    Each time I need to make a deposit, I dread going. The doors are locked, someone meets you at the door at which time they question you in reference to what you're doing there then ask details about your health and if you've traveled recently. As if we're all ignoramuses that don't know enough to not go out when were ill or have been exposed to Covid. Also annoying as well, there is no teller to serve you, it's a kiosk type situation. I despise the whole experience. Very impersonal.

    My father had great faith in this bank, but when he died in August, this institution closed my parents account in December even though my mother was a joint owner on the account. This bank never contacted anyone before doing this and ALL of their bills were being paid through these accounts at GTE. If that wasn't enough, they failed to post a transfer of monies from an annuity to pay off an auto loan which they also hold. This was done despite regulatory guidelines that dictate how long monies can be held before posting them. They have been ridiculously difficult to deal with and now they are dishonest as well! This is being reported to the Florida regulatory agencies. RUN from this bank!!

    I have been with GTE for about 14 years with two checking, 2 savings and 2 our of my five have both accounts with them and one just savings... after the poor customer service from the 800 number to their is no one that can help you all accounts will be closed. Oh and we have a auto loan with them as well. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone and highly suggest you bank else where.. once again I am an account holder for 13 plus years with my family.

    After 24 years of banking with GTE Financial (GTE Federal Credit Union) I've closed my account. Mainly because the customer service is horrendous to the point of provoking the customer. The branch manager at the Fruitville Rd location should not be interfacing with customers. At one point she argued with me that a check I wanted to deposit in my daughters name (who was a minor) couldn't be done without her being there. For $50! I had done this dozens of times before when my daughters get birthday checks. I give them the money and deposit the check (of course after they sign it). This after my years of loyalty and at times having over $500K in my account that isn't covered under FDIC insurance. Also they never have enough tellers to handle the business and apparently their drive thru has gone to an automated teller. I do business with 3 other banks and don't have any where near the problems I have with GTE. That's just the beginning I could write a novel on the interactions I've had with their customer service on the telephone but I'll save that for another time. SAVE YOURSELF AGGRAVATION AND FIND ANOTHER BANK/CREDIT UNION. I want to add that the branch tellers here were always great. Just in the slim chance that someone at GTE headquarters actually cares enough to read this post. Which I seriously doubt.

    Automated teller is terrible, always slow with long lines if not broken all together. There's always a bunch of employees walking around seemingly doing nothing but they can't help you you have to use the automated teller. Can't get coins from the branch at all- what kind of financial institution can't provide coins? Not only do they charge for accounts but they charge for extras like money orders and cashier's checks too. This is the worst Credit Union ever definitely try Achieva or Suncoast first.

    The star is because I have to give something in order to write. I've really tried - really! Even when they screwed up my HSA documents causing IRS problems , gave me the wrong information to fi it, once I figured that out and told them, it took months to rectify, long past when the IRS demanded payment - and the constant breakdown of the ever changing ATM machine - never seen anything like it. The debit card peels and then they charge you for the replacement which is criminal. My debit card was eaten by the latest machine, taken away and destroyed because I could not get there the next morning due to work. I asked to have the same card number so as not to mess up all the auto deducts, paypal, etc. and they somehow messed me up, sent me TWO cards, one with a new number and one with the old and one kept canceling out the other one. Went to pay a tab with guests and was told my card was denied right after activating it at the bank and knowing I had ample funds. My colleague had to pay. Humiliating! Endless phone calls and two bank visits until someone on the phone LISTENED and FIXED it. No weekend hours, moody staff, and without the tellers who were the most pleasant people there, it is just creepy. Time to move on.
