I've been a customer of Navigant of ten years. I just dealt with customer service, and the one lady I dealt with just ruined the whole last ten years I had with Navigant. So rude, and condescending. I will now be switching my banks because of that.

Never get a loan from them. You can't pay online with an external bank and their customer service is beyond horrid

I just called Smithfield Navigant and spoke to Juan today. I made a transaction on December 31on my debit card. I made the necessary transactions during the timeframe I needed to for the rewards checking. Juan refused to deduct the atm fee. He claims the transaction didn't clear. Considering the following day was a Friday which was a holiday, then the weekend, this is not my fault. I don't appreciate being treated like I'm bothering you once again. I have my money in your bank because it's tied up. It's appalling that I'm going thru this again. Talking to the employees and then supervisor (Juan) wasn't a pleasant experience. Someone saying sorry over and over is unprofessional. I made the transaction during the month's timeframe.

    Response from the owner

Hi Andrew. We're sorry for your experience with us. We've passed along this feedback to our member experience team, who will be looking into this, and reaching out. Thank you.

I got a notice saying that there was an inquire on my Credit report. I looked it up and sure enough Navigant Credit Union was staring me in the face. I contacted Navigant and they told me they dont have any record, when I provided them with a copy of the piece of the report that stated that it was indeed a hard pull they told me they only did it because it was authorized. I never authorized this pull and asked them to remove it..... the refused and insisted it was not them even after proof was provided. see attached pic for further proof. I will be visiting my local court this week. UPDATE!!! (5/23/2017) Navigant Credit union states that they have located the source of the issue, however they have done nothing with the knowledge to fix the issue. Navigant Credit Union continues to violation federal and state law on pulling peoples credit report (Hard Pull) without authorization.

Once again, this bank exceeds my expectations . They caught fraud on my account before I did. They only allowed one transaction to go through, then restricted my account. Further, they already refunded me the money within two days. Great job Navigant. You have a customer for life. Thank you for the professionalism of your branch rep in Smithfield, Rachel Soder, and your service rep I spoke with before I went in. P.S. I got there ten minutes before closing, and Rachel showed no signs of irritation being a late in the day arrival. She didn't rush anything, and this is BIG to me. Please recognize her.

    Response from the owner

Thank you for the kind words, Dawn! We appreciate your business.

Navigant relies so heavily on mediocre 3rd party services (for bill pay, debit cards, their website, etc.) that they seem more like a middleman than an actual financial institution. And if you encounter a problem with any of these services they provide via a 3rd party, you're screwed. Even their own services have issues. EVERY year for 3 years straight we've encountered a major issue with this joint. 3 years ago they tried to bait and switch, raising the interest rate on our fixed mortgage by 2% from the original specified rate when we sat down to close. 2 years ago they began applying our mortgage payments late because of processing issues and some system upgrade nonsense. It took months and the CEO getting involved to fix the problem. Last year, my debit card was randomly shut off, and I discovered that debit card customer service is non-existent outside of bank hours, leaving me with no cash in an emergency situation. Last month I scheduled a bill payment using their bill pay service. Their interactive payment calendar showed the payment would be sent on a Fri (it was Thurs when scheduled) and arrive Monday. Nope. They sent the payment on Mon, arriving Tues. This triggered a $29 late charge and $60+ in interest from my credit card. I contacted Navigant asking them to compensate me for the late fee and interest since this was the fault of their system (and had they just told me it'd be sent on Mon, I'd have paid it using other means) and a foreign rep from the 3rd party bill pay company called me. He got the credit card company on the line and tried to put the blame on them, when I specifically explained this was not their fault...it was Navigant/Digital Insight/Whoever's fault. The guy told me there was nothing he could do. I told him this was the last straw and we were going to pull all of our accounts out of Navigant. He didn't care. So now we'll make good on that threat. Navigant used to be a great financial institution, but either through growing too fast or management making bad decisions and selecting inept vendors, they have fallen far from where they used to be. I can't imagine service from any of the big banks could be worse.

I called navigant about how long it would take for a refund to put the money back in to my account from a order I did. They said it depend on the seller I asked the seller and they said it was instant. I told then that and the person said it sould be instant on there end I look about one hour later after the refund was filed, and it wasent there and I been every hour since still nothing. And when i called them about it they were closed I sould not recommended the bank. Also I never had an issue fro the seller before about refunds and they would be posted in my account pending. In this case it doesn't even show I did a refund.

I've been with Navigant Credit Union since I was 15. I recently called the Smithfield location for some customer service help and I received the worst customer service in my entire life. When I called I spoke to a woman name "Ciara". She was so rude and obnoxious to me from the time she answered the phone. I put up with her snark remarks and her tone of voice because she said the issue would be resolved in 48 hours. Over a week later, I call again. Ciara answered the phone again! This time, she was even more obnoxious. She refused to put me on with a manager. She transferred me to another woman named "Alisha" and I had the same exact experience with Alisha. So now, I have spoken to 2 woman about the same issue and each one of them has talked to me with such arrogance and intolerable behavior. I have worked in customer service and I know that this is not behavior that should be allowed. I am very appalled at the way they handled such a small issue.

    Response from the owner

Love Navigant! Over ten years plus, Jeff Cascione has gone above and beyond on my Residential, Commercial, Land, and New Construction purchases. Extremely helpful during the purchase process. The checking and savings can’t be beat as well. Low rates and minimal fees. I’ve dealt with almost all big banks over the years. Navigant blows them away for all banking needs in Rhode Island.

This is the worst credit union I've ever known they dry you up to burn you. When you ask why there are new charges the explanation is incomprehensible and also the payment online or using the app is poor cuz always verify that they receive the payment because it is always a headache.I’m crazy that I spend at least 6 mos to get another reliable and realible bank.
