I've had three mortgages with First Bank and Cody McNeil has been the consummate professional. Honest straightforward always giving personal attention. I feel appreciated as a customer and if I ever have to finance another mortgage or refinance I will go with First Bank.

    Response from the owner

Great bank, they have always been helpful, worked with me when I needed it, answered any questions, and do what they say. I have banked with several of the big names banks before, hands down the best I have experienced! They are a bank, they are in it to make money as we all are; but they do it the correct way in my experience. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them. I have bought a home through them as well. Hope this helps. I use the Ooltewah branch mostly, EVERYONE there is awesome!

I would give it 5 stars but if you have to change your phone # you can't use the mobile banking or the app unless you physically go to your branvh and change it. Not a big issue just inconvenient. Other than that I love it!

This bank is absolutely awful. I wouldn’t recommend anyone banking here. Enrolled for the app for mobile banking and after working “okay” for a couple of days, it totally kicked me out of the mobile app. It gave me a 1-800 number to call for troubleshooting, and the woman was nice, but she told me there was nothing she could do about it. SO WHY DID IT TELL ME TO CALL THE NUMBER THEN? Okay but I can look past that. I started using their site through mobile web browser, which was kind of a pain because it never would remember my device and would always ask me a security question every time I wanted to check my account, but whatever, I can look past that as well. But wait, THERE’S MORE.. Through that browser it would keep changing the current balance in my account, it would HARDLY EVER show the amount that was actually in it. I’m posting this out of irritation because it’s showing give or take around $400 less than what’s supposed to be in my account. & There’s no question/doubt about it. Even if you subtract what’s spent in the transaction history it’ll add up to the amount I know I’m supposed to have. MAYBE it’s an early morning glitch or whatever since I’m mostly always checking between the wee hours of the morning. But a couple of weeks ago, dealing with the same issue, I accidentally overdrafted my account due to setting back money for a trip I’m taking next month. I assumed that it was showing the right amount in my account, when it wasn’t (of course), so I took out more assuming I had the money to cover it. So anyway, the next morning had an overdraft fee. I called the bank to see if there was anything they could do about it, and after going through a series of explaining the situation, answering personal questions so the teller could be assured that I was indeed the owner of the account, she told me that she personally couldn’t even refund me if she wanted to, only a manager could do that. So I just spent 30 minutes explaining to her what’s up, when she could’ve just told me in the beginning that that was something she couldn’t even do. Thanks for wasting my time lol. SO ANYWAY, like I said, here I am again. Still no access to the app, browser still showing wrong amounts. Whenever you call the bank it takes forever to get them on the phone, probably because they mess up so many accounts, people have to call them and see what’s going on. Whenever I asked to speak to a manager there wasn’t one available (duh) so they took my name and number for one to “call me as soon as they get the chance.” Those dudes must be busy because that was over a week ago and I never did get my call! For real guys, trust me on this one. I’m not an angry poor banker haha, I’m angry because their system and customer service is a joke. Do yourself a favor and find another place to bank with. *in their defense they did just buy out my previous bank. I understand there is going to be bugs and kinks to work out in the beginning phases, but man. I never had ANY problems with my previous bank, and ever since the fabulous FirstBank bought them out, it’s been PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM. Thanks for reading, if you want happy banking, bank somewhere else. :)
