KeyBank violated several banking laws when handling my account. My account number was listed as an alleged asset in a divorce case that I had nothing to do with. The petitioner of the case subpoena’d my bank account information, including statements for the last two years, and KeyBank immediately sent it to these people I do not know and certainly would never give confidential documents to, and without notifying me (not even to this day). These documents were then submitted to an unsealed court case for even more people to view. When I contacted my local branch (702 W Idaho St, Boise) about it, I was told they would help me figure out what happened. Once they spoke to legal, they told me to get an attorney for further communication with them. Which I have. After those involved in the case received my bank account information, I found a filed affidavit from the plaintiff (of the case I’m not involved in) under oath claiming that, “Based on my conversations with bank officials, I believe [respondent] maintains accounts at KeyBank which continue to hold substantial value.” This means that KeyBank officials shared information about the balance of KeyBank accounts with a person who has no right to view or even discuss them. Bottom line is, don’t bank with KeyBank if you want to feel secure with the banking laws established by the government to protect you. UPDATE: KeyBank has now cleared the money out of my account and claims I owe this person $891,000 now...in a court case that I am not a part of.

It is with heavy heart as a former employee that I have to post this complaint. I worked for Keybank for 11 months, 5 months in Idaho Falls and 6 months in Boise Idaho, I put time, dedication and love into what I did. as of June 1st I was no longer with the company due to a complication that came up a few months prior. Since I left the Keybank in Idaho falls and moved to the Boise location, I felt nothing but disrespect and belittle-ness from the people I worked with. And it wasn't just towards me, it was also towards our not so fortunate clients (as they would say) as well. Leaving the company was not a huge deal, I didn't leave on bad terms, and I still had love for people that I had previously worked with. I still expected to receive great customer service when calling or entering back into the bank. (Because that's how a business is supposed to work especially a bank where they handle all your money) Unfortunately, they work other ways. I had contacted the branch where I opened my account (Capitol center) and spoke with one of their representatives about an overdraft fee that I inquired after pulling out rent money from my account. When I stated that the overdraft fee should not be valid (because the teller should not have pulled money that was not available in my account) the teller was quick to tell me I should have caught that sooner and that in fact, the overdraft fee was my fault and that they would not refund the charge. As a previous a employee like I stated before, the teller should have been able to see my pending transactions on my profile and known what was available for me to pull out after all pending transactions so that I would not be put into a negative balance. After arguing with the branch manager about what I knew from working with the company, he still denied my request to refund the overdraft fee. So I left the bank. The next day I paid my negative balance to a zero balance and called to close my account (three times this morning after paying to zero balance) my call my ignored twice, picked up once, then hung up on the third try.(they do have called ID and are usually familiar with the numbers that call in) I am disappointed in the fact they company would act so poorly towards their clients (regardless if I was a previous employee or not) i have called back once since being hung up on and again, my phone call was not answered. I feel as though this is/should be in violation of their company's policy to always address customer needs. I kept my account with the bank because I figured their professionalism should have stayed in play after I left the company and also because I have two separate direct deposits that go into my account and also have bills that pull monthly from my account. This is not the first time I have seen a specific branch weed out (the dead beats) as they would call us. If we don't have millions or thousands of money going into our accounts, as a client, our issues that need to be addressed, are not their concern. It was never my intentions to post a complaint about the company. But I feel as though this needs to be addressed. This is just an example of how they do not treat their clients equally, fair or in any kind of way as something that should be important to them. I only hope and pray that my word gets out and that eventually, someone can step in and take the proper (professional) protocols to help their clients regardless of race, popularity, or anything else. Every client should be treated with respect, and though my business may not be a loss to them, I feel as though they should really evaluate who they hire and what they say to their clients. Thank you for the time in reading what I have to say, have a great day.

All branch staff is personable, courteous, professional and helpful. This is what banking used to be like at other institutions a long time ago.

I have worked with Key bank for over a year now. I have to say that the managment in Boise is top notch from Joel, to Jared to Shane. I have worked closely with Val Welch business banker and Mac Wrigley also. I would highly recommend using Key bank and their services.

Key Bank rewards program is a big joke, their rewards website does not work, I compare their website to the Obama Care website, the does not work either. They must have used the same company as Obama Care. My other complaint is the Key Bank charges to belong to the rewards program, some reward !!!!!!
