I’ve been banking here for 23 years. For about 20-21 years it was great! I recommended you to everyone I knew and bragged about how awesome my credit union was. I took my mortgage business from Wells Fargo to you because I banked with you forever. The customer service was less than average and during our most recent experience was awful. The loan processor wasn’t informative and the person we signed documents with today didn’t really know what she was doing, but did it with confidence. We signed a document indicating if you missed anything we’d go back and sign within 30 days and of course due to the lack of training we had to go back. Then the condescending girl who called to tell us to go back and sign the document YOU told us not to sign even after I asked. You didn’t even apologize and said “well you signed a form saying you’d sign what we needed within 30 days!” We signed the form, but the lack of customer service and knowledge is astounding. The banker today was like a Child playing dress up that could not answer anything. You have become too corporate and this was such a great business. I’m so disappointed in you and one day we will take our business somewhere else, but since you do not care about customer experience it will not matter.

If you have to make an appointment just to get in the lobby, there's something fundamentally wrong. Why can't they keep/find help? It starts at the top, I would guess. Regardless, it's inconvenient and needs to be addressed

You basically have to make a 6 figure salary to get a loan. Or have an 800+ credit score... Then they tell you they approve on a case to case basis after you’ve been denied and after they marked your credit . Annoying. My husband will be cancelling the accounts and we’re going to a place that will treat us more than a number. They were wonderful when opened up our account. Very friendly and so forth, but the moment you need help it’s like, “no, sorry”. My advice if they read reviews is to reevaluate how loans are denied and accepted. Take into account the years of membership, how the account has been handled and so forth. We’ve got a car loan here and have never been late. Not sure why they’re so picky on personal loans. Meh. Oh well.

The bad reviews are good here. I mean that they telling the truth. Customer service sacks. I am upset not because I was not qualified for a loan, but because I know my credit history/score and a job history. I asked at the beginning of the process for the rules and I was told that cases are looked at individually. And latter I am told that my job history is not good. Like it was a secret at the beginning of the loan process. I noted about my job history specifically before we started and I was told it was OK. The customer service don’t care about the costumers I definitely will not recommend anyone to this credit union.

I have no clue where to begin with the countless problems I've had with Credit Union of Colorado. I've had an account here for years and it was my first banking account. This place was recommended because I was told that the big banks have fees and extra costs and such. Just after my first month here I was running into small problems using my card like it being declined at random whenever I would use it at a new place in Greeley, a car wash, a gas station, fast food. That would happen almost everwhere I would go for the first time which was very uncomfortable if you have ever been in line to check out at a store when your only way to pay gets declined. So that would happen very often for the first 6 or so months. After going everywhere and I guess breaking the ice using my card at places I would regularly go, it wouldnt be declined at every transaction. But if I were to forget to buy something at the store and use my card again within about 15 minutes, that second transaction no matter what it is was ALWAYS declined. Just to mind you if I didn't call in every time it was declined, I wouldn't be able to use my card for a few hours. Everytime I would call in and ask "hey my card was declined but I have the funds" they would say "we dont even see the transaction as declined, we dont see the transaction at all" this would happen for years and was never resolved still to this day. I've asked many times that I dont care if you think its fraud or not, i have no other way of paying for things and i need my card to work everytime no matter what. I was told 20-30 times that ok we can do that and 20-30 times that they dont do that. (I've called a few hundred times with related problems no one has the answer to) I've had my card changed about 3 or 4 times when they upgraded to the chip cards, thinking it was the cards problem, when my mother's maiden name would come up as my middle name on receipts I had to sign for. Which I was told only happened to a very few amount of people. Whenever I would go on a trip out of state or just to lower Colorado I'd call and tell them "hey I'm going out of town, please make sure you dont decline my card. I need it." Which would never work because it would be declined just like when I first got my account. Imagine being stuck at a gas station in the middle of Utah for a few hours waiting for your card to be good for use again because you cant call anyone on the weekends. So if you had any problems on the weekends you're just out of luck and had to wait till Monday to resolve the issue. The only way I found around this was to carry cash. I'd always think to myself "why do I have a card if I cant ever use it?" I only stayed at this bank because it was easy to transfer money to family who had accounts here. A few months ago I stopped using this place just because it was such a headache 95% of the time. I havent closed my account because family said it's not bad to just have it, so I kept it. I've put off making a review for this place because it seemed they would try to fix these problems which was a positive but I would still have the problems I still have today. So I was torn because I really wanted to like Credit Union of Colorado but the hundreds of problems I've had (yes Hundreds with an "S" at the end, not an exaggeration) would just make me feel worse and worse about this place. Many different problems I have had not listed because this is pretty long and I haven't gotten to there reason why I am making a review now. So like I said that a few months ago I stopped using CUofCO, I have a few other banks and cards to use so I didn't need it anymore but kept it because of family. So I have the app to check on that account but haven't. (Have to make the short, cant fit it all) account is overdrawn, shouldn't happen. Now can't call because it says go online. Cant use the app and cant call about the app. Dont have a computer and I'm stuck. Been here 4 or 5 years. Problems never changed or fixed. Worst experience with banking.

Excellent Customer Service. I have had multiple auto loans with Credit Union of Colorado. The rates they offer are incredible. It's a shame people are leaving bad reviews for not qualifying for a loan. Your membership does not entitle you to a loan if your financially irresponsible with your credit. Thank you Credit Union of Colorado!

    Response from the owner

Thank you for the excellent rating, Brian. We appreciate your membership and loyalty.

Waiting 45 minutes in the atm lane while someone is talking to the teller when there is one car in the other lanes or there is on one is really starting to get old. You let people do this and think it's ok to inconvenience other people cause you're to afraid to open the lobby. I work at a grocery store and im at more risk than the employees here. Just a complete joke!!!!! Don't bank here go somewhere else!!!!

    Response from the owner

Hi Tyler, we apologies for any inconvenience. Please don't hesitate to use one of our other options including Digital Banking, virtual appointment, telephone self-service or any of our ATM network locations. You can find more information here: https://www.cuofco.org/covid

The Greeley branch is not set up for efficient drive through banking, the three times I've been there in the last couple months was in excess of 45 minutes. On January 4th the line is out to the street, I didn't even bother. They need to open the lobby back up and stop with the corona bs..... use some common sense... On top of that feedback, I have to mention that the assistant manager at the Greeley branch needs to take some customer service classes and stop being so dismissive and rude to customers...

    Response from the owner

Hi David, the decision to close lobby access in our branches protects our staff and members during this high-risk period of the pandemic. Our drive-up access, Digital Banking, telephone self-service, virtual appointments and ATM network remain open.

I have been a member sense 1995. In that time this business have grown and have helped many of my friends grow with them and I have seen how this company truly cares about the people who do business with them become more than as business but are more as a family. The murder made everyone so much more the business and clients but friends and family because of the friendships there. A wonderful place to do business

I hate the Credit Union Of Colorado. I started with them four years ago, and until about six months ago, I had nothing but positive experiences. The quality of banking at the Credit Union Of Colorado has gone down to the point that I am looking for someone else to bank with. I have had nothing but issues with every aspect of this bank. Then when I try to call the bank and figure out the issues, they are unwilling to help.
