My husband and I decided to refinance our mortgage to get a better rate, yes I agree the mortgage place was able to get us a better rate, but we started the process in October and we were told we would be closed by December. Here it is almost January and we have yet to close. I would not recommend them to anyone. The process has been very long and drawn out and every time I ask about it, it’s one excuse after another. I’ve only dealt with Jeff a couple of times, the rest of the time it’s been other people who don’t really know what’s going on. Go else where if at all possible. Hopefully we be able to close one day, but who knows.

Our closing process was a nightmare. It was one thing after another. Sure they are nice people and when looking around they had good rates and we could get a higher loan amount with them, but it was a long process. They told us we were pre approved for an amount and everything was fine until 2 weeks before closing, apparently we weren't actually approved and needed a co-signer. Because of this and them not telling us sooner, we had to push closing back. We get our co-signer and continue on, then the week of closing. Supposed to sign on Thursday, nope. They didn't send us papers, that by law have to process for 3 days, until Tuesday, so that pushed closing till Friday. Nope, can't close Friday though because at this point the title place is booked, mind you we already had uhuals booked and had to swap once, so now we are having to swap those again. We show up Monday morning for closing, all of us leaving work for this, and they never send the documents that the title place needs. Closing appointment was at 9, and 9:45 rolls around and they finally send the documents but at this point the title place has their 10 appointment to get to. So once again our closing was pushed back to Friday and then they didn't even show up for it. So if you go with them, just be ready for anything and every everything to happen while you are trying to close, on top of hardly getting to speak to them during the process. They seem in no hurry to get back to any questions you have, and putting your realtor through hell as well.

Every loan situation is different and, as you are aware, there are multiple parties and a lot of factors involved in getting certain loans to the closing table. Unfortunately, some of the types of loan situations we take on don't go as smoothly as we’d like for a number of reasons, such as loan type, borrower-specific details, changed circumstances mid-transaction, appraisal problems, stringent third party underwriter requirements, and regulatory scrutiny, to name a few. Lender shifted loan formats after buyer had negotiated terms with seller. This rookie move was followed by lender's chosen appraiser noting stove needed repaired: Appraiser didn't bother plugging in appliance before testing it. This is the caliber of quality and professionalism The Mortgage Place offers. Avoid at all costs.
Our records indicate that you were not a customer of The Mortgage Place, but you were the seller. The real estate agent handling this transaction was told early in the pre-approval process that the later negotiated loan type would not be an option for our customer’s particular circumstances. It is unfortunate that that message did not reach you. It is also unfortunate that the appraiser mistakenly identified the stove as needing repair when it did not. However, we do not choose the appraiser, nor are we in control of the appraiser or the contents of the appraisal report. By law, the appraiser is drawn from a pool of approved appraisers managed by an outside appraisal management company. Unfortunately, this involves a couple of missteps by parties beyond our control as the mortgage originator for the buyer/borrower. Our customer remains a happy customer.

We refinanced our home and everything was quite easy. We live out of town so we were able to sign all of the closing paperwork at our kitchen table. Great experience with Jeff.

I agree with other post he just keeps asking for more and more documents. Either because he don't want the (client's) to know what all they will need at first and how complicated it's going to be or, OR he truly does not know what he doing and puts on a great show. What's the old rsaying buyer beware. Seems Mr. Nice guy while trying to get your business then when all done with you if you have additional questions Mr. Rude. Mr.Hussey please don't worry about sugar coating my review.
