This is the first Google review I have ever written. Our experience applying for and eventually closing a home equity line of credit with Seattle Credit Union was a slow painful experience. For the record, we have purchased many homes and had several home equity loans and lines of credit from other institutions so we have good basis of comparison. The only thing that went right was the HELOC was ultimately approved and funded but getting there was like taking a trip to the dentist. Their loan officer was slow, seemed inexperienced, and was horrible with follow up and communication. The underwriting process took nearly 8 weeks! We've never been asked for more documentation in our lives and had to send the same documents to different people a couple times. I'm sure SCU has several loan officers and underwriters my hope is if you're applying for a loan there you don't get the crew that worked on ours.

This terrible bank has a totally dysfunctional fraud detection system which constantly flags legitimate transactions of mine as fraudulent when using my own debit and credit cards. Every time this happens, I have to call in and spend an hour or more speaking to multiple associates to get the issue resolved, as my card is blocked, and sometimes it takes multiple days to get the issue resolved. I would absolutely advice people to STAY AWAY from this horrible bank, and I plan on closing my accounts and taking my business elsewhere ASAP. Seattle Credit Union sucks!!!

This bank has went way downhill. If you need something done, better prepare to make it a full day event. So slow, the app rarley works so then you have to call in which is damn near impossible to reach anyone, and appointments are hard to come by. I'll be switching banks after 8 years of being with them. (along with the rest of my family)

The call center customer service reps give different answers regarding policy, depending on who you speak with. Policy isn't something that can be misinterpreted and shouldn't be debatable. I'm facing hundreds of dollars in fees now, thanks to CSRs Evan/John and was told "I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do." You can confirm the actual bank policy and honor your word. How about starting there?!

BEWARE OF THIS CREDIT UNION, I am extremely disappointed in the employee ( Enrique Mota )he is the most unprofessional employee we have ever encountered he lies to his customers about other companies products to sell his own which are the same products but he takes the money from other hard working employees beware dealers and customers of this employee and possibly the whole Credit union structure. They are very uneducated in professionalism and they really should educate more on there integrity

The customer service was soo poor here it was disgusting. Especially since they brag they’re a “Democratically owned” credit union.
Hi Deonte, We're sorry to hear your recent experience with us did not meet your standards. We would love to know a little more – for example, which branch you visit, any specific interactions that did not meet your expectations, etc. Because we do not ask for personal information over social media, we're hoping you’ll give us a call at 206-398-5500.
