    My real estate agent recommended Jason Stichauf at CrossCountry Mortgage, and I can see why, he was awesome to work with! Jason was very quick to respond to communications, always had helpful answers, and explained things very well. He had patience with us (first time homebuyers) and walked us through the whole process, explaining along the way. I knew if any issues came up he'd be on it right away, and he has the knowledge and experience to know how to handle all kinds of situations. When the first place we wanted to buy fell through, he was helpful and reassuring, and then everything went smoothly with the second place (and we are so happy here).     My wife and I worked with Perl and Amir's team to purchase our first home. We initially contacted them months before buying just to educate ourselves and see what our financial situation would look like. We did this same thing with several lenders and found Perl to be far and away the best at education, transparency, and being personal. They really took the time to get to know us not just as clients, but as people which meant a lot to us. A few months later we decided to make an offer on a place after touring an open house. Multiple offers were put already so we had to act fast. Our original loan pre-approval amount was a bit below the place we wanted - so we contacted Perl and they adjusted the amount in one hour on a Sunday! Fortunately, our offer was accepted! Perl was incredible with their transparency throughout the whole financial background process. We had a few difficult finances to document in addition to international traveling - but they were always keeping us up to date and ready for the loan underwriting process every step of the way. So, here we are typing this review from our new place and hands down it couldn't have gone any better! Thank you Perl, Amir, Amanda, Brian and everyone else! We look forward to working together again.

    We worked with Christine Wallace a couple years ago based upon the recommendation of a realtor. The process was fine. Now, about 2.5 years later, we're interested in getting pre-approved to purchase another property. We reached out to her and she ran our credit reports, we sent her all of the information she needed, and talked via email and phone. After answering a couple further questions she had, we never heard from her again. It's been about two months now and we've emailed her about 3-4 times hoping to get a preapproval letter or at least a response. I even copied Pete Messina in an email thinking maybe Christine is no longer with the company. No answer. So now we have to go with another company and have our credit reports run again, which could negatively impact our scores. We don't have a ton of experience with this, so we went with a recommendation from a realtor, but I wish we had done more research. Due to the lack of response, I can't recommend this company.

    My wife and I can't say enough good things about the team at Perl Mortgage. Sharbel was great to work with in the beginning stages of the pre-approval process and was able to quickly and efficiently get us what we needed to make competitive offers. Then, came BOSS LADY CHERYL! I want to offer a special shout-out to Cheryl, who was simply the best mortgage processor I've ever worked with. Not only was she able to facilitate a 15 day close, but you can tell she takes personal ownership of each and every file she has under her care. Nights, weekends, or during the course of a normal business day, Cheryl is ROCKING it for Perl's clients. She was invaluable and made our experience remarkable for an otherwise mundane process.     I wouldn't send my worst enemy to CrossCounty Mortgage in Chicago! horrible rates and worse service. I was pushed to use them from a realtor and was questioning their high rate for my perfect 800 credit score 40% down purchase on the north side. When I received a quote from a local competitor the rate was 1% lower! the "branch manager" then tried match their rate! I asked why they wouldn't offer that rate to me in the first place and they told me the "branch has to make money". zero stars. shop anywhere else they clearly are used cars salesman

    If 0 or a negative were allowed I would leave that. Started out as promising as my mortgage inquiry was passed to Perl by another company. Reason being was I receive a weekly mileage reimbursement and the other mortgage company's underwriters wouldn't qualify it as income even though there is 7 years of accountable verifiable income. No biggie since Perl assured me that it would not be an issue. Guess this is where I realize that brokers are nothing but sellers for their products. After spending 3.5 months sending forms, verifying incomes, deposits, finances, etc and so on, Perl Mortgage waits until 0 hour of the closing date to state they can't accept said mileage checks, even though they asked for numerous copies of stubs and I also provided the yearly totals of what I received. They brushed me off like it was nothing. I emailed their compliance officer after seeing his replies to bad reviews left online. I gave him 5 days to reply before leaving this. No a word. All I received was the check for the appraisal fees. 3.5 months wasted and a home lost after believing their broker's assurances. And when I was set up with a broker I was passed off to her assistant. I also hear Perl commercials with their Vice President bragging and bashing other mortgage lenders and brokers. Guess I can share my experiences with Perl with them and they can return the favors. Oh btw, there will be more coming to the fine folks at Perl for damages and lost income. I lost out on taxes and fee for a 401k withdrawal not to mention numerous other losses. Good thing I never gave notice of moving to the storage unit rental or landlords. and I hope the State Licensing Board looks into this. No one should ever have to go through this again. Perl is just a gigantic waste of time.

    My husband and I used Perl Mortgage to buy our first condo and had a fantastic experience. I worked mostly with Mike Parilla Jr, but also interacted with Mike Parilla Sr. I appreciate the time Mike spent to explain each part of the process so that we always knew what was needed and the next step.
