Friendly Check Cashing Broad St, Newark

I've been going to this place for a while to get money orders as a bartender who mostly gets paid in singles. I started coming to this place because they have a money counting machine so all they have to do is feed my bank faced and perfectly counted and organized singles through the machine. Usually the old man helps me and it takes him under 60 seconds to feed my money through the machine but I guess they've had enough of me and the 60 seconds of work I make them suffer through. Today I walked in and the 2 attendants looked at me like I was carrying a severed head. Clearly neither wanted to help me even though I was the only customer in the place. The woman took my ID and then asked if I had big bills today, I said no, and she told me to take my business elsewhere. It's too bad that I don't know whether the owner of this place has any other check cashing places in the area because I'd like to make sure that I follow his employees directions to never give them business again.

Don't be fooled by this one star because it's really a 0. So I walk in with pay stubs for weeks and my check. I give proper I'D and kindly greet the employee attending me. I sign my check and hand it in a kind manner. I'm sitting there and I notice they start to examine my check. I figured they would run it thru the system and it would clear so no biggie. 10 minutes go by and three of the employees aren't even looking at me. They passed my check around and ignored me asking if anything was wrong. Five long awkward minutes ( was on a time schedule had to pay mechanic) she walks up to the glass. " I'm sorry but your check was not validated please come back tomorrow . Now i restated this how it should have been said . I say this because she didn't even speak English etc. Mind you I'm in full uniform boots and all.

Never in my life have i been ask to give my ssn to cash a check, especially if i have a valid driver's license and the check is made out in my name... smh

Been going there fo mr years and Ive always been happy with the services provided.

This place is horrible dirty dark & they say they cash personal checks & don't they don't speak English & have horrible attitude I think they are running a scam ... FYI I also noticed cause I live right around the corner that if you are not Hispanic you won't get serviced as fast if at all
