We have been members for over 35 years. Since joining, their service has degraded while costs for checks etc have risen. Now we have a pandemic and there is no way to actually speak to a rep (they simple hang-up) AND the only way to check on the status of my VISA is to use the 888 number they now post as a way to make contact for anything. Terrible.

This is a former employee review. This company does not care about you, they care more for the PIP plan and shedding weight for others to get a better bonus. Please be really careful as they back only the large accounts with-in the organization and will cut you loose even if the other organization or account is lying. Their EVP(s) is/are leaving as well as the senior level are walking away from the organization due to the direction. The new CEO is creating a toxic environment for new hires and employee treatment with nothing to keep her in check.

Everytime I call this establishment they're very rude and not helpful. I recently had an unauthorized charge to my credit card, which I disputed twice now. Everytime I call them it ends with me mad, after they aggravate me to the point of no return. If your in the armed service, please do not bank with this so called credit union. Very disgusted with how they've treated my whole family since serving.

Do not waist your time applying for a mortgage here. After over 10 years of being a member, I applied for a mortgage with them. With excellent credit and income I found myself in a situation where I was almost being judged for buying a place downtown, they asked me "why do you want to move from the suburbs to downtown DC!" hah this is ridiculous... I ended up canceling my application. Anyway a word of advice, have a plan B, thats what I did, I had another company process my load and I closed in a month. Navy Federal might be good for basic banking but not when it comes to things that matters, such as a simple mortgage.

My husband and I have been members of NFCU for 30 years. We are in the process of closing all our accounts and refinancing our home because of the NFCU mortgage department. Over the past few years, I had to call NFCU each year and make sure they pay my insurance premiums. The premiums are part of the escrow and are due the same time every year. Each year our insurance company sends the bill to NFCU and they do not pay it until I get them on the phone in a conference call and make them pay it. This year was even worse. NFCU continues sent me letters asking for proof of hazard insurance. Our insurance company has provided this information directly to NFCU. NFCU purchased additional coverage for our home without our consent and is now trying to charge us for it. NFCU mortgage office clearly does not know what they are doing.

I've had NFCU for over 18 years and they are the best bank ever. As they have grown, so have their services. I remember when you had to call during certain hours to get service - but that was before the internet.. Also.. the person that posted that last review about the limited number of ATMs. Perhaps you should read the letters and/or notices you get from NFCU. They are members of the CO-OP network.. they have ATM's EVERYWHERE. I can go to any bank that is a member of the CO-OP network and get money from their ATMs with no fees! You can also go to ANY 7-Eleven and get money with no fees. I even have one intersection here in Phoenix that has 3 ATM locations at one intersection. Very convenient!

Poor customer service = terrible reflection given its location and considering it is HQ

From One Bad Bank to Another. This company was so easy to sign up the first time. However, signing up a relative is the most difficult time consuming, hateful process. Already, I got a bad impression of this bank, however, the bank we are leaving is just as Bad.

I visited the branch to take out some cash for a vacation overseas. Jackie helped me and she was very kind and informative. She even reminded me to do a couple of things like put notice on my accounts since I would be traveling.

Aniyah Is a terrible go rewards customer service rep. Highly don’t recommend the card or calling for help. Navy federal doesn’t know what “help” is.
