    I've had accounts at credit unions all across the country. This one is getting these stars because it's fairly mixed bag. I still prefer it to a large national bank. Here are my reasons: 1.) They clear up problems as they arise, but I've had quite a few more problems with them than the average credit union. 2.) Somehow, someone got into my account via my debit card. I only use the checking account for digital transactions (i.e.: pay credit cards off monthly because they provide better fraud protection) and checks. I had an issue where someone purchased bus tickets and other miscellaneous items in the Netherlands from Mexico. I've been to neither place. Still not sure how the scammer got access to my debit number, as I can't recall using it in the past year. As a result, I no longer have a debit card attached to my checking account and it suits me fine. They fixed the problem and refunded my money, but I'm still puzzled as to how it happened without my using the debit card. 3.) Inconsistent check deposit policies. I often get checks sent in both I and my spouse's name. Until recently, they had no problem accepting the signed over check. Today, I received a call that they couldn't deposit a check because we didn't have joint accounts (and never have) and that they couldn't for one reason or another. A few months ago they did, so I thought this wouldn't be an issue. As this is a personal account, no problem. I'll just have the check resent in my name only. The inconsistency is frustrating. So, the people are nice enough in every interaction I've had, but I cringe every time I receive a call from them. They seem to create a lot of their own problems. I just wish I wasn't on the receiving end. I'll retain my account, but I'll keep an eye out for a back up bank.

    Having an account with Red Canoe for over 15+ years does not matter at all to them. You are just a number and they're looking for anyway to make a buck. Definitely will be taking all future banking needs else where. Have been told 1 thing and they never follow through. I would steer clear of Red Canoe.

    My wife and I save our silver change all year for our vacation spending fund and we cash it in when we are going to go. So we took our jug of change in and there was a sign saying they were now charging 5% to members for cashing in change. We had $563.25 in change and ended up paying the credit union $28.16 to cash it in. This is so ridiculous. They already make money off our money in our accounts. They are charging because they now use a 3rd party to supply the coin machine and I assume maintain it. If you have accounts at Fibre Federal they do not charge and I was informed that they have no plans to charge for this service. Bad way to treat you members Red Canoe. This is probably especially hard for those that cash in change because that’s all they have and you come and take a cut of it. Rather greedy if you ask me especially with everything else going on in this world.

    As a member of a couple of other credit unions, both my bank cards were denied service. I used to be able to deposit checks here no more. Staff is really great, they try to help. For a credit union the management is terrible

    I have been a customer for 30 years. They have helped me with loans, build my credit when I had none, etc. There help has been evaluable. There are people that pay good money for the services that I receive there. Here's to the next 30 yrs with them.

    I've been with Red Canoe Credit Union for over a year now and I love the warmth and personality of all the employees who work at all the branches I've been to. Always had my issues resolved seamlessly. Red Canoe offers better interest rates than your conventional bank. The 6 month Easy Saver Certificate of Deposit is like no other CD account in the banking industry. I love the products offered and highly recommend moving your money to Red Canoe.

    I can't believe how willing Red Canoe was to help me. I actually thought the phrase "we treat you like family" was more of a tongue and cheek phrase that corporations like to throw at you to make you feel like less of a number. Well it is a favorite phrase for every corporate entity. Unfortunately they don't know the true definition of family, loyalty, and community; just record profits. Red Canoe Credit Union is a not - for - profit financial cooperative, they're not a corporation, that's why they've actually always treated us like family. They talk to my wife and I like they truly care. I recently retired from the military, and When I was deployed, Red Canoe helped make sure my families financial needs were taken care of. Thank you for all your support.

    Online banking has some issues and is fairly clunky. Transactions missing when looking at account balances, call them and they run down the transactions well enough in their system, but acknowledge that four are not listed online. No apology, no explanation, just "I'll send a correction ticket into IT". So you're just going to let it keep happening? The size of field you can type into for online transfers is so limited it's hard to type anything but a very abbreviated description. For home mortgage I finally got tired of their escrow policies and holding (too much of) my money, so I opted out and pay my insurance and taxes myself. Other errors and policy strictness/unreasonableness over the years. Interest ("dividend") rates equivalent to basic bank. I only stay with them because they are local, several no-fee ATMs, and my mortgage payment is an easy transfer.

    Red Canoe's in-person service at the main location on 15th Ave is marginally adequate, but slow. So I'm giving it 3 stars. I think this is because the main location has a lot of trainees and new tellers who slow the process, but they need to learn somewhere. All branch locations (30th Ave Longview branch, Kelso branch, etc) have excellent in-person service. So for branch locations, I reviewed and rated them 5 stars. Branch locations have seasoned, experienced tellers. Red Canoe has fast, excellent telephone service (much faster than Fibre). Red Canoe's fast telephone service is appreciated, especially during COVID. Red Canoe and Fibre both have excellent online banking, which is appreciated; especially during COVID.

    I've been with Red Canoe since before they became Red Canoe - pretty much my whole life. I've always had great service here, whether I am at home or on the road. Don't expect them to be exactly like a bank, because they aren't a "bank" even though you can do most banking activities here. Red Canoe is a Credit Union, and when you open an account you become a member.
