First off, the location closest to me is "temporarily closed" when every other location is still open. Second off, needed to order checks which cost near 27$ when most places will do it for free. Third off, when I ordered said checks.. The teller did not tell me that the cost of the checks will deduct when the checks are shipped, nor when the checks would ship. She led me to believe the cost was current at the time. After a few automated bills hit me prior to their shipment of the checks, my account went into the negative when the checks finally shipped. They charged me a $30 "convience fee!!" I called the customer service line, and after talking to the rep over the phone: taking time away from my job; she said she would not be able to refund the $30 for the error on their part!! I'm furious😤, and I will be conducting my business elsewhere. But good news, I'll start the new year off right with a change of a frustrating business 🥳
Dear Ms. Lowens: New Horizons Credit Union prides itself on delivering excellent member service. We have attempted to look up your incident in our records to research, but cannnot find any matches. Please feel free to email [email protected] as you may go by a different name. In the meantime, please know that, like a lot of other businesses - staffing has become an issue. So, yes, one of our branches is closed because of limited staff as the sign says, and we are working dillegently to hire. If you know someone qualified, please send them our way. As far as our Check Pricing - we have a variety of checks to choose from. Keep in mind our check pricing with shipping costs (which we have no control over) will seem high. But, our basic check prices are very competitive in our market according to a recent survey. Please know that shippiing is becoming more difficult to predict because of the pandemic. The usual 7-10 days has been closer to 10 days plus a couple. The Credit Union does offer free checks for certain types of accounts and for our Club 55 Members. Again, without getting more information about you, we cannot research the other items you mentioned, but most financial institutions you order checks from will eventually deduct your account for the cost. We apologize that our representative didn't explain our check ordering process better, and we will remind our staff to do so to avoid any misunderstanding in the future. The employee that helped me today (Kaitlyn) the best attitude in the banking business. I pass other locations of the credit union branches to come to this one. All employees at this branch gives A+ customer service no matter what I am coming in for.

Mrs. Shelia is simply a delightful lady. She was so very kind and attentive and extremely helpful and has a beautiful smile. She made our visit very welcoming and I felt taken care of. She’s a boss lady.

Communication seems very poor. Attempted to refinance a vehicle with this credit union, was approved for the loan, provide all requested documents and it’s taking weeks. Constantly get promised that the loan officer will contact me and never does so on the promised days.

The online banking to make payments on an auto loan is non-existent and the drive thru process is consistently slow. In other words, making monthly payments on loans is very inconvenient and out-dated. It’s literally the only check I have to write every month. BUT, the 1.99% interest rate keeps me coming back.

We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced in our drive thru, but we want to make you aware that New Horizons CU does offer a variety of ways to pay your loan, so you don’t have to visit a branch. We offer many ways to pay your loan online. When you sign up for Online and Mobile Banking, you can make transfers from your NHCU checking or savings account to your NHCU loan. We also offer Bill Pay so you can set up electronic payments to your NHCU loan. This feature can be accessed through Online and Mobile Banking after you enroll through our website. You can also pay your loan through our Voice-24 feature. You can enroll in this feature by calling our Member Services Center at 251-316-3240 Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm so they can assign you a unique Voice-24 access code. This feature lets you pay your loan through the phone without the need to visit a branch. We also have the option to drop off your loan payments at any Night Drop Box at our branches. These Night Drop Boxes are checked Monday- Friday at 8:30 am to process any payments that were dropped off. Do not do any business with this Credit Union. About one month ago, my brother deposited a check for me via the night depository. The check had a date on it that was two days in the future from the date that it was deposited. I received a call from New Horizons stating that they could not process it early because it was postdated. Fast forward to last weekend, I sent two checks to the credit union to pay two loans I have with them. One check was dated for October 29, 2021 and one was dated for November 5, 2021. Please keep in mind that the credit union does not accept post dated checks. The credit union presented both checks for payment on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. This caused my account to be overdrawn. Ms. Brittany was supposed to have the credit union pull the checks and reverse the charges. She promised to call me back but never did. When, I called her she said she would check with the lady handling this. I wish that I had sufficient funds to pay both loans in full. I would close my account and never do business with them again. Prior to this situation, I had never had any issues with them. You have been warned.

We have investigated and determined that due to the initial call happening very late in the day, our representative was not able to get back as promised and for this we greatly apologize. However, she is getting back with you today. For security and privacy reasons, we cannot go into detail about your personal account through this method of communication, but our rep will be reaching out to you get a little more information to hopefully resolve the situation. Please know in the future, that we do not accept post-dated checks because - although we do our best to catch these, sometimes it is not caught in time. And, in your case, it was left with many other deposits/payments in a night drop box. As you can see - post-dated checks lend themselves to unintentional issues. And, most financial institutions will tell you the same. I highly recommend not to try to deposit post-dated checks in the future. Don’t bank here long waits , no locations literally one in mobile , Rude staff and your account constantly gets hacked your money isn’t safe here ,, The employees constantly make fun of customers and they have no protection whatsoever for your money my account was hacked and 5000 was stolen and they didn’t care ,, the company has fallen so low do yourself a favor and go to another bank

Worst Credit Union hands down! Do not be fooled by the fake 5 star reviews. They make up fees and has been hacked on several occasions. Your information nor your money is safe here!! Management is rude, Tellers are rude and unprofessional. The lady Lawanda was the worst!!! Do not bank here!!!!!!
