The broken dishwasher was known about before our arrival and still had not been fixed by the time we left. It sucks doing dishes by hand every day, for 9 people, while you are SUPPOSED to be on vacation. There were a list of other things that needed fixed. A few of the things that WE didn't take care of, were taken care of by Blue while we were there. "If you see something, say something". Well, we did.... so you're welcome next renters of Sea Scapes. A big complaint everyone had was how dirty things were. Air vents, lint trap in dryer, dishes... I suggest that someone do random walkthroughs to verify the work of the cleaning crew. This is our second time renting with Blue. I hope you guys take customers suggestions to heart and work on changing some things.
Hi Rebecca, we're very sorry for the issue with the dishwasher and the frustration that caused with it not working. We wish whatever was wrong was a simple fix but we had an electrician looking at it and could not figure it out. It's been resolved now, but I'm sorry this happened after your stay. We do take your recommendations seriously and again we're very sorry for how this stay with us went. Please give us a third chance so we can show you that we can do better.

This house and location was perfect for us. House was clean and stocked. We watched the sun rise every morning- beautiful beachfront! We loved our short time there! Most impressively- Halie from OBBlue checked in with us daily! We'll be back!

The staff goes above and beyond! Prior to our arrival a mix up was handled and saved our Thanksgiving away! Then after our trip my father-in-law left behind some jackets, to which they promptly found & sent back to him. I can't say enough how great their service was!! This was my family's first visit to the Outer Banks and our next trip we will use Outer Banks Blue again!

Beautiful house, responsive customer service. We had some minor maintenance issues (burned out pool lights, etc); they sent out a guy named John that same day, and he went out of his way to make sure everything was set right. Will definitely choose properties from Blue again.

Deplorable people who do not want to make your vacation relaxing or help when something goes wrong with their properties. They should be ashamed of how they treat people and their overall lack of care and assistance when things go wrong. Most other places are accommodating. Return calls, offer assistance and are honest. This one is not.

This will be out second year renting with Outer Banks Blue. I've been going to Nags Head for over 20 years and this is by far the best rental company on the island! Unfortunately we had the displeasure of staying at a blue rental near the beginning of September. We got there first it was not clean they told us it could be late as 6 till we get it cleaned then I called my mom who was told it had been cleaned so they got a new cleaning service out there who were very friendly and nice but still the house was not at the place it should be i will post the second post cleaning photos Also had a fan light fall off the fan and fall 3 inches from my head. Toilet paper holders were off with exposed screws, cobwebs, bugs, filthy carpets and furniture, dirty showers/bathrooms exc. They did not have bed bugs so that is nice at least. For some reason they change the code an hour before check out and my young sons were inside thankfully with my mother but could of easily locked themselves in the house since we would not of known the new code. I expressed I felt my mom deserved a partial refund for the day we waited around for cleaning crews but I was told they don't give partial refunds for time wasted. I do not think my family will be using one of the facilities from Blue again but I am sure some of the houses maybe nice just not the one we stayed in.
While Stillwater is a wonderful property, it is not a 5 star hotel, which seems to be your expectations. Most of the photos you provided, on Facebook, I see little or nothing wrong. Again, we apologize for the broken globe that fell. We do not know how this happened. It may have been a previous guest that hit it and put it back improperly. To our knowledge many guests stayed in there before you with no issue. If someone damaged it they did not share this information with us. I am very sorry you discovered this in a scary way and I am very happy you were unharmed. I also apologize for the black mildew you discovered in the bathrooms. That is certainly not up to our standards and will be addressed with our staff. Ideally, the property is perfect and ready to go for a guest's arrival, but there are a few things to consider anytime you stay in a vacation rental. Remember, this is someone's house you're staying in, not a hotel. When you stay in September at least 15 weeks of guests came before you. Some treat the property well and some do not. The carpet and upholstery will sometimes have stains from guest or show a lot of worn in high traffic areas. This is normal and not unsanitary. We take care of these in the off-season because it often takes multiple days to repair these properly (and without harmful chemicals). The same is true of damages to walls, when they're minor. We will wait for the off season to patch and paint. People will come earlier in the season when a property will be at its freshest, but they also pay 3-4 times the price of what you paid. It is the back to back use and guest wear and tear that cause the rates to begin to be cheaper in mid-August and become substantially less by September. This is the normal beach vacation rental industry for the entire U.S. It does not mean the property is less sanitary, it only means it will show wear from a summer of use.

Ive been renting from these folks for years and have never had a bad experience. One of the things I love is that the pricing on the website is all inclusive. There are no add on fees like for linens and such, like other places, besides tax, the price you see is the price you pay.

Casa Del Mar was everything I expected. If I were to rate the agent who booked me and the home itself, I would give them a five rating. When I booked this location my agent asked what the occasion was and I told her my 50th birthday celebration. When we arrived there was a bouquet of flowers wishing me a happy birthday from my agent. My celebration was fabulous, but ended on a sour note when Blue outer Banks vacations management arrived at our door the next morning with contract in hand stating they received a complaint about over crowding and too many cars parked on the street and grass. The two advised me that they don't allow for parties or catered events (of which nothing was catered each guest arrived with a dish). They proceed to speak about the septic tank and how over crowding can cause major problems. Well, did I mention that Casa Del Mar is a 9 bedroom 8 bathroom home that sleeps 26 people. Well, I had 32 guest of which five couples rented rooms at the Hampton inn and when management arrived the next day there were only 7 cars parked at the home. Did I mention that their were 7 BMW newer model cars, Lexus's and many other Luxury vehicles that attended my celebration and not to mention we are black Americans, which I believe was the real reason for the complaint. My guests are all professionals (Doctors, educators, retired military, retired police officers, active police officers, business owners etc.). Yet and still something illegal must have being going on because of our skin color. Shame on the person who made the complaint for their ignorant bias and shame on blue outer Banks management for entertaining that foolishness. This was my first time visiting the outer Banks and it was truly beautiful, but I had been warned that they do not take kindly to black Americans and I guess they proved right. So with that being said I will continue my stays at the outer Banks just not with this company.
Mrs. Young I happen to be the person who sent you the flowers. Somehow I think something has been misinterpreted. Maybe these items will clear this up. That weekend it was reported to us on two other occasions that properties were over-occupied. We are required to investigate when this occurs. One of the other ones we investigated was a college group who was hosting a party at the property and some things were occurring that led to them being evicted. This happens to be the time of year where this happens a lot unfortunately. The investigation had everything to do with us doing our job. No one knew your race until we showed up at the property. They are required to look around and make sure everything is okay. If they didn't look around as they should and it turned out something was very wrong then we could have been liable. We were just doing our job. What they quoted about occupancy limits, which is determined in this area by the septic, is correct. They could have evicted you over this, but saw no need. The gentleman who was there is a bit shocked of being accused of being racist. He thought he left you with everything being fine, and could tell it was a harmless party of responsible individuals. Perhaps the misinterpretation is coming from not understanding our obligations as the rental management company. Doesn't matter what race you are. We've got to do our job.
