Credit Union 1 S Halsted St, Chicago

I have had two auto loans and one home loan with this branch. While it has sometimes been a bumpy road and things have not always gone perfectly, I have ALWAYS received responsive and pleasant customer service. If there are problems with my accounts, either Le-Sa Jones or Rosa Lopez can to the bottom of it. They actually call the Credit 1 departments first, before they contact me. By the time I am contacted, the problem has already resolved. I visit the branch regularly to review my accounts and I am always met with one of them willing and assist me. As a customer, I appreciate this approach and it does make me want to continue to have my loans processed through the branch.

I discovered that my account had been debited for an amount that I had not authorized. I went into the UIC East branch and spoke with Le-sa J regarding my issue and she immediately started working on my account. She called the accounting department and alerted the fraud department. She also gave me a copy of the altered check that was cleared. It took some time and investigation, but she got it done. It was a delight working with her. She answered all my questions, she was patient and she is definitely an asset to Credit Union 1. I'm truly thankful for Le-sa's help.

I walked in to inquire about money market and savings accounts and Alex G. greeted me and gave me a breakdown of the types of accounts they offer. As we discussed my financials and current situation, Alex went above and beyond and disclosed all other types of accounts and products they offer to best fit my situation. The best part is that it didn’t even seem like he was trying to sell me anything but rather just help me. He explained that mortgage rates were currently really low and that I could refinance my car for a lower monthly payment. He quickly ran some numbers to show me what I can save. We are keeping in touch as my financial status changes due to my career change and potentially moving all my accounts over to credit union.

After being denied service at the PNC Bank located 40 ft away across the hallway, sad, lacking laundry money, about to ask my mommy to fire up the good O'l family laundry washer Becky. Yes I named it, sue me. I dont care. Anyway, I stumbled into this finely well decorated establishment of business for which students desperately aquire last minute funds at questionably high interest rates and asked a simple question. May I exchange a $20 bill for some rolls of quarters? I dont have an account with them. They didnt ask. They just said yes! They even made some fun light hearted jokes and treated me like a human being that has feelings and is capable of remembing excellent customer service. Made my day 1000 times better and Becky doesnt have to deal with my over worn socks and smelly gym shirts for AT LEAST a week or two. Depends how lazy I am. Come on. You do it too. I'm not the weird one. Who even reads these reviews? Anyway, yeah if I need a loan or need to open up a bank account, line of credit, I'm coming here first! Edit: This happened about a month ago

I’ve been a member of this credit union for over 28 years . It use to the Caballero de San Juan. I receive my credit union statements and I saw that they were taking out $25 a month for an non-activity fee+5 dollars more a month so every month they were taking $30 in fees. I have never received an interest of $25 in the last 28 years yet they have the nerve to take my money . I live on a fixed income I cannot afford to lose my money like this . I went to the bank and close my account the site I go to is on Fullerton. They should be thanking me because of people like me they are what they are today we were the first ones to open accounts here when they came from Puerto Rico. Where is the loyalty to the customers?
