Was terminated by the company I worked for due to financial problems the company is experiencing (no fault of mine) The owner of the company requested the distribution I requested due to being terminated, and it was denied. He was told to re-do the request paperwork and change the reason to retired which was not true. Their reason according to PAI was "according to the plan agreement upon review, per your Adoption Agreement, the definition of retirement is: “The Latter of Attainment of the age 65 and the anniversary of the 5th year of Plan participation” Based on the Adoption Agreement, <participant> does meet this definition. As a result, we would need the distribution reason of the attached form revised to reflect the correct type of distribution. I don't know where they get off deciding whether I was terminated without cause, or retired. In either case I believe they are trying to drag it out so that they can collect another months service charge. In the meantime they refuse to process the distribution requested of the money I put in the 401K over the last 5 or 6 years. I am not happy
Per your 401(k) Plan Document, as agreed upon by your employer, distributions are permitted for employees over the age of 65 with five or more years of service in the plan. PAi’s internal procedures and audit controls require that such distributions be identified and processed as retirement distributions. This does not change the status of your distribution or affect whether or not you can take the distribution. We simply need the form to reflect the correct type of distribution, which in this case, according to your Plan Document, is retirement. We apologize for not communicating this change up front when your employer reached out to us prior to your termination date. Once the reason for the distribution is corrected on your Distribution Request Form, we will be able to process your distribution. One of our Customer Care Representatives will be reaching out to you to follow up in regards to the Distribution Request Form and to ensure the process is completed timely.

Excessive and unnecessary beneficiary distribution requirements, slow processing time, processing fees taken out of distributions. Not a good company to work with

Pain in the rear end to get set up. I have had many 401k plans as well as other online financials and have never had this hard of a time getting my account set up. The customer care rep that was assigned to my account had emailed stating that if we needed more help with setting up our account to go ahead and call the main line and pick from one of two generic options for help. I called that number and was graced with a very snippy, unhelpful lady. After not being helped with anything on my account I felt used and under appreciated for my business. They have no issues collecting their fees and not providing any type of service. I gave it a few minutes before I called the said assigned customer care rep so I could calm down. After speaking to her I about lost my mind as she was no help either. I then emailed the financial person that sold me on this company and asked her to call me ASAP as I am ready to cancel this whole thing! She called me and listened to me vent. I'm still ready to move onto another company as I truly feel that this company is playing just above a scam as a company. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Pai is a quality firm and will provide an excellent platform for your 401k. They are very helpful and want you to get the most for your company. I 100% believe if you have a small company which needs a retirement they would be better than 99% of all choices. They provide the TPA, custodian and record keeping all in one for a very reasonable price. I 100% recommend!!!!

Spoke w/Hanna today. Exceptional service. Went well out of her way to help a non-HR person mitigate both site & executive direction. Give her a raise. Today. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. I truly wish I had a choice about who administers my 401K. If I did it would NOT be PAI. I requested a loan from my 401K on 11/22/13. I was told by PAI my check was mailed on 11/26/13. Here it is 12/12/13 (14 mail days later) and I still have not received my check. I contacted PAI and they want to charge me $35.00 to stop payment, $25.00 to reissue and $35.00 to overnight my check to me. $95.00. FREAKING RIDICULOUS.

401k hell We signed up our small business with Sharebuilder 401k. Somehow PAI "administers" it. So basically they do nothing in this digital age. So my employees are all young now and do not want to participate. I go to cancel and there is $1000 fee and multiple other fees per participants.... Unbelievable Stay away from both sharebuilder and pai

Somehow my 401k that I thought was with Eaton Vance was transferred to PAI. After a long search looking for my 401k I find it all gone because of fees. Fees I never agreed to or knew they existed. Thanks for blowing my fund for me. That was my hard earned money I had been saving for retirement.

It has been impossible to cash out my 401k. They refuse to send my paperwork or even answer a phone call or return one.. I believe they are trying to keep my money .
