Do NOT bank with Cove. If you value your money, do not bank at Cove. I had been a customer for many years and dealt with the inconvenience of them only having one branch because changing banks is a pain. However, the straw that broke the camels back was fraudulent activity on my account that occurred recently. Their fraud protection is a joke. Over $600 dollars was taken from my account and unless I wanted to cough up close to $1500 in fees with no guarantee that my money would be returned to me I finally left. It takes about 14 business days to get a new card. You can choose to pay a fee to have a new card overnighted but even this takes 3-5 days??!! Save yourself the nightmare and bank anywhere else.

Cove used to be amazing when they were SEMC. But ever since they became Cove their customer care has gone way down hill... in fact it has plummeted into a ravine. We make a lot of deposits since I run a small business and it always takes me forever to be greeted and then for them to complete my transaction. I always note about 3 people standing outside in the back of the building smoking. Not only is their response time for making a deposit horrendous but so is their loan department. We went through them for a loan on a truck and they lost us the first truck we wanted because they literally took so long to process—and we have excellent credit and a long track record with them. We literally had to keep calling and calling to get our loan completed. The final straw with us has been a recent incident of fraud in our account. We had multiple transactions using my debit card come through at various chipotle locations in a different state. We caught it immediately on our end and had them shut my card down. There was close to $100 debited from our account. They told us it could be up to 45 days before it is credited back and that they can’t grant me a new debit card until the dispute is further in the process which could take 2-3 weeks!! So meanwhile I am hugely inconvenienced without a debit card. My husband is going out of town and I’ll be stuck without access to our account and forced to have to carry around enough cash to sustain my household over the weekend since they only have one location and horrible hours. We tried calling back again today and someone took a message and we still haven’t gotten a call back hours later. I would caution anyone on this bank. They don’t care about the customer which is why most people want to go to a credit union. Also, I can’t imagine what would be happening to my family right now if the thieves who got my debit card info had made a purchase of $1,000 or even $500!! Having to wait 45 days for a refund is asinine especially when you can see clearly the charges were happening in a different state on the same day transactions going and coming from our account were here in Kentucky. And then to make your customer wait almost a month for a new debit card?? Why are we being punished for this? Most banks will credit your account and so long as their dispute confirms fraud that is that—if it doesn’t then they debit the amount out again. But not Cove—everything must be difficult with them. I am very disappointed and frustrated. As soon as our money is reimbursed we are switching banks immediately and will never do business with them again.

Let's start this off with a quote from the CEO of COVE........ I love the idea of “People Helping People” and feel blessed to work at Cove where we help our members every day............ Couldn't be more further from the truth or what this credit union stands for. Their willingness to work with their members is nonexsisting. I've been a member for 3 years now and recently applied for a personal loan to consolidate my credit card debt and was denied based on the balances of my credit cards. Not that my credit was bad, my payment history wasn't good, but because the debt I was trying to consolidate. If COVE was really about "People Helping People" they would have helped me. What was interesting about the whole process was how I was approved for a car loan, but couldn't get the personal loan. I wouldn't recommend this credit union to anyone. As another individual wrote...... trying to get them to call you back is like pulling teeth.

HORRIBLE customer service!! Moving accounts ASAP. Will charge you numerous overdraft fees, from charges that post on your account ledger for the next day, but post on your account the day before!! How can a charge be posted to your account, the day before, but processed on the following day??? Not to mention I deposited well over enough to cover the overdraft charges ON THE SAME DAY it hit my account!! Went to talk to them, and even though I had the money deposited in my account EARLY the same day they would NOT do ANYTHING to help!! Manager was a disrespectful jerk that wanted to argue about how charges were processed instead of trying to figure out a solution!! EVEN THOUGH I HAD MONEY IN ACCOUNT!! As much as I hate 5/3rd I haven ever had a problem like this there....at least 5/3rd is a national thieving agency, whereas Cove is more local, so the small base they have you would think they would be a little kinder to their customers!! Looks like I'm not the only one that feels this way reading ALL of the similar reviews!! What a shame!!

I started out as a SEMC member and I liked it then. Now there is only 1 location and the hours suck, only open the hours as most working people M-F. I have had multiple personal loans and ALL of them are paid off and always paid on time since it came out of my direct deposit from my paycheck. I also have a auto loan paid on time and never been late. I asked for a small $500 personal loan and was denied, I was trying to get a flight for a funeral. But the financial guy wanted to meet later that week to help me build my credit, and a hour prior to the meeting I called him and he forgot he scheduled a meeting with me but had a meeting at the bank. I have also had a paycheck hit the morning of and they processed a check just prior to charge me a fee. I'm pretty sure deposits are supposed to get posted before debits do. Cove has definitely changed since it was SEMC, and they are not there for the members.

Very poor customer service, excessive fees and no communication. My savings avaccou had positive balance and linked to an insurance account. Charged me an overdraft fee on the insurance side even though the same account. Manager would not reduce or refund fee. No communication by bank regarding issue. Was banking here for years but won't recommend or bank with them or any of their "partner banks" again.

As a recent college graduate with my first big-time job, it was tough getting any bank to take me seriously when it came to my first car. Cove put a ton of trust in me as a young adult with a degree, and it has paid off for both of us. Cove gave me a great rate on my Dream first car, and gave me the tools to build my credit for bigger loans down the road. I can’t speak any higher of Cove FCU. Changed the way I think about banking. It feels good to be trusted and treated like family. Thank you Cove!

I just opened a savings account there on the teller line? I wanted to sit down to talk about some services offered..I almost had to beg for a rate sheet and direct deposit letter?!? She wasn't helpful at all and I basically felt pretty rushed to be done..she stated she didn't know how to open a checking account so she would get with her manager later and call me?? I said no thanks,I'm ALREADY sorry I drove out here and opened a savings account..and I walked out!! Smh😲

The bank has been there for me and my mother during quite a few trials and tribulations, as well as giving us a sizable Overdraft Protection, which has helped keep the lights on at times, and given us breathing room. I don't know about these other people's experiences with the bank, but I take it we get off better due to our tenure there as members, way back to when my Dad opened his account back when it was SEMC a long time ago. Even with this tenure, I believe Cove should keep true with it's People Helping People stance, regardless of a member's tenure.

This bank has went down hill really fast after cove bought them out we had are car loans and personal loss at this bank for well over 7 years if u think for one sec this bank values you as a customer you are wrong. I was being payed by workmens comp due to an accident at work the check they sent me had bounced but instead of cove putting a stop payment on it the first time it didn't clear they kept the check almost 2 months cove tried 3 times to send it through before I was ever notified by them that it was a bad check. So I woke up with my bank account totally wiped out due to them being lazy not doing their job right the first time and keeping the check almost 2 month before I was notified on top of that they came a took my car as collateral because I could no longer pay on the account as much as they wanted me to due to some financial issues at the time so I had to fork out well over 1100$ for me to get my car back that had nothing to do with the negative balance on my account was never behind on my car nor have we ever been since we were with cove no warning that they were going to take it for collateral just woke up one morning to go to work and it was gone all over a negative balance of 234$!!! Any bank or credit union that is gonna do that to their own customer that they say they value so much must be going down hill if they need the 234$ that bad. We have since moved to pnc and are in the process of moving are car loans their as well these clowns that work here in upper management never seem to amaze us whith their poor work ethic and laziness of not putting their customers first cove is in the business of taking your money plain and simple . TAKE MY ADVICE AND STAY AWAY YOU WILL BE ALOT BETTER OFF
