Unfortunately INFirst seems to be following the pattern of FedStar. Recently I visited the Branch on East Main/Melrose and made a loan payment- wrote the account number on the memo line of the check and asked for the teller to apply it to my loan. A month or so later I notice the payment has not been made. After numerous phone calls to various places- I was finally able to get Jamie and she was able to apply the payment to the correct account. This one situation would be bad enough but- when INFirst “acquired” FedStar, they changed credit cards. At that time I was over the whole entity so I elected to pay off my card and not use the new card they sent me. I paid off the card and thought nothing of it until 4 months later I get a “30 day late” charge on an account I have never used. InFirst elected to move interest that was NOT on my card when I paid it off (I don't know how since I paid the balance and not just the amount on the last bill) to the new card that I have never used or.set up the account- charge late fees and put a 30 day late on my credit. To her credit Jamie did take care of the late fees and requested upper management to take-off the 30 day late which still has not been done. There is no way I would recommend this credit union to anyone. It stinks that they don't have their act together but they simply do not and I'm not sure upper management cares.

I love working with this bank. Helen is simply the best. She has helped me and my family so much. We wouldn’t know what to do without her. I won’t go to anyone else but her for any type of loans. She goes above and beyond to help any way she can. We are so grateful for her. Fedstar is a great credit union to bank with.

They are amazing! Everyone is so friendly, and we absolutely love Helen! She works so hard to help and is very honest and upfront about what needs to be done to help your credit, two of my grandchildren got their first loans with Fedstar and they were just starting their credit journey. I just can't say enough about how great they are.

Manager speaks to customers any kind of way. Members are not aware of changes that are going on.

They are GREEDY. They deducted funds owed from the stimulus package directly deposited in my account. Even the big banks have the courtesy not to do that during a pandemic. I have been with them for over 20 years and I am wondering why when I can be treated like a new customer. They make it necessary for the bill to be passed for banks not to be allowed to take money from the stimulus package when people are out here struggling.

FedStar is the best Credit Union in the Roanoke Valley and beyond! The employees are so friendly and go above and beyond to serve me and my needs! I compared rates all over town and their auto loan rates beat out everyone! Also, they don’t charge you out the waazoo in fees like other CUs and banks do. I highly recommend FedStar to anyone looking to bank where they know your name, and care about your future!

8/29/2018 0 COMMENTS If you want to become a slave and have a bunch of little kids running your life you need to deal with this bank. This bank has a bunch of little kids managing it that run around in flip flops and pajama pants, don’t know nothing about businesses or what real people go through in real life, VERY unprofessional . And I think that’s what Fedstar wants ( Fedstar want someone to do their DIRTY WORK FOR THEM). They treat you like they’re doing you a favor by giving you the loan. At one point I had almost $60,000 loan with Fedstar I have paid almost $35,000 out of that I WAS ON TIME EVERY MONTH. And things went bad with my life situations. I start dealing with crooks (Kealin Beckner - Kelly) It’s was hard for them to understand what i'm going through At that point All they wanted is to put their hand on my cars, coming to my business in front of my customers harassing me. And that’s when I stopped and told them you can’t do that you can’t just take everything away from me. And I showed them Proof of things I was going through but they didn’t care. And then we came to agreement, I needed to pay $5000 to catch with my loan and move on with my loan And start fresh, which i did. I paid the $5000 4 Day's later they came in and REPOed my car basically (They stole my car) Lucky for me I had their voices recorded And saved all our conversation on my email. After we went to court and Judge found out that’s what they did to me he was really upset. All I’m trying to Say here is to watch out and keep proof of everything. They try to come after anything You give them as collateral not until they get a lot of interest off you. And I will make sure I will fight them and let everybody know what I have gone through with this bank.

Jaime and Helen are the best in the business. They both are exceptional at taking take of the client and keeps their best interests in mind. Also, Fedstar by far has the best rates in the valley.

VERY IMMATURE UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT- The Manager of this credit union is hot tempered and extremely passive aggressive. Our family DID do business with them for a couple of years. On two occasions my sister and I were left standing and had to wait 10 mins because staff was in the middle of playing a board game. The staff were dressed in costumes and cackling like they were at a drunken party. When my sister asked if someone could take a game break and help us, she was met with a sarcastic attitude from the Manager, Kelly. We were made to feel like we did something wrong. Also, if you will notice there are no negative comments on their Facebook page. Why? Well, I had posted a "very fair and honest" review on there, not derogatory in any way, not hateful or mean. Guess what? My comment was immediately DELETED! My 2nd comments regarding the 1st was ALSO DELETED then I was BLOCKED. Not a fair way to serve prospective customers reviewing your business. A few days later I get a private message from a FAKE LAWYER representing them from out of State, I mean WOW! This was the most immature, unprofessional thing I ever had happen in my life. Any MATURE MANAGEMENT would have addressed my concerns right there and left the comment. I saw a review and response from the same Manager on the BBB website. This Manager uses "Narcisstic Gaslighting" techniques to respond to any complaints. It's a good thing I have the knowledge to know where to report credit unions above the local level for financial institutions. My family won't use this credit union anymore. Freedom First is much more professional.

Great bank, but they never answer the phones for any reason. If you run out of monthly transfers it’s pretty much over for you unless you go to the bank but not all of us have time for that. Please start answering the phones. Thanks.
