Dropped off my taxes with my family in February and they are still not done yet. Have called each month asking about the status and was told that I would be called back when they are finished. It is now almost July. Called today and was told the tax person HASNT EVEN STARTED them. 4 months later. Now I am subject to being fined for not making the deadline. This is ridiculous and absolutely unnecessary. Do not do business with this company if you want your taxes actually done. I will be going elsewhere next year, and so will my family.

Been over a month since sending taxes in. Have got no response. No help. Absolutely useless place. Try to call and their mailbox is full. Can't even leave a message. Their hours are absurd. Closed friday thru Sunday. The person doing the taxes is in florida so you can't visit them and get a face to face. Take my advice and go anywhere else. 3 calls and not one were returned. Worst place and their 2.8 rank is to high. I'd pay to never have sent my taxes here. Literally I'd PAY to never have done business with these slackers.

I went to Tax Pro to make sure things got done fast and correctly. With 1 W2 and no extra paperwork, I thought it would be relatively cheap. Boy was I wrong. $300+ to be taken out of my refund. Wow, that's a bit much for a five minute filing. A couple of weeks later I got a check for $28 in the mail from the IRS and thought that was the end of it. Then comes today when I'm woken up for a collections call. I did not receive a prior bill or notice, they simply sent it to a debt collector. I've got no problem paying for a service I asked for, but the price, the complete lack of communication, and now the collections has made me realize that I'm never going back to these guys and I'm spreading the word. $300 turns out to be my stupid-tax to find out I could easily do my own online.
Thanks for choosing us for your tax preparation needs! Our professional fees are based on a per form basis and our fees are consistently "below average" on the annual National Society of Accountants National and State average fee survey. The ability of our tax professionals to efficiently and quickly prepare an accurate return is indeed something we take pride in! While we cannot get into specifics about the "debt" collector you refer to in your post in a public format such as this, we can confirm that after looking into your claim, it was unrelated to any mistake made in the preparation or handling of your tax return.

This was our first and will be our last year using TaxPro to do our taxes. We decided to try this place due to having quicker appointments then our regular accountant. However, I wish we would have waited. When we called to book our appointment we were told that the tax fee varied and couldn't even give us a ball park figure at to what this would cost us, we figured it would be a little higher than our usual accountants fee. Getting our taxes done was very quick (only positive) but even when we were finished doing our taxes, no one knew what the fee was. The accountant suggested that we added something on to our small business to increase our refund, so the next day we brought in the information for it. She said she would call us to talk about the result at the end of the day, well almost a week later we received a call to come pick up our file. There was no further discussion about whether or not the extra information helped our refund (obviously it didn't because the refund number didn't change), and we were charged over double what we have ever paid. Making us wait almost an entire week for a response on when our taxes were done, than not evening talking with us about the change in our tax refund and charging us an extreme hefty fee... No thanks, I'll take my business else where!
We appreciate the opportunity to serve your tax needs! Like most tax accounting firms in our Industry, our professional fees are based on a per-form basis. It is relatively impossible to give an accurate fee quote over the phone and any attempt at a "ballpark" figure would result in a pretty large ballpark. For that reason, we always suggest bringing your tax docs into the office ahead of time so we can lay eyes on the paperwork and give a solid estimate of our fees. Based on annual National and State average tax preparation fees as published by the National Society of Accountants each year, our fees are "below average." We strive to provide exceptional service and value to our clients and since 1989 we have served many thousands of satisfied tax clients. Re: the length of time to receive your completed return, we have a "review and billing" procedure (like most tax firms) that is designed to ensure accuracy of the return and finally to be invoiced. That process usually takes 48 hours, so in this case it appears it went longer than usual. Thank you again for the chance to handle your tax preparation needs!

Most unprofessional person I have ever had to do business with and won’t be again. Accountant in Skowhegan office no longer works there and he is doing your taxes from Florida. So you can’t very often talk to him and when you do you can’t believe a word he says.
Google should really provide a way for business owners to block or prevent rude, obnoxious, and inaccurate reviews like this from people with nothing better to do than try to tarnish and bring down the reputation of an outstanding company with great people! For over 30 years, we have proudly and professionally served the tax filing needs of Central Maine taxpayers and that does not happen with "unprofessional" people. This client berated and harassed my Admin staff repeatedly and made false claims which we were not going to tolerate. Possibly the worst client we have attempted to serve in our 30 years...most clients are fantastic to deal with...not the case with this particular one. Apparently unhappy that some of our staff work from FL during tax season (and local in ME as well) yet asserts without any credibility that staff in FL "can't be very often" talked to even though we live in the information age! If the client had not gone elsewhere we would have fired him which is what smart business people do when dealing with customers who are disrespectful to staff. We are happy to continue serving our awesome clients in ME and FL delivering exceptional tax services and value with class and professionalism.
