    Sound Credit Union has been such an amazing bank, I wanted to leave a review and feedback on a recent experience I had. My wife and I have been saving up for a house, since we are expecting a newborn in February! About a few weeks ago, I had a fraudulent charge from an Apple Cash withdrawal for a large amount of money. To say the least, we were devastated that this happened during a stressful period of our lives. We canceled our debt card. I went to the Tacoma Downtown branch and they issued a new one, right then and there. I was relieved as I had a trip planned the next day! Additionally, I was working with a Customer Service Rep Katie via secure messages and she was able to get things reviewed. My wife and I felt so relieved after receiving credit to the account for the occurrence. It’s been a weight taken off of our shoulders and are more than happy that we have a fantastic Credit Union that are dedicated to the security of our accounts and livelihood. Thank you for your team and your assistance through our crazy period of life! Bless your hearts.

    I am Editing my previous review from 1 to 4 stars but will leave the original text for historical purposes. Eva from management quickly contacted my wife and was able to resolve the issue, removed the negative balance fee and process the funds correctly. She handled it timely and professionally. -----Original Review Below----- Wife had called multiple times to get her last name changed on her account. She was told that is was changed. On November 1st two checks that were deposited mobily were refunded because the last names "did not match", this caused the checking account to go into the negatives as bills were withdrawn. The last names were correct and we didn't have any problems until now. She called in but was told to pound sand and that it was our fault that we didn't keep the checks. We were also told that once the money was redeposited the negative balance would be taken... we are losing money on their clerical mistake. This is absolutely unacceptable and once this issue is resolved we will be taking our business elsewhere. If you are in the market for a credit union, find someone else other than this group of thieves.

    I used to live in Washington state, I am active duty and now live in North Carolina. I had a bank account through sound credit union and received a notification in the mail now five years later that I still have $344 in my account. I had a vehicle loan through them which is why I never close my account out before I left I had paid my vehicle off in full but did not realize I had money actually in my bank account there because I didn’t use it as a bank account. Two days in a row now I have called to try to request this money to be sent or transferred into my account and I’ve been given three separate answers from three different women. The first two were extremely polite to me. I have been receiving emails now from Lisa at the info desk who is being so cold and short to me and refusing to help me. I was told that I could go to a credit union near me and they could transfer the funds using my member ID but both of the credit unions near me are out of my way so I called back and I was given an email for accounting and I was told to send a photocopy of my drivers license and my member ID to request a cashiers check email to the address on file so that is what I did. A woman name Lisa has continued to email me and keeps telling me that I need to keep calling in to request this information instead and I’ve explain to her I’ve already called and I was given her email address to request a cashiers check being sent to me and she’s refusing to help me now; and has stopped responding to my emails.

    If you love sitting on hold for 30 minutes to an hour at a time, this is the credit union for you. Absolutely unacceptable. Sound, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

    $ 3.50 FEE for a withdrawal if I used my SSD benefits card .. U GOTTA BE KIDDING. For a credit union charging this much, imagine the other feed associated with an actual account with this place. I've been a credit union member in the past and even down in Olympia they don't charge for using. Ridiculous at best. Maybe they need funds for the "recent name change " including the logo! Chalk it up to "location, location, location " as they say in real estate business

    2 days before thanksgiving they decide to put a week hold on one of my checks although I’ve deposited here multiple times with no issues. And they refuse to give me my own money. Horrible place. Cancelling my account. Teller said supervisor made the decision whether to release my money or not and apparently supervisor denied my request to take my own money.

    12-16-20 Having been a customer for thirty years I want to lodge a formal complaint. Sound Credit Union branches have been requesting appointments since March 2020 due to covid-19. Why, why, why is your administration so lame? You do not put the branch phone numbers or extensions on your web site. You do not list the branch numbers as an option in your call tree. We do not have time to waste trying to hunt down these numbers. Get your act together.

    Have been with SCU for many years. I recently had an issue with mobile check deposits. I emailed them, and issue was resolved within 24 hours. Excellent customer service! Over the years I have not had to call them very often, but when I have, I get a human, who speaks English, within 4 rings, every time. Name any financial institution that can say that!!!!

    I have had many car/truck loans over the years and i have never had a worst experience with a credit union. I will never use or recommend sound credit union again. Issues from unwarranted insurance charges to payoff amount magicly changing overnight. It has been such a bad experice i am seriously considering paying the extra interest and puting the remaining balance from a truck loan on a credit card. You have been forwarned...take your business elsewhere.
