So I bought a car from Rowe credit on the 28 of last month. After 6 days and 301 miles the check engine light comes on. They send it to Lee in Auburn to be looked at/ possibly worked on. Lee does a 5 point inspection on all vehicles they evaluate. The car had a sticker put on, on November 4, it was driven a total of 11 miles from the time it was inspected and and me buying it- and that includes the test drive. After them assuring me that the codes were not reset and it being looked at, it has a cracked exhaust manifold, a bad vent solenoid and a loose right front inner tie rod. They told me that they would not fix the tie rod and I needed to “keep an eye on it because it will need to be replaced soon and was still inspectable” and the car has electrical issues- could not use the trunk, windows only worked when they wanted to and you could not lock the car or barley unlock it from the inside. After doing some research- the “still inspectable” tie rods are in fact not inspectable, they agreed to fix it. They wanted to leave me with no transportation AGAIN for an undetermined amount of days..... all of these things were covered under warranty and so is a loaner. They refused to make a claim on the warranty they said came with the car but charged me 1,750 dollars, so I could not have a loaner. I was smart and got a app that records all incoming and out going calls, I’m not the one that hung myself- they said no legal action- the didn’t say I could not expose the truth. I feel bad for mike, the salesmen that sold me the car because he did all he was allowed to do. However can not respect someone who works for such a dishonest company that CLEARLY does several illegal things. And they say that’s what you get when you have no credit- no it’s not- but me making the state, and every person I know, and every person that knows somebody I know as well as channel 8 on your side- they may choose to not run the story, but now they know too, is what they get. And the mechanic they use, Paul’s auto inc on Brighton ave in Portland, now has a detective investigating them as well. I spent all day on the phone with the attorney generals office and the BMV. What they were doing was illegal and when I stated my rights as a buyer and who I spoke with, the “supervisor” said I was making threats and demanded that I “bring his car back” he also told me I would receive all money I have paid for the car I would get back and I can sign a paper absolving me of anything to do with the vehicle and the loan. After the wheels were set in motion for them to be investigated and their mechanic for the dishonest, shady and illegal business they are conducting I decided to give back the car for several reasons. If I’m having this much trouble this soon it is only going to continue and the vehicle would most likely not last through the loan. I do not want to deal with them for the next three years and they most certainly saved me thousands of dollars. When I called to say that I would return the car if they had my check ready when I got there and something on their letter head saying I was not responsible. At which point he asked the mileage and proceeded to tell me that legally he can charge me 57.4 cents per mile and I in fact would owe them 587 dollars but if I brought the car back we would call it even I brought the car back at which point he made me sign something I would take no legal action against them..... well if your not doing anything illegal why does it matter and no I’m not bringing legal action but the state might and give you thousands in fines. No matter how desperate you think you are DO NOT buy a vehicle from these people. Legally they had to fix the car, legally they had to let the mechanic of my choosing do the work. Legally I can make them use the warranty. Legally I could make them reimburse me for a loaner. Legally I had them by the balls- however returning the car was the best thing for me so I did not have to continue doing business with such scum.
I will stick to the facts rather than making a mountain out of a molehill. You did purchase a vehicle on 11/28/20 and unfortunately the check engine light did come on. Since it was more convenient for you to bring the vehicle to another dealership I had my salesperson reach out to Lee in Auburn. They did a dio and stated that it needed an exhaust manifold and to watch the tie rod end since it is passable but may come loose within the next year and need to be replaced. My salesperson asked me if I would cover it and I agreed. What you don't know, is that we are responsible within the first 30 days for warranty claims so we wanted it to be done at one of our garages that we use, since we are paying the bill. At that point you pointed out the issue with the door locks and trunk. You wanted a loaner provided to you which we did not have available for you. You called back after awhile and verbally assaulted my salesperson. That is when I picked up the phone and just listened to what you were saying, it wasn't pleasant and then I said "Jeremy speaking." You were quite surprised that I was on the line. You started by saying everything that you were doing "calling the US Attorney General, calling BMV, calling the State Police, and etc." I responded that you could just bring the car back. A couple hours later you called demanding "to have a check here for $55.00 and paperwork on company letterhead dissolving you of the loan." I found out that you had put over 800 miles on the vehicle and told you that you would not be getting back your $55.00. You agreed to that and I had a rescission agreement drafted. The rescission agreement is an agreement between a person and company that states no claims will be taken between us. This benefits you greatly since I will not go after you in court to make you pay for the vehicle. You read the agreement and signed it. Just so you know, the door locks and trunk not working was simply the key fob that needed to be programmed. Although we strive for perfection when it comes to used vehicles, sometimes things go wrong. At that point I try to help people and resolve the issues. This is the reason we have sold well over 16,000 vehicles. We can not help our customers if they do not remain respectful in the process and sometimes we just choose to move on. I wish you nothing but the best. Jeremy

Great customer service, but the car is a piece. Brought it in TWICE under the 60 day warranty, those issues were never fixed. Transmission shifts hard many noises that shouldn't be there. Save 1000$ put it on a prepaid credit card and get yourself a reliable vehicle, NOT HERE. Dont end up paying way to much on a loan for a vehicle that probably wont make it to the end of the loan.
Hello Caitlin, I am sorry you are having issues. I do know that I have 1 customer with the name Caitlin and that customer hasn't called the office with any issues with the vehicle. If you would like, feel free to give me a call and we can discuss your situation. Thank you, Jeremy

My husband bought a car from here overall it's a nice car. Obviously we're paying more than its worth but it's a special credit car dealer it's to be expected I guess. Never had any major issues with the car and if we slip up and forget to make a payment they don't seem to mind so long as we call the next open business day. The only negative thing is when we got the car it had no speakers and when asked about it they didn't seem to know anything about it but one of the salesman was kind enough to give us a decent set that he personally had laying around

Mike was awesome and made the entire experience simple. I have worked with the Rowe Credit team more than once, and they are great.
Thank you Jessica for taking the time to do a review and your repeat business. Jeremy
