The staff at this branch is wonderful. Most locations the people are wonderful as well. ONLY reason for not having 5 starts is that their Dividend Rates. The high yield check is great! Their savings and money market accounts another story. They are way to low. I don’t like having bank accounts in multiple different credit unions and or banks, but how bad these dividends are I have no other choice.

I was trying to get an auto loan and spoke with employee she emailed I was pre approved and to go ahead and get car insurance. I did what was needed called the next day and she was not in just to be told I wasn't approved for the full amount. Why would someone tell me to get insurance on a car that I not fully approved for? Why aren't important steps disclosed or said before to do so. I will take my business else where, where I can get full communication because my credit is superb and I will go where my business is wanted.

Last year I bought a car and used Genisys as my lienholder. Honestly, I didn't have a great experience working with Connie. She had a negative and doubtful energy about if I'd be approved for the auto loan and that I may need a co-sign. Anyhow, I got approved and then afterwards she said I was "signing my life away." While, it may have been lighthearted, it was unnecessary to say. Additionally, she kept saying I'm overpaying for the car. People need to learn how to just do their jobs and keep comments to themselves or just retire. I paid the car off in full this month and now own it outright. So much for signing my life away.

I started a new job in Waterford 7 months ago so coming to this one has always been convenient. My pay day falls on Wednesday but I always get my check on mondays. For the past 7 months I’ve been coming to this Genisys to get my check deposited with no problem. Today I come in and get turned down because the check date is for Wednesday. She said “we can’t deposit it”. Clearly I’ve been getting my checks deposited for 7 months so it CAN be done, it was just laziness. She then tells the other employee to switch with her. Something unprofessional to say in front of a customer. The other lady then tells me it can’t be done either. I leave and go to the next closest Genisys. Very inconvenient after I worked all day and just want my money. I don’t even tell them the issue I had , I just say I want my money in my checking and they do it no problem. It can be done, I’ve never had this issue. Don’t work if you don’t want to work! It’s just pure laziness.

Have been doing my banking here for just under 6 months and I have loved every experience I have been their! Going from a bank that did not really care about it’s customers to a bank that greats you with a incredible smiling face, makes banking very easy and better for banking in general! If you have been looking for a new bank I would easily recommend going to this bank and talking to Connie or Garrin!

This is the best branch of all of them. I’ve been to many branches in the customer service here is always above and beyond. Megan, Alina, Garin, Melissa and Connie are always so amazing and will go above and beyond for anyone. I’ve sent many friends and employees to this branch for their financial and money needs.

A few months ago I signed up for a checking account with Genisys Credit union with the intention to refinance my car loan as well. After signing up for my account I waited 6 weeks for my debit card to come in the mail. When it hadn't arrived I reached out for an ETA and they said I should already have it. Due to this, they cancelled the card and said I could go into a local branch and get a new one. Of course the next day the card that was cancelled came in the mail. A little frustrating, but not a huge deal. I then go into a local branch to get a new card and of course "the machine was down". I really didn't want to drive out of my way to another branch as I was already running errands, so I ended up having another new one sent to me in the mail. Very frustrating, but I had my card eventually. The worst part is when I refinanced my car loan. I gave Genisys all of the documentation requested(and signed all paperwork), including the title to my car which had my old bank as the lien holder. Should really be no big deal as the refinance was paying them off, so Genisys should be able to get the lien released and a lien for Genisys put on.(or so I thought) I have refinanced loans with other banks/lenders, and at this point my part of the transaction is over and there is nothing more I should do. Not the case with Genisys though. I got a very threatening letter in the mail that Genisys still didn't have the title with them as a lien holder and that I needed to send them this. Only issue is that I had already given them my title. I had to reach out and they clarified that they just needed the release of lien from the existing lender on my car, and that they were still working on it, but if I could try and get it they could take that as well. I told them I would try to reach out, but with my work hours and prior obligations, I may not have the time to sit on the phone with customer service for a bank for hours to get documentation I should have had no business in getting. I was unable to find time to reach out, but figured Genisys would be able to get the documentation. Boy was I wrong. Today I received an email from Genisys stating they were still unable to get the release of lien, and that if I could not get it, my interest rate would be increased by over 4%. I was honestly dumbfounded that I received this email. I have never been treated this way with any other financial institution I have done business with, as most financial institutions tend to act in a professional way and not extort their clients to do work they should be doing. To directly quote the email "If we are unable to get that release of lien your interest rate will be raised to the personal loan rate. I want to apologize for the inconvenience. ". I understand that the bank that had my loan may be being difficult, but I personally do not believe that gives any lender/bank/credit unions the right to take it out on the customer. Credit unions are supposed to be all about the customer service and benefits over a standard bank, but I have not seen this at all. To really sum it up, I would suggest going elsewhere to refinance any loans as it appears Genisys doesn't have the abilities that other banks/lending institutions appear to have(I have never had as much of a headache dealing with any other type of loan in my life) The staff are very friendly, but that doesn't make up for the inability to get documentation that banks have been able to get no problem for me in the past.
