Mike Alea and his team are absolutely great! They are very professional and knowledgeable, they keep clients and their realtors informed about every step of the loan process and most importantly they care and they always get the job done in time. It is a pleasure working with them and I would refer them to all friends and family. I would give them 10 stars if that was possible.

While I haven't had any issues with this company as far as obtaining the loan and purchasing the home, I did not appreciate the way they handled the Hurricane Irma situation. Our house was damaged over 40,000 dollars and the only way they would work with us on our payments was to allow us to make late payments without hitting us with late fees or damaging our credit score. My husband is a veteran and its just an absolute shame that companies are not willing to work with our veterans during natural disasters such as Irma.

As a small business owner I take very seriously writing a negative review but this is one that I feel is deserved. The end of August 2016 we made contact with this company and applied for a $50,000 loan. I am not upset that we were notified 8 mos. later on April 21, 2016 that we did not get the loan. I am upset the it took them 8 mos. and $2,000 of our money to decided that we would not get the loan. We would not hear from them and when contacted they asked for more information. For 8 mos. we answered repeated questions and faxed documents. Some documents were faxed to them more than 4 times and many questions were answered repeatedly. Of course we would only hear that they did not receive them when we would contact them for an update. Then another month would pass and we would be asked to send updated statements again. When they took so long the appraisal had run out and they told us we would have pay another one. They later said they would take care of the appraisal. We spent over $2,000 for an appraisal and an engineer to evaluate the foundation. This 8 mos. process caused an incredible amount of stress and time. We spent hours providing detailed information to them right up to 5 days before we were rejected. Does it really take 8 mos. and $2,000 to find out that you do not qualify for a $50,000 loan?

My wife and I bought a house in Clermont one year ago. Because so many things happened during the time, we still rent a room in a friend's house now. Here, let me tell you what happened that a house CAN'T be closed in A YEAR. Our house was supposed to close on April 6th, which the COVID-19 already happened a while. We were laid off from our job in the restaurant, but not fired from the restaurant. Only a couple of days before the closing date, mortgage person STEVE told us that we couldn't close our house on April 6th which means we have nowhere to live. Imagine you have your spouse and kids under this situation. Cause we have talked to our landlord that we going to move to our new house at the beginning of April, so our landlord kicks us out of his house. It was a nightmare that my wife and I live in our car for a couple of days during the pandemic until I beg one of my friends to let us rent his house. The thing is that we have enough money to pay the closing cost and monthly mortgage for half a year. Besides that, we still running an online business and it is profitable and even the government send checks to everyone to go through this pandemic. There is nothing we did wrong in this case, but we still can't get our house. Also, we need to take responsibility to lose our first house. My wife and I have been working since we graduate from college and save money to get our own house. Even I ask my employer to give a mortgage person a guarantee letter that to prove we will go back to work full time once the restaurant reopens. That STEVE told me that we can't close your house only a couple of days before. Did everybody see how ridiculous this case is? A mortgage person told us that a few days before the house closed. WHAT KIND MORTGAGE COMPANY IS THIS? NOW, YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES HAVE NOWHERE TO LIVE IN PANDEMICS TIME. PEOPLE MAY THINK IT IS BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19, NOT A MORTGAGE COMPANY'S FAULT. HOWEVER, THIS GUY TOLD US THE NEWS RIGHT BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE. IF YOU CHOOSE FBC MORTGAGE, GOOD LUCK. ALSO, I DIDN'T MAKE THIS THING UP AND I CAN SHOW THE EMAIL AND PHONE CALLS.

Terrible, awful, and ridiculous. If you want to live in constant high stress than these are your people! Advised to use this company by our real estate agent. Our brokers either did not care or understand our everyday situation. Expect documents immediately. Would receive an email at 4pm saying we need this document TODAY. Repeatedly asked them to provide a master list of all documents that may be needed, but alas, any sense of order was dismissed. No vompassion that you might work fulltime/overtime and have other daily commitments. Never in my life will I work with them again! But on the bright side, they sent us a $5 Starbucks gift card, only now I can't drink coffee because of the new bleeding ulcer they gave me!

Do not do business with FBC. Loan officers to the customer service rep all have lousy communication, customer service skills, and respect for your time. Jennifer will reply to these messages when really she’s just checking a box. Save your time and shop elsewhere for a loan.

    Response from the owner

As stated in our conversations, I take the information from the consumer and relay it to the appropriate team players: loan originator, area manager and even our CEO, if necessary. It is up to them to talk amongst themselves and counsel on the situation. The loan originator was counseled and the initial complaint was placed in his personnel file. If our upper management made a decision as to your concerns and potential resolution, I was not made aware. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience we caused.

Very professional yet like a family, one stop and all my needs and questions were handled. I can not tell you how happy this experience and the two others I have had with the Core Group and PBC.

Worst company ever. They tell you what you want to hear in the beginning and then screw any way possible. They made my first time buying a home horrible. Will refinance thru another company as soon as possible. Do yourself a favor and don't use fbc. I would give them a 0 if possible.
