After 20 years in this bank, I’m calling it quits. The customer service, quality, customer attention in this bank has deteriorated enormously. 45 minute hold to get a customer rep on the phone. There is too much competition amongst banks, to be stuck with one that can’t even answer the phone. Anything and everything you need to do is a problem. Ever since new management came in, I have experienced problems. The new debit cards are so ugly. All fancy new colors, and poor customer service.

I had an uncomfortable experience with my property tax payment that thankfully got straightened out by the manager. I expressed the awkwardness of the new online site and he offered to have someone walk me through how to set it up. Thank you to Gary Albin for solving my issue.

Wish I did my mortgage refinance with Chase Manhattan bank. I had a first mortgage then did a refinance with them years ago and it was seamless and professional, and this was before submitting documents via the internet and signing via Docusign. SFECU holds my current 15 year mortgage. I would have thought since my mortgage payments have been paid on time (early) for the last three years and they have my information the process would be smoother. It's been almost two months since my initial refinance approval. I submitted every document IMMEDIATELY which was requested. I sit at a desk all day with access to all my financial records. I'm a CPA so I am very organized with my paperwork. As others have stated the phone service is terrible. You can't call in. I send emails which go unanswered by my loan representative. My loan rep calls me yesterday to tell me the rate is expiring! That's because THEY are taking so long (and she couldn't find a document emailed to her weeks ago). I also had to go through every single step as though this is a first time mortgage! What is the point of going through my current lender if not to make it easier? My loan to equity ratio is only 20% Slow, slow, slow, and lacking any customer service whatsoever. I don't believe I am getting a great deal on closing costs either. On a $121,000 refinance the closing costs are estimated to be $5,262. That is 4.35%. Not a good deal, but I thought it would be an easy process! Go elsewhere if you want good service.

I am very disappointed with the decline in customer service at the credit union over the last couple of years. I have been a member since 2006 and have always appreciated the benefits I got as an educator in Miami Dade County. Has there been a change in its board members or top ranking staff that has led to changes that trickle down to what it is today in the area of customer service? I cannot remember the last time in 2 years that a call was an easy experience. Since having workers at home most of the time the person has really poor reception. The call is hassle, the holds are extremely long. Had a difficult time with the mortgage department as well. Need to get the staff all back all hands on deck to be more effcient.

WORST BANK EVER!!!!! I have been a patron of this bank since my early 20's I am 33 now. A few months ago I deposited 1,200 dollars in the ATM at the 27th Ave branch, 1,100 dollars of the machine disappeared! I only had 100 dollars in my account. I called the branch they tell me my money is no where to be found, 1,100 dollars no where to be found. I spoke to everyone in the fraud department in a few different positions, my money just disappeared. They admitted to their ATM machines being older and glitchy, and everyone washed their hands of my money...DO NOT BANK here!!!!!! If I could give negative stars I would.

Update 2: I spoke to the 117th Ave bank manager Jamie on 4/22, literally cried on the phone from frustration and explained every single thing. He promised they would investigate the matter and interview everyone who touched my file and call me back because it was unacceptable how everything was handled. It's May 10th and nothing. I'm telling you, avoid this place. I'm going to BBB next. UPDATE: My car still has the seller's tag on it since December. We're in April now. Bank told me I should have the copy of title, even I know if you don't own the vehicle, the original does not come to you. I requested a copy to be sent to the branch closest to me and was told it would be there the next day (today). I called said branch 3 different times and was on hold for an hour trying to find out if the title was available, nobody answered. Guess who drove 45 minutes for no reason only to find out it would take another 2 days to arrive. These are the same people rushing me to get this done because "if something happens to the car I'll have to pay the bank". I'm so sick of this place and will be closing my accounts for sure. I don't know what's been going on with them lately. I applied for a private party car purchase and was explicit that this was my first time and didn't know how the process worked. I must've spoken to at least 4-5 different people during the process who of course all had something different to tell me every time. They took forever with processing documents with me having to call each time to get it moving, only for them to request docs I already submitted. No apologies for the miscommunication or for letting me know important things last minute, like how a trade-in wouldn't be accepted even though it requested a trade-in value on the application, or how I'd have to pay taxes on the vehicle upfront at the tag agency. Again I knew none of this until the end. The whole process was frustrating.

Their mortgage department may have knowledgeable ladies, but they sure don't have the patience for great customer service especially Annette and Olivia. Either hire more people to help the department, or get them some trainings in order to provide great customer service.

Whoever is currently working at the Kendall branch in the lending dept. at this time was extremely rude. She was very standoffish and didn’t want to answer any of my questions. Then hung up the phone when I asked her to verify her name. As a member of this bank for 10+ years, that was the worst service I’ve ever received. Very disappointed.

Pitiful institution with inconsistent policies! I’ve been banking here for over 30 years. I have had checks issued to my nickname by other institutions. I have deposited these and other times cashed them. Today I was not allowed to DEPOSIT a check because it had my nickname! It’s not as if I was cashing it! Rudy

    Response from the owner
