Would recommend any other banking institution. Rates are bad. Customer service is terrible. Don’t even bother calling. Want to make a withdrawal? Better call the branch you’re going to before hand to make sure they have the funds. Oh you want to instead just transfer your money to an external account? Good luck. And you better believe they’re charging you to do that. Check BBB for other shady antics. I regret choosing this credit union Reply; This is not misinformation, this is personal experience over years of dealing with this organization. Don’t listen to the admins reply trying to invalidate a long time customers own experience. Another perfect example of their ethics.

We would like to clarify some misinformation in your review. Royal consistently has some of the best loan and deposit rates in our markets, and our excellent rates are part of the reason that so many Members choose Royal. Our central Member Service center assists Members by phone, and phone calls are an efficient way to do business with Royal. Unless a Member is withdrawing a very large sum of cash, there is no need to call ahead before making a transaction. Lastly, external account transfers are available at any time from our online banking and mobile app, and there is never a charge from Royal for sending your money to an account at another financial institution. I have 2 loans through royal credit union and have never had any issues until I noticed a late payment posted to my credit account. The account to my understanding was scheduled on auto payment from a non-Royal Union credit account, it was not. Long story short i asked to get a goodwill credit letter sent to the bureaus so that it does not affect my credit. I have been making three times the monthly payment every month, and got the cold shoulder. No late payments ever with them except for this one that was miss scheduling or miss understanding. I thought they would be more willing to work with an individual seeing as they are a smaller credit union…. They act like a larger bank.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not bother with this bank. It took nearly 10 attempts via secure messaging service or actually getting to talk to a person to lift limitations on my account so a debit card transaction would clear. No one should have to work that hard to get their banking done. 20 minutes on the phone going through security questions and answers before they could authorize a 3 day limit increase. This is a debit card transaction. The lack of effective and diligent customer service is ridiculous, the benefits are non-existant and the limitations they erroneously place on you are debilitating when you need to get people paid. I am a contractor and it is unacceptable to not get people paid when work needs to be done and they have provided absolutely no urgency to assist. I cannot even log into my account at this moment. Be forewarned.

Been with RCU for a few years now. Today was the first time I have ever sat down and spoken with a represenative in person before. Best banking exspirnece I've ever had! RCU has been very consistent in providing excellent service! Everyone I’ve dealt with in the branch and on the phone is friendly and efficient. They have great rates and all the goodies the big banks do -just without all the fees. I originally opened a checking account, but quickly added Savings, credit card and a loan! Great CU that really does care about members and providing excellent service! If you are used to big bank blues, switch to RCU for a completely different experience.

Terrible service. Had an appointment at 3pm, showed up at 2:35pm, staff told me they’ll see me in 15 minutes, and waited till 3:15pm and was never seen. I walked out. Was going to do business with them, but if this was the level of service they provide, then I’m glad we don’t do any business.

I've been banking with RCU for years, including our first home mortgage and now our second home mortgage. Everyone I've come into contact with at RCU has been professional, courteous and helpful. We worked with Mark Erickson and Mariah Flor through the home buying process, and they both were extremely helpful, thorough, and patient with all of our questions and met all of our deadlines. Mark attended our closing and even stayed 2 hours late because the closing time got mixed up. I would definitely recommend banking with RCU and using Mark and his team for your home mortgage!

I cannot say enough good things about Sarah and my experience here at Royal Credit Union. My boyfriend and I were referred here by a dealership for an auto loan. Sarah was so helpful and we really appreciated her patience since we've never financed anything before.
