    Refinanced my wife's remaining $77k loan. She already had a rate of 4.03%, but Splash offered a rate of 3.79%. Upon accepting that rate, they switched the rate to 3.99%. No one could offer a proper explanation of why the new rate is 3.99%, other than "rates change daily sir." Typically, when someone accepts, you are supposed to lock in the rate. At the end of the refi, she only got 3.99% which only saves about 7- 10 cents/day. Yet, the Splash Financial site is still touting that my wife got 3.79% when we logged in. That's not really honest. Don't even get me started on the long drawn out process. I provided all necessary documents right away and it still took many weeks for them to even start the refi process.

    Update: Had a customer service rep call after he saw the below review and try to take note of areas that they could possibly improve on in the future, based off my experience. He was very kind, and he said they are going to roll out some site updates soon, so maybe that will help future applicants. I don't know. Just felt obligated to note that they did care enough to follow up. ___________________________________________________ Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Their online portals are not up to date or current, so they may be needing a document from you, but you have no way of knowing until you call. Here's the kicker- When you call, they have several systems so 100% of the times I called they were ADAMANT that I had no applications open with them. I would try to explain that I did or that the email might have a "." in one place, but it would take several minutes of back and forths until they SUDDENLY would find it. Then I was told at least four times that my application was approved and I should keep an eye out for the offer to sign and accept that same evening. Nope! Was never there! As I mentioned- the portal is absolutely useless so I always had to call and inquire when it was coming, and the whole thing would start again. The last woman I spoke to was particularly rude. I was super attracted to their low rates, but after a month, 4 phone calls, several emails and still having no idea what the hell was happening or where my loan was at, I finally decided to jump ship. I don't want to refinance with such an unorganized organization (ba dum chhh). I suggest looking elsewhere. There are much more professional places that can turn around loan applications and have great customer service, out there. Save yourself the hassle. Sorry Splash-just saying it like it is!

    They were responsive. If you are a contractor I was told you had to be contracted for "2 years or 2 years history consistently". Otherwise you'll be rejected for not meeting minimum program requirements.

    Splash was great: hooked me up with a Credit Union and that process was smooth, upload some documents, then one or two more, wait a couple weeks and BAM, approved for a great loan. Tried SoFi and that was the worst: constant requests for documents, endless phone calls and justifying my credit score and income. SoFi showed the limits and pitfalls of on line lending, Splash showed the great potential...

    I am an member of the Dave Ramsey tribe, and have found his information and endorsements to be reliable sources on my journey. Student loans are my last leg of debt, so was pleased when an endorsement of a reputable student loan refi provider surfaced. I contacted Splash July 20th in hopes of getting answers to a couple questions that have been stirring since hearing of them through Dave's podcast. The representative I spoke with on the call was rude to the point of sounding angry, leaving me with the impression that she hates her job. This experience left me contemplating whether Splash is right for me. As an avid listener of Ramsey, I'm fairly comfortable he would not endorse a product that is good, if he imagined his following would be addressed so rudely. I was shocked, and remain apprehensive.
