I strongly caution anyone that may be thinking of using this company for your financing options. My company used them recently for a job and they approved the job. They called the customer and verified the income. We were given the go ahead to install this job and they called after the job was done and found out that the person was on a temporary Covid 19 lay off, so they decided not to pay us for the job. This was over a 20,000 loan that was previously approved and we paid our end of the installation and materials, but cannot be paid for our work because they decided afterwards to not pay the loan. They spoke to this customer twice on the phone before they told me it was okay to do the job, but apparently waited until the third call after job was done to ask if they were on a lay off? This will be our last loan through them. This is horrible business practice. If you can't guarantee that you can get paid for the work that was approved, it's a bad idea to use that company.

Dealer in San Antonio. They provide fair programs to us and our customers. They buy fairly deep and aren't try to rip off us or our customer at every chance (unlike some of their competitors) . When you call, you get a human that can answer any question quickly. Our rep is great as well.

    Response from the owner

Thanks for the great review, John! We look forward to helping your business continue to grow.

4 years ago I took out a loan for a new water softener through this place for 6,500. I'm always on time with my payment my payment amount is 90 dollors i pay a 100 dollors every month sometimes more. My loan is currently 3,800.! My bill in the mail says I owe 4.84 not due till December 2020. They are not putting any of the extra money towards the principal they are just pocketing money. I would give this place zero stars if I could stay away from this place. It's a huge scam and I wish I would have done a little more research before I went through this place

This seems to be a misunderstanding of how a simple interest contract works. The account was paid ahead (and now appears to be paid in full) and over $2,000 was saved vs. the stated truth-in-lending disclosures. FFC is happy to provide a statement of account for you to share with any trusted banker to confirm this information. Please contact our account servicing management team.

Foundation has been a great partner for the last 5 years. Top notch customer service with really good approvals compared to other lenders in the home improvement space.

    Response from the owner

I have been using Foundation Finance for about a year. Something happened about 4 months ago and they changed. We have had a success rate of 95% approval which is pretty good. However, do to an error on their side, they will not pay us the full agreed upon amount. They had sent us an approved and proceed letter. 4 days later after we completed the work, they decided the applicant needed a co-signer. This co-signer had bad credit which then effected the loan amount. Now instead of financing the 95% agreed upon amount, they will only pay us 85%. or nothing at all. (take it or leave it) Vendors watch out for these peoples bait and switch routin. Strongly recommend you using someone else. James B Owner

There more to this story than this gentleman is posting, but due to privacy restrictions, we are not able to fully respond. We received loan documents that were signed by someone other than the applicant and had someone representing themselves as the applicant who was not. The fact that FFC made an offer at all to still purchase the contract even though the company submitting it was not above board with us was an attempt to reach a compromise.

I had a loan through Foundation Finance on a water system that I purchased last year with a 0% promotional rate that ended in June. About a month prior to the end of the promotion I went online and scheduled a payment for my due date that would clear the balance. A few weeks later I noticed the company hadn't attempted to debit my bank and I went online and scheduled a second payment. A week after that I got a statement reflecting neither of the payoffs I had attempted and charging me retroactive interest on the balance for the last 12 months. I called to see what the problem was and spoke with a supervisor who was extremely rude on the phone, refused to acknowledge even the possibility that the online payment system had simply not worked when I attempted to make two payments that failed, I was told this was my fault and he hung up on me. It was extremely unprofessional and seems dodgy. ***Update: I put in a complaint through the Better Business Bureau after I was unable to work my way up to someone who could help at the company. They reviewed everything and did the right thing, forgiving the interest they had charged since my first payment attempt. Although it is still frustrating that their payment system is difficult to use and that their customer service representatives were rude, I really appreciate that they were able to resolve this in the end.

    Response from the owner

We apologize if this customer feels she received anything less than the best service. We have offered a resolution that we feel will resolve the situation and we thank her for her business.

We've been with FFC for only a couple months. Working with them has been eh. First payment I made over the phone because their website was way too confusing and has too many bugs. Second payment went to do the same (over the phone) because the site was down, suprise. I read a lot of comments that their site doesn't work. Found out they only take one payment via a debit card every single payment is to be made through a checking or savings account. No big deal but wish that would of been disclosed I would of waited to use it. Calling is pretty much the only way to make a guaranteed payment and I'm hard of hearing so it is not the easiest.

    Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any issues you have had with our site. We are rolling out a new, simpler payment site by the end of August which will allow for additional features such as recurring payment scheduling. We hope this will help resolve those bugs.

This company is Great to work with. They are on the consumers side. They verified that the work was done and the customer is happy with the goods that were sold before releasing the money to the contractor.

    Response from the owner

Thanks for the 5-star review. We take pride in our service to both our contractors and customers!

If I could give 0 stars I would. *CONTRACTORS BEWARE!!!! Foundation finance has informed us today that they will not be funding a project (we provided materials and labor for due to the fact that our customer was recently laid off due to covid-19. They performed 2 prior verification calls and had every opportunity to inform us of this issue, yet they sent us confirmation that we were safe to proceed with the project. THIS IS A $20,000 PROJECT!!!! This is the 2nd time they’ve tried to pull funding from us when we never would have ordered material or proceeded to install the roof, if they would have properly notified us that there were changes to the customers situation that was going to effect funding. You learn a lot about partnerships during times like these and we’ve unfortunately learned the hard way. This is absolutely crushing to our business, as the timing couldn’t have been worse (global pandemic). We will make it our mission to make sure every contractor understands how foundation finance company does business and the financial risk they are getting themselves into by working with them. There are other lenders that are far more ethical to work with than this company. BEWARE!!!
