Worst Tour Guide Ever!!! The tour guide (Abby?) was completely insensitive making inappropriate jokes and comments throughout the tour of the Plantation. Some of the worst ones where when she said that she was most upset with the 9 lashes punishment because she preferred it to be rounded 10. Also while talking about James Henry Hammond’s niece’s incident, she said that the lesson to learn was not to put anything bad you do in writing. Seriously?!! So extremely inappropriate! She also said that slavery was not as bad as people make it to be. What?!!! I understand that this is part of history, but a very sad and tragic one for a lot of people, especially slaves! If you are going to do a tour of a property where so much cruelty happened and you cannot show empathy, at least try to be neutral and keep your biases and prejudice to yourself! Unbelievable! I had to put one star in order to write this review, otherwise I would have given them negative stars!!!
Ms. Diaz, thank you for bringing this to our attention. This site has long strived for accurate, sensitive, and compelling tours and it is distressing that you received much less than that. I would like to provide a "raincheck" for a free tour in the future. If you would contact us directly at the site, I would be happy to set that up. Again, I would like to offer my sincerest apology and an opportunity to share the rich and varied stories of Redcliffe.

This was an excellent tour. The house is very interesting, and the Ranger - Doug, was excellent. Very informative and fun. We enjoyed the entire tour of the home.

Nice place to go exploring if you are looking to do some exploring in the local area. My only complaint was that there was no one there in the guest services area in order to conduct the tour when I arrived other than that this place is gorgeous!!

We didn't get there in time for a tour of the inside but the outside was nice. Lots of history at Redcliffe.

Beautiful plantation. We took the guided tour and our tour guide Abby was exceptional. Doesn't take long to see everything.

Incredible setting, fascinating history and the view from this house's upper floors worth the ticket price! I always make a point to go and bring new friends!

The grounds here are well maintained and the home is beautiful. The tour was worth the money as the park ranger was very knowledgeable.

So.....From pulling up to the placeseeing the fields that were picked by slave labor made this surreal. This is some Bull&^% but reality.
