    Great credit union. I was having problems paying my bill at times with a new business start up. They refinanced me with a bit longer term and a affordable payment. My credit score was reflected down during that time, but now my credit has never been better. Thank you Golden One Credit

    My credit score is RUINED because of an error on behalf of Golden One. They advised me they would fix the reporting error within a week in addition to my bill . They were so sure my credit would be fixed they invited me to apply for a HELOC when the error was resolved . We they went back on their word. Golden one is absolutely unethical. I explained how errors like this adversely impact our communities and being denied the ability to dispute negative credit reporting by Golden one has impacted me tremendously.I’m knee deep in a refinance and disputing late payments on my credit has caused me tremendous stress . They’ve let my family down. I would absolutely not recommend GOLDEN ONE. I’d like to cancel my tickets to anything held at the Golden One center in addition to every account. I will refinance accordingly. I refuse to do business with Golden One

    I am a male aged 34, and have been a customer of Golden One Credit Union for the past few years. I have a great track record on my end of using my accounts consistently and appropriately, and while interactions are always brief and subpar, my relationship with your institute has been pleasant enough. That is until Monday 6/7/21.I feel that I have been discriminated against on the basis of my age, race, and gender. I was approved for an SBA loan and funds were deposited into my account on the morning of 6/7/21. This was after a rigorous application process which included me proving that I am a sole proprietor (qualified as an independent contractor) providing copious amounts of documentation and then being approved through this government funded program. The issue happened once I stepped into Branch #7 and encountered one of your employees (Casey) who immediately placed a hold on my account and then offered me very little information except stating it’s a “new policy” when it may be fraudulent funds. I’m a hard working American with multiple very real and very legitimate businesses, the amount was from a verified lender and is less than $10,000. I felt very much targeted and wondered if I hadn’t been a man of color in my early 30’s would this have been the treatment I received?Your employee then followed up his questioning, when I told him I’m trying to make a payment to my property taxes and this being an urgent and time sensitive matter. He asked me with a smirk and disbelieving attitude where I had been able to purchase land? I did not further engage in conversation as I was in shock, disbelief and under distress(specifically, Negligent infliction of emotional distress). We are in a worldwide pandemic. People are losing jobs, homes, their livelihood and most importantly their lives and to lock someone completely out of their accounts could be detrimental to that person. I am unable to access any funds and was stranded yesterday 6/8/21 after my 9 month pregnant fiancée tried to cash app me gas money and they immediately took and held those funds as well. So now not only are my funds being withheld, it would also seem as though I am accruing fees(I received an alert today that my account is now overdrawn) for any returned payments from items that were pending before the lock out.  I’m on the brink of losing my job after this as I can not utilize my car, I have no access to funds and have yet to hear back from them with further information. I am writing this letter to you as a last resort, as the previous complaints and inquiries registered with the BSA and customer service departments have fallen on deaf ears. My time at this institute has been a good one, but this discrimination has left a bad taste in my mouth. It is really frustrating when you are not appreciated by the company for whom you have been a loyal customer and entrust your hard earned money. Discrimination regarding sex ,age, and race is a serious offence. I hope this matter is solved soon, to the satisfaction of both parties. I have heard of your reputation of being unfair and discriminatory in the past, but I would like to have faith that  this blatant act of discrimination and emotional distress is an isolated incident that will be rectified and you will certainly help me.

    I had $1200 taken from my account on 6/21. A joint check was deposited about a day before. I called on 6/22, they explained and told me a copy check was issued and sent to me within 5 business days. Confirmed my shipping address. 5 business days pass by...nothing. called on 6/30, they told me there is a delay in the USPS mail and it could be 7-10 business days confirmed my address again. 10 business days pass by NOTHING. called again on 7/6, got the call escalated to Irene, I asked for the check to be sent to a branch near me. I expressed my frustration to Irene she did not care, finally gave me an extension, and told me to call on Thursday,7/8, so we can 3-way call the bank because it should be there on Friday 7/9. Called no answer, left VM, no callback. Called their CS line, the guy told me the notes said I need to wait until Monday 7/12 and that it should be there no later than that. Monday no call from the branch as I'm desperately waiting. Called today Tuesday 7/13, to find out the branch has the check since Saturday and called me that day?! no, they did not. Why would I not answer or call back as I'm waiting for this $1200 check?? The lady I spoke to did not care as she was "just the messenger". So extremely upset over this situation. This company could care less

    After 9 years as a member, these clowns let some scammers from Singapore steal $148 from me then denied my dispute. They are not trustworthy or capable enough to handle your money. Go anywhere else. UPDATE - Despite he nice message in the reply to this review, Golden 1 is continuing to do absolutely nothing to help me. They are doubling down on trusting scammers over their own members. They are terrible.

    PLEASE get Zelle!!!! It makes life so much easier!!!! This 2 stars is strictly for them not having zelle - I don’t live in Northern California and it makes paying my credit cards much more difficult since there isn’t zelle. I’d like to be able to pay my credit card payments same day not 3 days after the transfer completes!!

    Nobody can set up automatic payments in their branches. Was told at 2 separate branches that it was set up for me. Both times when I checked it wasn't. Eventually found out from a phone rep that payment form I filled out at both branches was only for payments from external accounts. And to pay from my golden 1 loan from a golden 1 checking account I had to set up online banking. Thankfully I only got a small personal loan here and haven't refinanced any of my properties with them yet.

    It's midway through 2018. However, despite how much technology has advanced in the past 10-20 years, I cannot setup autopay for my Golden 1 Visa. Also, the whole process to get the credit card took nearly a month. This credit union seriously needs an overhaul. I am cancelling my account with them.

    Home Refinance: Never apply for a home loan or refinance product from Golden1. I was paired with someone who presented himself in a very apathetic way. Thankfully they were able to get me to a new loan processor, but the entire experience of refinancing is nearing the 2 month mark and we're not even done (close, but not done....nearly a month AFTER the appraisal). To add to the length of time it is taking, communication is very poor. I wouldn't expect to hear from anyone every single day, but after a few days I would think it good customer service to give an update of some kind. Whenever I asked for details on specific items, the question was either not answered or answered with the main bullet points only. I can't speak for anyone else, but that's easily not a good sign (not trustworthy). Overall, prospective consumers might fair better with a different credit union if you're looking for a great experience - my experience can only be characterized as exhausting, deflating, irritating, disappointing, time consuming, emotionally draining, poor, all leading to a exponentially large deficit of trust. Can't and won't recommend these folks - not worth it.
