This was my first home purchase ever, something that is supposed to be great in life and LGI in Evans has made a nightmare. My home construction was pushed back and the only reason I was notified about this was because I asked why there was no production in my home for 2 weeks. Houses that where started 1 full month or more after mine actually ended up being completed before mine. After it was finally completed I had a walk through with Tyler Maxwell at first he started being polite. After I started pointing out defects on the house, the more I pointed out Tyler became rude. At one point he kind of made a snarky remark about my father. I also noticed he did not have knowledge on the process of the repairs. As of now my house does not have window screens on any of my windows or patio door. My walls have two different tones of paint. I have broken trims as well as trims with texture sprayed through out the house. My dish washer doesn’t turn on because the outlet it is hooked up in has no power. I have missing gutter for water flow. My back sliding door does not lock because it is missing the lock. I am missing a light on top of my shower so I have to shower in the dark. Nails in my roof are exposed so with time they will rust and eventually leak. The walls they did a horrible job taping the joints and they have lines all over because the sheet rock over lap. After I pointed all this out I expressed my concerns and wanted this fixed I refused to close and sign until it all got fixed. Chris Welpott the sales manager forced and threatened me if I did not sign that day I would loose my house. Unfortunately with the house market now I had no choice but to sign or wait another 1.5 years for another house. I definitely will never buy another house from LGI and will for sure prevent anyone I know from buying a house from LGI.

    Response from the owner

Hi Ubaldo, we take pride in the quality of our homes. We have on-site construction managers to oversee the entire build process and our homes undergo several inspections by third-party inspectors. We are extremely concerned to hear about your experience as it does not align with our expectations. Our homes are backed by several warranties and we encourage you to submit any warranty claims to our online warranty portal here: lgihomes.corrigo.com.

Customer service is horrible, I am currently a home owner and have tried to follow the chain of command to get my needs met. Work orders are being marked complete when they have not been completed. Everyone keeps giving me the same run around excuses and nothing gets resolved. Webpage claims work order submissions are followed up with the next day and that’s not happening. Unsatisfied with the lack of communication I’ve been receiving with the whole LGI team. I’ve had my cabinet broken for more than two months and after being told I was going through the warranty process all communication stoped. My cabinet is still not fixed and all my cabinets are loose enough if I put enough weight they will come off. My grass was replaced after constantly bugging to get replaced, it got replaced which I am thankful for but within two days these are the results(pictures attached). Not enough soil is being added before the instal. It’s being watered three times a day for 10 mins each with my sprinkler system and still these are the results. My cabinet completely collapsed in my master bedroom. The undermount sink wasn’t installed properly and this was the result of it. This happened one week ago and I am still without a sink. My garage has still not been touched up with paint with the work order being submitted, again more than two months ago. The excuse I am getting is it’s too hot to paint the garage and the paint would not stick. I am overwhelmed with what route to go to now just to get my needs heard. I have tried to communicate with everyone and no one is giving me the right customer service. Update: I am almost a month in without my sink being fixed. No response to my original complaint. My work order states it was acknowledged and I have not received any calls to reassure me this is being worked on. My work order is due tomorrow and I doubt it would be completed as I have not heard anything in regards to my complaints. My complaints were followed up on today and they were not professional or courteous about it. I am asking for management/VP to reach out and speak to me about my issues not having a resolution please.

    Response from the owner

Hugh Fitzpatrick was awesome. The team was so great. When we ran into a problem with our outside lender they jumped on it and got us hooked up with Andrea with Cross Country, less than a month before we were supposed to close. Andrea was amazing and got us set and we closed on time. I can’t thank Hugh and Chris with LGI enough. Words cannot express my gratitude and love I have for LGI. I would recommend them to everyone. This house buying adventure was easy and awesome.

    Response from the owner

Thank you for the review, Patricia!

Josh was amazing! Buying a new home can be stressful. He spent 5 hours with us. Super nice guy! Took his time making sure we were comfortable. Unfortunately we ended up not buying after being given the run around with the loan office and LGI ended up keeping our earnest money. Lol. Thank you for that. after reading all these reviews I'm kinda glad we didn't buy.

    Response from the owner

Thank you for the review! We are glad you enjoyed working with Josh.

Am I ever going to get the screens to my windows since they were on "back order"? Or will we have to suffer all summer with a broken AC and no screens? Not at all impressed with LGI!

    Response from the owner

Hi Haley, we are sorry to hear about the experience you had. We understand your frustration and disappointment and many of the items you have outlined are very abnormal and not reflective of the experience we pride ourselves on. Please be sure to submit any items you are unsatisfied with through the warranty portal for the most streamlined resolution. We have contacted local management and requested that someone follow up with you about any outstanding claims you have. Thank you.

I have been very disappointed throughout the entire process of purchasing our home. LGI never gave us updates during the building process. We continually had to call to find out the details and when our house was going to be finished and when we could close. When we did the walk through there were several things that needed to be fixed such as nails sticking out, caulking, the refrigerator didn’t work, and there was cracking in some of the pickets in the fence. They assured us that everything would be taken care of by closing and that they would clean up the trash left by the workers. After the closing we were shocked because they hadn’t completed ANYTHING on the list. We let them know this and they did replace the refrigerator but everything else they have ghosted us on. We had a bad storm and had gallons of water pouring out of the fan in our bathroom. We called Tyler Maxwell and sent him pictures and he completely ignored us. We submitted a work order a couple weeks ago and still have not heard a thing. I have heard from. MANY others that they are experiencing the same issues we are and they have not been fixed and they keep getting ignored. I think the next steps would be to get the news involved or protest.

    Response from the owner

Hi Jess, we are disappointed to hear about your experience! We certainly expect our team to provide updates throughout the construction process and apologize that you felt you did not receive consistent communication. We are extremely surprised to her about your experience with the warranty process and appreciate your feedback. We have alerted local management of your situation and requested that someone follow up with you!

My family and I have almost lived here for one year and the experience has been very frustrating. This is our first house and we will never buy from this company again. From day one we missed many items from the initial walk through and more issues developed over time. Everything looked ok but the functionality was not. "Thankfully" the company offers a 1 year warranty on most items. This is great however the urgency to address this concerns is very low unless it is an emergency. I have had a few warranty claims that took months to be completed. Below are the issues with our house: Model Roosevelt 1.) We immediately had plumbing issues. The water pressure valve leaked and water accumulated in our crawl space. This issue was resolved immediately. 2.) Plumbing issues continued.... The drain pipe for out master bathroom was ran through a 2x4 and a nail plate. When we ran water upstairs, the pipe would make a loud ticking sound. This issue was resolved, however the drywall repair work took weeks to be acknowledged and completed. 3.) Still more plumbing issues... The drain for the master bathroom shower cracked and leaked water damaging the drywall below. The plumber came out and repaired this, however we are still waiting for the drywall repair to be done. The warranty request was submitted by the plumber and myself (8/31/21). Five phone calls and almost a month later this issue has still not been taken care of. We cannot use our shower until the drywall has been replaced. 4.) This is probably the more obnoxious one and truly shows how cheap LGI is. The Hvac system for the 2 story houses is absolutely a joke. There is only one thermostat and it is installed upstairs so there is nothing regulating the temperature down stairs. We spent the first winter with our down stairs never going above 60 degrees. I called many times to try to let them know there was something wrong with the heating/ cooling system. They kept pushing the issue to the side saying heat rises like I'm unaware about basic chemistry. I finally called the Hvac company. They installed the system per LGI. I asked them about installing an additional thermostat downstairs along with a dampener that would push more air downstairs. They advised me to call LGI one more time to try to find a solution so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket to fix LGI's design. Behold! More residents in the 2 story homes with the same issue called in complaining. They are going to do exactly what I proposed to the Hvac company. After months of waiting they eventually fixed out Hvac system. I really hoped they saved money and time with this design. A dampener costs about 200$ and thermostat costs about 100$. This issue was fixed. There were more tiny issues that were resolved that involved electrical work that were minor and dealt with immediately. The materials and workmanship is very poor. The walls are not straight. The floors are not level in some places. The drywall texture cracks. The windows are far from sound proof and let dirt in. The front door needs a lot of force to close it. I can go on about the issues and quality of these houses, but don't take my word. Go to the Evans place Facebook community page and see all the other residents complaints. This is our first house and it is new. We should not be having these issues with a new house. I understand perfection is impossible but LGI needs to be accountable and responsive to addressing warranty claims. I do like the house just not the issues and poor quality that came with it. I urge you to reconsider your housing purchase here.

    Response from the owner

Hi Levi, we understand your frustration and are concerned about the trouble you have had. This is not the quality we expect to provide nor the timeline we expect to resolve potential problems in. We are glad to hear that the urgent items were resolved in a timely manner. We do take pride in the quality of our homes and the materials we use and apologize that you did not get the best experience. We have contacted our local management team and requested that someone follow up with you on the drywall that is still pending completion.

My husband and I will be first time home buyers and this was our first stop in the process. Although we aren’t quite yet ready, Josh was one of the most personable and professional people I’ve ever got to work with, he answered any and all questions we had. He seemed to be very educated and invested in his work and gave us great information and help. I’d definitely recommend. .

    Response from the owner

    We appreciate your review, Katy!

Hugh is the best! My wife and I had been looking for a first home for awhile but couldn't find anything affordable. We then found LGI and first looked at the Bennett location where we met Hugh. Unfortunately that didn't pan out due to the pandemic but fortunately Hugh kept in touch and informed us of a new development that we were able to afford! Hugh has been very personable, happy and just one of those people you want to be around during the whole process. We appreciate Hugh and the whole LGI team for helping us make a dream come true and helping us start our life in a brand new home!

    Response from the owner

Hi Thomas, thank you for the review! We are glad we were able to help you find a home. Congratulations!
