    Sound credit Union modus operandi is to question people of color for any and all transaction and make it super difficult for non whites to bank there. In my opinion, If you aren't white please stay away especially the Auburn branch by the collection mall.

    First time I found one bank that would work on a problem (estate account) to redeem US bond from the estate. call 5 other larger bank and they would not touch them (to much work) . scheduled appt with Mary Chica and she sent over 3 hours helping me with this .WOW I can not tell you how much she helped me getting through with process. super lady thanks you so much. Sound cu lucky to have this person working for customer and Sound CU

    I dealt with Taya Whiteside at this branch and she was very helpful. Had called the online number twice with no results and this was the second time I had been to the branch and she was very helpful and resolved my problem right away. Extremely happy with her service

    I am so angry. It started when I was not aware that they would put a 3 day hold on an ATM check. So they bounced a $6,000 check. When I called customer service, they told me they were not my babysitter. Then I accidently forgot to sign the draw check from the company that I owned. So they called me on my cell phone. They did not call the other account holder. Instead they started bouncing checks, again. They only reversed half of the fees because it was "my fault." So now, they have started verifying funds on all of my company draw checks. They say this is "per my instructions." Why would I put in my instructions to check the funds on my own account. So today I was put on final notice for being abusive with the tellers. I have never gotten anything like this in my life. These lovely people continue to charge me unwarranted fees and give me grief about cashing checks and wonder why I am upset. Changing banks is a hassle, but in this case it will be well worth it.

    Chris, We’ve received your message and would like to see what we can do to help or at the very least explain the situation. There are a number of factors that go into determining holds. Part of the length of a hold is determined by the method of deposit. Typically, longer holds are placed at ATMs, with shorter ones at our own Teller windows. You’ll find an “Availability of Deposits” notice on each of our deposit-taking ATMs as well as on the screen before you complete your deposit.     UPDATE 4-26-19: Service is just as bad as ever. I haven't changed banks because it's a major hassle. Today the teller could not release funds for a check. Teller suggested I come back in 30 minutes to talk with a manager... How is that convenient?!?! I've been banking here for about 10 years... Good credit, good account history! I've NEVER deposited a bad check. The ONLY time I've had bounced checks is because they hold funds as long as possible, and I forgot to wait the full 9 business days for funds to process. I make all my deposits at BECU because I got tired of dealing with the broken ATM's (funds weren't available any sooner using their ATM anyway). At least they are consistent...you can almost always count on being irritated when visiting a branch. :/ Original post from one year ago: The ATM is frequently out of order and won't accept check deposits. I called with concern about the issue and they said they knew the system was down, but had no idea when the ATM would be serviced. The outside ATM is the only ATM that will print check images on the receipt... They suggested I drive around to other branches to see if those ATM's were working... Someone is supposed to call me.... It's been down since Friday and thru the weekend... And, I'm still waiting for a call from customer service... Time to find a new bank or credit union! This one clearly doesn't care to address customer service issues.

    I have used this branch twice in December. First time I was the first customer through the door, asked for money from my checking and the teller asked me if I wanted to move money in to my savings as there was none in there. I explained no I wanted to talk to my husband about how much we were putting in our savings. She told me I could not have services if I didn't move money in to my savings. I told her no just give me my cash and she did slamming my money on the counter slamming my id on the counter. So why lie about denying me services??? what was the point? Fast Foward a week I go back to the branch again because I was in the area. Last time their ATM was broke so I pulled up to the window and asked the teller if I could get 20 out of my checking. Gave her my ID and Card, she looked at me like I was a idiot then wondered off. When she came back she asked me if I forgot my pin. I said no last time I was here the ATM was broke so I just pulled up here. She looks at me and says " Oh thats' why all those people are using it right? Because its broke. Not even kidding that's what she said. Yes a car pulled up to it after I got there ( I was the only car in the drive through at the time) WHY the attitude ?!?!?! was I wrong for getting money out of this place? They always act like I am bothering them or its a pain to do their job. Worst Sound Credit Union Branch ever!!!! I get none of this any where else I go but this place.

    24 hour ATM only open during lobby hours.

    Thanks for this feedback. Our Federal Way ATM is 24/7, but you’ve helped us realize it’s not clear how to access the vestibule after hours. Simply swipe the card you intend to use at the card-reader device to unlock the door. We apologize this wasn’t marked and will make improvements.

    I have gone to this branch for over 18 months to pay my car payment with SMCU (they have reciprocal agreements for taking payments/deposits, etc.), since it's much closer to my home; today, because I'm disabled, and it's hard to walk, even with my cane, I decided to just write the check in the car and take it and my driver's license in with me, leaving my purse in the car. I accidentally wrote "Three" instead of "Two on the line for the spelled-out amount of the check, with the digits in the box being correct. I caught it, changed the "Three" to "Two", initialed and circled my initials at the change. Then I went in. After giving my check and license to the teller, she asked me for the last four of my social security number, which I did. Next thing I know, a blonde woman, probably in her 40's, came over, looked at my check and asked me if I had written the check. I responded "of course I did - you have my licence!" I explained that it's hard to walk and harder with a heavy purse and my cane, so I left my checkbook in the car. She asked me to go back to my car and write a new check and bring it back. I told her I wasn't going to do that, since it took me a while to walk in to the branch. She then told me "We don't accept altered checks." Well, lady, you just lost at least $5,000 worth of business, cuz I HAD liked your tellers, and had decided I was going to open an account there. Not now - what she did was NOT regulation, especially with it being MY check and them having MY driver's license and me there as well, attesting to the authenticity of the check, which was being paid on MY auto loan! Bad business, appalling customer service, and I wouldn't recommend this branch to anyone for any reason!
