Monticello Banking Company S Hwy, Somerset

I got sick and went to town for medicine my DR advised me to take. As luck would have it, I encountered car trouble, requiring a tow truck and that's when I discovered my bank card would not work, not even at a teller machine, although I knew i had funds in my account to cover everything i needed. Medicine and a safe way home. I got neither due to my bank card being blocked by a bank I've been loyal to. I had to walk home from Somerset to Eubank, alone at night and sick. The following morning I ended up in the hospital(Covid-19). Later I discovered the bank blocked my card because they "Claimed" they never received my change of address. I'm not upset with the tow truck driver, he didn't know me therefore he had no reason to trust me when it came to getting paid for his services, however, Monticello Bank did know me, if just through my positive banking history with them. A lot of things could of happened that night walking home, and let me just mention that I did do change of address and sent cards out, and NOT ONCE did anyone from the bank, who I have NO loans with, just money account, who was so concerned about my physical address, NEVER ONCE called, text, email, or wrote to ask for that information. Information that I had no idea they didn't receive.

Banking with them for over 6 years, somehow every large check has a hold even though I can go to United Cumberland and get it flat out cashed. Sad how they treat customers.

My husband and I have enjoyed banking at Monticello bank. The staff are always friendly and willing to help. It has been an enjoyable experience.
