I've been with statefarm for a few years and the customer service is spectacular if the payments are flowing; however if there is a hardship that one is going through, it doesn't seem like there is any leeway. I had surgery for my neck within the last month and needed to postpone my automatic payment. My bill is due tomorrow however all i wanted was a two day extension to pay when i get paid, being that i just returned to work.. I was told that they couldn't give me an extension and that if payment wasn't received that my insurance would lapse.. i offered a post payment for the 19th and was told that nothing could be done. The advice i was given by the representative who will be unnamed was to borrow the money from a family member or friend. That is very degrading and demeaning. I've noticed that statefarm and its locations have been showing a lack of empathy in my experience. Its not just joy-Washington firm. Ive noticed increases in my premiums ever since gil walton agency closed. My files were sent to various places until i landed at joy-Washington. If you are reading this understand that if you have your buisness in order you have nothing to worry; however if your a hard working human being who sometimes may go through a hardship from time to time because tomorrow isnt promised tread carefully you may be treated like a loser not winning the race. But hey we all need insurance right?
