First - to all of the negative reviewers about this branch, I have a few things to say. WITHOUT an account, the answer is NO to all of the ridiculous attempted services without a fee. You cannot simply cash check without a fee, NO you can’t exchange coins for cash and NO, you can’t use a foreign ATM without a fee! This is true at ALL banks. I love how people without accounts, or have an account with probably less than $100 (insert eye-roll here) have the overwhelming need to leave negative reviews for a local business! It’s just crazy to me! GO TO YOUR OWN BANK and you’ll be able to get these services done without an issue...or have you already tried, and it doesn’t work there either? UNBELIEVABLE! Now, for my review. I have been banking at TD Bank for years, both in the United States and I also hold accounts in another country as well. The staff here is incredible. Always very courteous and helpful, always ready to offer guidance or reverse a fee if I’ve made a mistake etc. I get that during this COVID pandemic the wait times have been a little longer, as is true for ALL BANKS. I’ve learned that patience on my end allows for a positive experience every time for everyone. We left Plainville, CT in 2013 and moved to Chicago and subsequently, we now reside in Florida - while we do have local TD branches here that have always been very helpful, I still call this branch for some of my more in-depth banking needs and conduct business out of this branch whenever I am in town. Both the Manager and the Assistant Manager have always been willing to assist me with all of my transactions without any issues. Thank you to both Fabienne and Matt, both of whom have been the leaders in this branch for a little over a year. Your service continues to be outstanding and your staff is always pleasant. Thank you for your great leadership and always providing outstanding service. It’s disheartening to only see 2-stars next to this TD branch location - but when you take the time to read the details behind the poor score, you can see that it isn’t a true reflection of the branch or its’ staff. It has to do with the ridiculous transaction requests from non-account holders whose expectations, it seems to me, to belong to a class of people who believe they are “entitled”. Frankly, this country has a growing problem with people who feel entitled. To the “entitled” nay-sayers, move on. To those wanting a great customer experience and are looking for a local business to support, I would encourage you to open an account here and get to know the staff, you won’t be disappointed!

After calling the bank for an appointment, I was told there was a 20 minute wait....fine I'll wait. After 45 minutes the manager came out to say they had technical difficulties and they had another appt and could not see me. They take a look at my passbook and told me I can easily close my account through the drive through. After another 30 min wait at the drive they could not close my account and now have to come back

PLAINVILLE (123 East main) TD bank location As I sat in the drive through waiting for 10 minutes as I watched the inside workers help 4 people who walked in the door AFTER I arrived at the drive through window. I push the button and the woman comes over clearly annoyed. The worker lady then tells me sorry we’re backed up. (No your not, your just serving the walk ins while the drive through(4 cars waiting) sits and waits. She sensed I was not happy with that clearly false excuse and after taking my slip she places it on the counter to appease me and walks away and starts servicing more walk ins first for another 7 minutes?! Once she finally helps me says sorry we have a computer down yet the two workers were helping walk-in customers just fine. Clearly she’s just choosing to keep the people in the lobby serviced first. Why not say that instead of standing there lying? Strange to me. I expressed my frustration letting her know she and her co-worker helped 5 other customers who walked in AFTER I arrived at the window. She said she thought the other worker helped me? Nonsense. She just looked at me in disapproval as I am unreasonable like she was satisfied. I will use my other bank now and start shifting my business elsewhere. Ended up taking almost 20 minutes for a 2 min cash withdrawal. (Yes cars started beeping in the drive through) it was one of those obviously painful long stuck in line waits. SOLUTION: .....simply help who was in line next wether inside the lobby or at the drive through window. Wether you have 2 computers or 20 computers. Best luck hope this helps your business get on track. I will not go back.

Poor service and attitude. My own fault for stopping in...this bank was on my way. Since when do you need an account to change dollars for quarters? Wanted 2 rolls for a 20. Was asked for my debit card. I said I don't have an account here. The response from the male training the new girl was "why don't you have an account with us?". That's your sales pitch? No thanks. Then the woman explained, " we have to run the transaction through your account, that's why we can't make change for non customers." Really? First Niagara and BofA do it all the time without asking if I have an account. Am I a customer? Not an account holder but a community member who could have become an account holder, however after this experience I promise I will not return to nor will I recommend TD Bank. I may sound petty but this could have been a simple positive experience and they made it a crappy one.

I had a wonderful experience at this location. The teller was polite, courteous and very pleasant to deal with. They did have to charge me for my currency exchange but that's fair. My Teller Shaniqua had a great personality and when she answered the phone she had the best customer service answer I had heard!

TD Bank in Plainville is the worst place I have ever been in. I been there a total of 3 time. The first 2 were through the drive-thru and since I dont have an account I have to pay $7 out of the check I was cashing. Which was fine. This time I was going in to cash a check and to ask about opening a business account. The vibe I got from the man who greeted me seemed push as if he was not wanting to be working... he asked what he could do to help. I said I have to cash a check. He quickly asked if I had an account and I said no. Before I could even utter another word he said well it's a $7 fee. I decided I'd do the transaction and be done. He seemed as if I was entrupting him. He asked for my ID which I provided. He asked for a second form of ID so I gave him my Webster atm card. The same second form I used 2 other times at this very same location. The card is old and the back is rubbed down. He said he couldnt use it. Because the signature was no longer there. I explained I been there doing the same transaction a few other times and used it with no problems. I also explained I need to pay a bill and had cash the check there so I can deposit cash in to my Webster account. Could i sign the back atm so he can read it. He said no sorry. I asked for my ID and the check and before giving me the items be marked the check. I asked why would he write on it...He said he had to mark it because rejected it. So it was useless. Now I have to go back to my client explain this and I will do everything I can to make sure they change their bank as well anyone else I can. #TDBank #TotalDisgrace poor customer service and they careless about the community.
