    Jason and his team got me in my house in no time! As a first time home buyer, getting my mortgage was a huge concern. But they made it as easy as possible. I'll also say that they are very responsive-I'd write an email (usually forwarding one from my broker or lawyer) and would have a response very quickly. This made for a great experience.     We were going with another lender who approved our loan but due to debt to income limits they let us know that we would have to buy discount points to get the payment at the right amount. This would have added 3300 to our closing cost which were 6000 to begin with for a total of 9500. We decided to check with another lender to see if they could help us lower the closing cost and homestead approved us without those points added. Their estimate was the same 6000 at preapproved but without the extra fees for points so we decided to go with them. We let them know we wanted to be sure before we spend money on inspection that everything was looked at and to be thorough. They gave us the go ahead and said they would let us know if their were any problems before the inspection so we could cancel it and not waste money. Then after they had us pay for inspection and appraisal they gave us a new estimate which had a 850 dollar fee for loan origination. This was about 650 higher than the first estimates origination charge. Since this was still a lot less than other lender we proceeded and put in our notice to move with landlord. 15 days before closing at 9:30 at night they send us a new closing estimate which has origination fees of over 3200. Turns out they also needed to use discount points but instead of being honest about it they wait until we are so far in we can’t back out to confront us with these extra fees. Now we have to come up with the extra money or loose the home and we would be out the 1000 in inspection / appraisal fees we paid. Also you cannot take the appraisal you paid for to another lender if you decide to ditch them. They sound great until they get the hooks in then they confront you with the extras they knew about all along.

    Wow. The "hooks in you" comment definitely shows us that you have the wrong perception of us. While there are many lenders out there that use tactics like these, I assure you we are NOT one of them. Had this information (your perception/experience/thoughts) been presented to us prior to this, perhaps we could have changed your perception and/or solved your problem. Not everything goes 100% smoothly like we want it, but we always make every effort to have happy clients in the end. And we do a pretty good job of that. The fact is that you bought your home during a very turbulent time in the mortgage markets and rates fluctuated much more rapidly than during most times. Therefore what we quoted you 2 months ago is different than what it was when you found a home. But this is the first I'm hearing of your discomfort and a phone call to discuss and find alternate solutions would have been a much more constructive way of getting toward your happiness. We are honest and give everything we have to clients and it hurts me/us to see you think of us this way. I'm sorry you had that experience as we wish that on no one especially you, our client. I'm going to see if anything can be done to help alleviate your pain at this point, but I just wish you would have reached out to the management sooner.
