I have been banking with them for years. Had a horrible experience today with the drive through tellers. They have to hold my check for 5 days because of something stupid with my boss sending me a check and it bounced on HIS side. I will never do business with member One again

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL: The branch itself did not do anything to illicit my change in review. Sarah Largen, a Manager from Roanoke who does help out at the Christiansburg Office called me and gave me a very sincere apology as well as corrected my issues. She reached out based on this review and by the end of our conversation I was very pleased with the resolution she provided. In my opinion, she went above and beyond to make things right. Thank you Sarah! Your help and kindness are very much appreciated! If I could leave 0 Stars I would. By far the worst banking experience I have ever had. I've given them the benefit of doubt over the years with lots of things. I will be taking my checking, savings, car loan, and line of credit elsewhere. Customer loyalty means nothing to them nor does keeping an account in good standing with no issues. They are extremely unhelpful and do not want to do anything to resolve problems when they arise.

After banking with them for over 30 years, they refused to cash a $20 check I had written to a lady who helped me clean house because I hadn't filled in the "pay to" section. I even called and spoke to the manager of tellers who refused and said she couldn't verify my identity by phone even though they had many times before when I called in to get account information. I know they did it because my cleaning lady didn't look like someone who had money or could cause them problems. I will be ending my account there asap. How great they are to protect that $20. This is the Christiansburg office. Just plain mean.

0 customer service since getting a car loan with this bank, 30 minute plus wait every time you call. Cannot get clear answers, no return calls unless it's"i called" phone tag messages with no feedback. Their online pay system is a joke through bacon pay and as a penalty to having any issues during covid they take away your ability to pay online at all, you have to call. My husband went into the branch to make a payment in person, the loan is in HIS name and because he had lost his atm card and used mine and I wasn't there they refused to take the payment at all. 😡 extremely difficult to work with. I will not bank with them or finance with them in the future.

Rude as heck! Steals your money to pay scammers keep you from working and keeps your account negative from stealing money from you so they intentionally put you in jail! Horrible place!!! Liars work here saying they made the payment and didn't!!

I first became a member of Member One CU when purchasing my car and shopping for the best loan. I have since consolidated my debts, and have 1 monthly payment with an excellent low percentage rate. My experience over this time has been nothing short of wonderful! Daniel Haller helped me to navigate my way to becoming debt free in a manor that has totally relieved my stress! I enjoyed my time talking with him and with appreciate his expertise! We came up with a game plan so much better than I could have imagined! I've had a few issues with this bank but today clinched it. The first incident I had was when it took forever for me to receive my bank card until I emailed the gentleman that helped me open my account a card was sent ASAP through FedEx. 2nd issue was when I was working on a Saturday morning and I call their 540 number, which I assume is a direct number to the bank but I was told in another call it's not I ask what time the bank will close and I am told 1 pm, I arrive 4 min. past noon and they are closed. This time I deposit a check through their mobile app and still the transaction is pending. Now I've deposited checks before through a larger worldwide banking system and it clears in minutes. The teller tells me it takes 3 days for it to clear and it tells you that in the fine print, by the way, this woman looks like she enjoys giving bad news by the way she tells you and the look on her face. This bank is the worst but I'm guessing this is what you can expect with a small-town institution.

The bank itself is fine. It functions as any other would. However... EVERY FREAKING TIME I try to call, I am sent to a call center. I have never sat on hold for less than 10 minutes. The call tree when you first call is SO long and annoying. The whole process of trying to talk to these people for anything is frustrating, annoying and honestly I dread it. This should have been fixed years ago, yet I continue to deal with it forever. I'm sure I am not the only one that has this frustration. EDIT: as I write this, I have sat on hold for 24 minutes and have not spoke with anyone. I decided to hang up and might take my business elsewhere.
