BEWARE. I have banked with Guaranty (multiple accounts) for almost 10 years and never had any issues till I moved to Houston. They told me that I would be able to bank in Houston since they have a few locations. This was the first lie. I literally have to call to Mount Pleasant whenever I have an issue because it is the location I had my account set-up. If I have a fraudulent charge and they cancel my debit card, the manager here in Houston has to call up to Mount Pleasant. On top of that, the way they post to your account is never accurate. Last year from August to December, I paid almost $1500 in overdraft fees because they weren't posting my charges and deposits in the order they happened and some I was over charged for. Since I lost my job in January, they have been declining charges (which I don't mind cause I didn't have a job), but I had a charge that was initiated on February 25th that made my account negative on February 27th. No problem with that. The problem is that when I called yesterday to see if they could let my card go through (enable overdraft since it was already negative $13) because I was stuck in a car garage in the Texas Medical Center and couldn't get out, the lady looked at my mother's account (who I am an ONLY an authorized signer on, that's it) and told me that she would transfer money from my mother's account (without any verification) and they would cancel the charge today the 28th. That upset me because why was she looking on an account that does not belong to me? No authorization or anything. So, today comes and I see that instead of cancelling the charge, they posted it. When I called and asked them about it, the lady (Gloria) told me that my account was never negative and said that I made all the transactions today. These Transactions were from the Friday and into the weekend. She then said she could cancel the transaction, but it would $29. When I asked to speak my officer (since they spoke with him yesterday), he had her take my number. At this point I doubt I will get a call back and don't really care if I do. I will just bank here in Houston with another bank.

Nice people, nice bank. But, there is a serious issue with their ATM's. There's usually an ATM down. It's not uncommon for multiple ATM's to be down. It's not heard of for every ATM in town being down.

I'm very pleased here with Guaranty Bank! They are right on top of things if you have any problems with anything. Their service is great, & everyone is very kind & will help in any way. The online ne banking is great, it lets you know all your transactions & keeping up with your money & letting you know every transaction that's made thru your account.

It's always something with this bank. A problem with the app, systems were down when I deposited my stimulus, ATM didn't know the amount of cash I deposited. There's always an excuse for why my money isn't in my account or why my app isn't working. This place just isn't it for me. I gave two stars because customer service is friendly.
