After being with FNB for over 14 years, it is time for me to switch banks. FNB has ATMs conveniently located all over Lancaster, but their customer service is absolutely terrible. A few years ago I needed a small loan for a few months. Even though I had been banking at FNB for several years the terms they offered me were so bad, that it was MUCH cheaper for me to use one of those fake checks the credit card companies send you in the mail. I paid off the credit card company in two months and saved a lot of money. When FNB changed their monthly checking account statements, the updated version no longer provided the grid for customers to balance their statement. When I was in the bank I told the clerk I preferred the previous statements and I asked if I could have the grid included in my monthly statement. The two clerks working the counter literally laughed in my face and told me "No one balances their checkbook anymore." However, these incidents pale in comparison to my most recent encounters. I went into FNB and asked to have my debit card daily limit raised so I could purchase a car at a dealership using my card instead of financing it. I was told it was simply impossible to have my limit raised that high even though I had the money in my checking account. So, after I found the vehicle I wanted to purchase I went back to FNB and attempted to withdrawal the cash to purchase the vehicle. The people working there acted like I must be criminal to have that much money in the bank. I was questioned about what vehicle I was buying and where, and I was told to write down my profession on a piece of paper for their records. But the most unforgivable thing was I was told my military ID was not considered proper identification and I could not use it to withdrawal my own money from my FNB checking account. A military ID is federally issued and is an acceptable form of ID everywhere but at FNB. I am now in the process of having all my automatic bill payments changed to my new banks checking account and I will gladly say good-bye to FNB forever. FNB, I guess I'm just old fashioned, but I do balance my checkbook every month and I do expect good customer service.

We are sorry you were disappointed with our bank. We want our clients to share their experiences or ask questions of a bank leader when these things occur, so we can promptly address any confusion or take steps to better serve you. We do have the account balancing worksheets available for our clients who prefer to use them. We’ll make sure all offices review this tool with their associates, as well as the card limit increase process, as a result of your feedback. Military ID is an acceptable form of ID for most services with our bank. Because banks are prohibited from making photocopies of a military ID, there are times when a state-issued ID is preferred (if possible) for certain required forms. Again, we apologize if our associates didn’t communicate clearly or help you have a more positive experience. We realize you’ve already chosen a new bank, but please know if you’d like speak with our head of personal banking or another bank leader, we’d gladly make a direct connection for you.

WARNING!!! DO NOT USE FAIRFIELD NATIONAL BANK FOR YOUR SAVINGS ACCOUNT! Fisrt I should say that Fairfield National Bank is not my primary bank. I have done the majority of my banking through Chase (who I have never had a problem with) but because my parents bank through Fairfield National I decided to set up a savings account with Fairfield National when I moved out on my own 2 years ago. Since then I have gotten married and decided to join savings accounts with my husband who also banks with Chase. I went in today during one of those blue moon moments when the planets align to where a normal working adult actually has the time off when the bank is also open to go in to deal with closing down my account at Fairfield National and transferring the money over to Chase. So my first question to the tellers who were all just loitering around was about the best way to transfer my money. I was trying to find out how to electronically transfer the funds from Fairfield National to Chase. I was informed that that is not an option and that I would have to transfer the money myself... in cash...?! Is this the 1800's?! I just find it hard to believe that in 2018 there isn't a better method than me having to personally carry thousands of dollars around myself. The second problem is that they refused to give me my money back because they said my account is inactive! In my experience a savings account is by nature less active than a checking account because most ey goes in and the idea is to not take it back out! but these people with very little interest inform me I will have to fill out paperwork and apply to have my account re activated! The girl asks me if I'd like to do that and I said of course because my only other option is to let them keep my money forever?! So now I have to wait days or maybe even a week and find another time to go back in in person to get my money out in cash and move it myself at a later date. My question is WHERE is the customer service? All I can say is thank God it's not an emergency that I needed the money for immediately or I would be in serious trouble! I didn't realize that when I gave Fairfield National my money that I was giving them full control to hold it indefinitely and refuse to give it back. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Fairfield National Bank.

Hi Savannah. We are sorry to hear about your less than acceptable experience at our office. Unfortunately, if a savings account has not had any withdrawal or transfer activity for 24 months or more, it is considered inactive. it sounds like that is what happened with your account. A simple form can be completed to reactivate the account. We can then cut a check for the funds for you, or if you have Online Banking, you can transfer the funds to another account with another bank that accepts electronic transfers. We have made the Assistant Manager of the office aware of your situation, and she would like the chance to speak with you and make this situation right. If you would like to give her a call, her name is Stacey Kennedy and she can be reached at 740.653.1422. Again, we apologize for your unfortunate experience at our office.

Super thankful for this bank. They were willing to seat me and notarize a few documents very close to closing. Couldn’t speak highly enough of this branch. We need more Kates in the world!

How can a bank text you a message to reply 1 and a certain loan officer will call you, you reply 1 no call. When you call them they say that person is out of the office. So who texted? Then put on hold for 40 min before anyone came back to the phone. Also where are these people? And why can't I speak to someone who works at this bank? Ridiculous hoops to go through! Been an hour after my appt and told sorry there is no one available. Poor customer service!
