who keep her employed.
