DO NOT try to refinance through Freedom Mortgage! They will lie and misrepresent everything. They will rush you through the process and try to get you to sign before you actually read the fine print. Numerous other companies out there are worth looking into. Freedom closing costs is sky high. They will quote you a lower closing cost and then jack it up. Luckily I read the fine print and payed attention to the details. We aborted going through Freedom. Unfortunately they are the holder of our current mortgage, hopefully we can change that soon. Terribly deceitful company!

I changed my recurring monthly payment online, which according to Freedom was successful. They still pulled it in the old date which generated a fee. When I called the rep said she could see they pulled on the wrong date. I asked them to cover my fee. I got to listen to 5 minutes of fluff about how caring and proactive they are while she asked her manager about the fee. The answer was “NO!” It’s in the fine print of my loan paperwork (which I don’t have since they bought my loan) that changes need five days (and I only gave them three). So much for the caring and proactive part. If someone goes on my company website and does a transaction and gets a successful response from us, it’s successful. Anything less is dishonest. Google needs to offer ZERO stars!

Freedom acquired my loan from Roundpoint and since that time every interaction has been an absolutely terrible customer service experience. their closing agent missed my refi appointment twice. Now my refi is done but that's when the real problems started. I spent 2 hours on hold to find out why they auto-drafted a payment for a loan that's closed and why they also took an insurance claim check that was meant for home repairs and mistakenly applied it to my loan, they admit it was a mistake but will not refund it. after explaining it to multiple personnel over the last 6 weeks who had no idea how to help get me my money back I have been repeatedly placed on hold then disconnected and even though they ask for a callback number no one calls back. I also regularly spend 20-30 minutes on hold to call them back. Then I have to explain everything all over again. I'm just chasing my tail and it happens so consistently I’m starting to think its a formal procedure to frustrate me into not calling back. The entire experience has been a nightmare freedom currently owes me over $1700. update.....I spoke to a woman in their escalations department after spending 7 hours on the phone with different people from (not so) freedom mortgage who seemed genuinely concerned but it was after 8pm so she gave me her direct line and asked me to call back the fallowing day. I've now called 8 times and left 2 messages in 2 days and this person is not responding now when i call I get a message that says she's un-available. Also the above review that gives 5 stars and just says "great rates and service" is bogus. a little detective work revealed it's from a person who has business interests with freedom.

Terrible company service. My loan was sold to them by my past mortgage company and I have had nothing but disrespect from the people I talk to. I get no call backs, one word emails and hung up on all with no explanations. I don't understand why they cant answer my questions or even take the time to email me or call. I was only offered a refinance, I didn't know I could have just paid my normal amount and would have been fine, so I was a bit freaked with no communication. I lost my refinance because the representative forgot to send me proper documentation and I didn't find out about it till I was denied. I am very dishearten that they hold my loan now and will be looking for a new place soon. Maybe its just who I talked to but if it is they need to get rid of that person because he just simply doesn't care about the the company or customers.

I called Freedom Mortgage to ask about a one month deferral for July 2020 but was told by a CSR that Freedom Mortgage did not do deferrals but I could make a partial payment. I was told to send the partial payments to 10500 Kincaid Dr ste.111 Fishers,IN. On July 16, 2020 I mailed a MO of $441.51 then on August 3, 2020 I mailed a MO of$162.29 to the Kincaid address. After receiving what seemed like one hundred calls from CSR’s about my July payment I was told I mailed it to the wrong address. Both payments were not posted to my loan for several weeks, making it seem as if I had not paid my July payment. This in turn had Freedom Mortgage send to two credit bureaus that I was delinquent which lowered my credit score considerably. One credit bureau even states that I am delinquent the entire amount of my mortgage. I need to send a letter explaining this so Freedom Mortgage can reverse what they have done to my credit score but I’m not sure who to get a correct address from to mail the letter. I have had this mortgage for over 16 years and only deferred the July payment so I could pay the shortage on my escrow account in full. I wish there was someone at Freedom Mortgage I could trust to give me correct answers Respectively, Lorry Baker

I unfortunately ended up with this mortgage company...not by choice. They call me every single day (including weekends) and leave me atleast 4 or 5 vmails A DAY to try and refinance. On top of that I get mail from them, texts, and emails on a daily basis. It's ridiculous. When I did talk to someone they told me that since I have never made a missed payment, I could refinance and they would pay the closing costs. I asked again to confirm, and they again stated that they would pay the closing costs. They pressured me into signing multiple lengthy documents while on the phone. After later reviewing the docs, I discovered they lied, and were not covering the costs and that I would have to pay the closing costs. I would highly recommend staying away from this company. I have been with several lenders and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had.

After merging with Roundpoint we are now stuck with Freedom Mortgage. They somehow authorized an additional payment to be taken out of our account causing multiple NSF fees because we have other bills on automatic payments that went out shortly after. Called numerous times and was told it would be remedied in 72 hours once I emailed a bank statement in showing what happened so I did that. It’s been a week now and I’ve received one email stating they need my bank routing and account numbers (wait..they have that don’t they!? How else did they take my money?!) and a statement in pdf. Really? I can’t believe this is being delayed! I’ve got no money because my bank paid them and my paycheck is being put towards that with a negative balance and upcoming bills going out. They need to do better than this. Put my money back!

Would not recommend. My loan was bought out last year by freedom. I am in process of trying to close on selling house and am having issues with freedom. Title company has said they have sent over the necessary forms to get payoff request 4x and freedom has not received a single one of them. When I asked to speak with a manger so I could get the ball rolling, I was informed that there wasn’t one I could speak with! Just very frustrating when something my title company should be able to take care of for me, and I have to get involved to get the process started.

My mortgage was purchased by Freedom a few years back and I can not say enough about the level of service I have received. I have been all around very impressed with Freedom and the way they do business. They seem to really go out of their way to ensure they are doing the best thing for their customers and looking out for their best interests. This included recently offering to refinance my mortgage at a lower rate with no closing costs to me. They stated this was because they did not want to lose me as a customer with me refinancing elsewhere. Throughout the process their agents have responded to emails from me whether it was nights, weekends, etc. I have been highly impressed all around and they definitely have a very loyal customer because of it in me.

Payment collections were sold to another party. I was never notified. Once I did receive a letter letting me know I was in default (I had been on auto payment for years) I called to resolve the situation. I was informed my late payments were sent to the credit bureau only days before. I informed 2 different customer service people I shouldn't be held accountable for their mistake. They didn't seem to care. I have to pay the price on my credit report because this company didn't do a good job of transferring my auto payment or informing me it had to be done. All I heard was that they sent a letter. I never received the letter. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Worst customer service ever! I wish I would have read these reviews before I got a mortgage with these people. Anyone looking at a mortgage with them, beware.
