Getting help with my auto loan was awesome from customer service. As I was in the lobby Tami was rude to her fellow employees which was horrible and made me felt uncomfortable and did not want to help me at all as she was walking in her office while other customer service had members with them and she did not call me in as I was waiting for awhile. Do not bank with them !

This place is just awful on so many levels. I used to be a member here and their hours of operation are terrible. They are rude and uncompromising in so many areas. Their online banking practically doesn’t exist. Also today I went in to exchange smaller bills to big ones and they decide to tell me that their services are for “members only”. When I literally was in there yesterday to do the same transaction. Money is money I thought. Won’t be back here ever again not even for shared branching.
Hi Nikki, I regret that you had a negative experience and welcome the opportunity to discuss it with you. Please feel free to contact Gina DePalo, VP Branch Administration & Marketing at 401.553.2206 or [email protected].

Wife and myself new to Rhode Island area and we heard that this place would assist us, with our laundry business. Had to wait in line to open our business account. Especially when no coffee or something while we wait. Just three staff behind counter playing around with cell phones. Speaking of football instead of dealing with there customers. Much apologies but not very respectful.

I will withdrawing my money from this institution. The woman ( hair in a bun, short and stocky) was quite rude and verbally aggressive. Yelling at me as she was going on breaking. Just for asking questions. So unprofessional. I wouldn’t suggest that bank to a snake. Customer service has diminished severely since that branch has open. Not to mention their mask removal policy to enter. I’ve never heard of putting your customers at risk for contracting Covid-19.
We are disappointed to hear about your negative experience and the manner in which you were treated. We would be happy to discuss with you and explain our security protocols regarding masks. Please feel free to contact Gina DePalo at 401.553.2206 or [email protected].

Man has this place gone down hill. I never comment on these things, but I'm pretty peeved. Went in for assistance with an auto loan. I already have had 2 loans with them (one of which is still open). For 5 minutes, they cannot find my accounts by name or social?! Two women working my issue. One was obviously a trainee. The woman training her must have been fed up or having a bad day. She was speaking to her with such contempt. It was a little uncomfortable. As to the actual issue, I need a loan on an older car. It is a grandma car with no miles but manufactured Sept 2008. They only go back to 2009 for financing. (I missed it by 2 months?!) I get that it is basic policy, but come on. My credit is near flawless at 800 and there is no consideration? Loan manager (Lou?) would not even come out of his office to see me. I was asking for other options, (personal loan, someone to think outside the box, etc) and there just wasn't any apparently. I left peeved, for both their decision and their treatment even though I have 2 loans with them. I'm glad I now live a half hour away and don't use them regularly. Oh, and then (wait for it) I get a call as I'm on the highway 10 minutes later "sorry we have your license still"... Ah well, accidents happen. Just seemed to be icing on this not so delicious cake....

I wanted to but a new truck and a little later my Harley. RIFC was sooooo Awesome !!!!! They went the extra mile to make me happy. Pretty much a painless experience. They did all the paperwork and when I had a few snags with my third party purchase they stepped in and straightened it all out !!!! Marilyn was awesome as we the rest of the ladies there !!!! Keep up the good work !!!!
Thank you Mark for the excellent review! We certainly try our best and so happy that your experience with us was a positive one.

I gave a 5 star review for the car loan we have with this credit union, the person who helped us was great. Today, I came in to pay my car loan and the older teller was very rude. I understand this covid situation has put people on edge, i had my mask on but forgot I had it past my nose because my glasses fog up. When I got up to the plexiglass window she gave me a stern look and scolded me like my grandmother would telling me to put the mask over my nose. All she had to do was ask me to cover my nose with my mask, I had completely forgot and all was well. Customer service should be first, I came in with a mask, just nicely remind me not scold me. I may look for another place for my loan.
I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with us and I would be happy to discuss with you further. Please feel free to contact Gina DePalo, VP Branch Administration & Marketing at 401.553.2206 or [email protected].

After I pay off my loan, I will be closing my account with this company. For context, I was closing on my first loan hoping to be serviced by Ana as she was the one who I’ve been in contact with. She was nothing but kind and professional. When I came to the Cranston Branch, I was asked to sit in the waiting area as she was finishing up with someone. One of her colleagues, Marilyn said she can service me.My phone was on but it was very faint and on mute (was listening in). Towards the end of the closing I hear my name on the phone and I answer a question for about 20 secs and tell them that I will call them back. Marilyn says: “How can I say this with keeping it professional (*pauses*) you are being kind of rude when you are on the phone. I let it slide but you come here for a loan and we are providing a service, we need your undivided attention.” Mind you, my attention was on her the entire time besides those few secs. I apologized a couple of times because I didn’t want her to feel disrespected, but looking back this could have avoided by her saying in the beginning: “for the sake of the closing, we ask our clients to have all electronics off, due to etc.” Heck, even have a sign up on the glass that says no phones. Sometimes members at banks need to be reminded of the rules and regulations of the branch, especially due to COVID-19. But don’t be passive aggressive towards the end of the closing asking me “do I want to do this another time” and talk down to me. For me, it was the tone of voice and sharpness that threw me off. I apologized one more time as I left and she said that’s alright, but didn’t even say bye or have a good day. I guess I wasn’t worth that courtesy. To be honest, I had no idea that the closing was going to be 20+ mins because I thought it would be an in and out situation. Maybe I should've been more proactive in researching the process. Regardless of the odd encounter, I do appreciate RI Credit Union for their quick turnaround on receiving this loan.
We are very sorry the for the experience you had during your loan closing and would like the opportunity to discuss it with you. Please feel free to contact the Cranston Branch Manager, Tami Jackvony at 401.941.8770.

I will never go to any branch of RICU. I had a check I just wanted to cash quick....first I went to the Kingston location. Nowhere online does it say the branch in inside a building on the uri campus...so because I have a 2 year old and a sick 9 month old I decided not to park and haul them around campus and try to find the branch so I proceeded to go to Cranston location....so after waiting for 5 minutes at the drive through without acknowledgment someone finally asked what I needed. I said I just need to cash the check. After another 4 to 5 minutes a different lady (very rude) said do you have an account here? I said no....she said we don't service non members at the drive through. I said I have 2 sleeping babies in the car dressed in only bathing suits and no shoes you really can't just cash this so I don't have to wake them up, dress them, and carry them in all for 50 dollars? She just said sorry.....i tore up the check and will never return. I hope no handicap non bank members go there....😥

This is the second time I have tried to go in this credit union to get a loan. 2 years ago I had a bad experience so I figured maybe it was just the women That helped me that was horrible. So I gave it another chance yesteday and she was so rude to me and said I am busy I will get to you when I can. When someone is trying to get a loan from your back you be nice to them . I definitely didn’t get a warm and fuzzy feeling at all. Never again I would love to speak with a manager.
Hi Carol, I would be happy to speak with you regarding your experience if you would like to call me at 553.2206. Gina DePalo VP Branch Administration & Marketing
