    This is the absolute worst bank I have ever dealt with. There is no way to contact any departments. I have thought about refinancing my car just to get away from Connex credit union. I would never recommend them to anyone. You also cannot pay more than what you owe monthly on a loan through their online sites. If you call you can pay any amount but they will charge you a fee of $20 all the way up to 3%. I’ve never heard of a bank doing this. The reason behind that was “I guess it hasn’t been updated”. It’s basically theft. I wish I refinanced through another bank when I could.

    Wish I could give zero stars! We will be closing all of our accounts with this bank. After 10 years of our loyalty, we struggle every time we want to make a purchase (greater than $1500). We just purchased a new home and are frequently spending money on furnishings and home improvements, and without fail, we exceed the $1500 daily limit and are embarrassed when we try to use our card for groceries, meals out etc and the card declines. There is no one to speak to off hours, so forget about buying a sofa on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up using a credit card for these large purchases and then hit another snag when trying to use bill pay to pay it off. Yet another daily limit! Deposited a large check and regardless of how much we already had in our account, the check was held for 10 days before it would clear. Now that we have established ourselves at a new bank and moved our direct deposits over, we will be closing both our accounts and we are ready for them to give us a hard time about asking for a cash payout. Later Connex!

Although members have the $1500 daily limit, when knowing ahead of time and calling us during business hours, our member service can place an exception on the account to allow a higher limit. Please know that all these procedures, which may sometimes be inconvenient, are done for security reasons.     I have been with this credit union for 10+ years and never had a bad experience with them. I have also recommended them to several friends and family. Do not trust these reviews. I'd recommend checking it out, speaking to a representative, making your own evaluation, and assessment.

    I moved my accounts to Connect over ten years ago. I have a disability that makes it hard for me to remember details and understand my balance at times. I have called customer service and someone will go over the details with me, one transaction at a time, until my balance, holds or automatic bill payment is clear to me. Not the kind of experience with two banks in town! I have had to change my pin number and get a new debit card number several times in the past year, during the COVID crisis. They called me at home and they explained the situation calmly. I went in to the branch in North Haven, my favorite, and picked up my new debit card immediately, no fuss. They call themselves "The Unbank" and that is a compliment they have earned every day.

    I went to the Connex Credit Union North Haven Branch ATM at 4:05pm on 3/31/2021. There was an employee standing close by the ATM machine and their was a sign on the machine that said that it wasn’t dispensing any cash. When I saw the sign I walked away and the employee from Connex North Haven Branch 412 Washington Avenue, North Haven Ct, came out and told me that the ATM was working okay and that I could withdraw money out. I tried to withdraw money out and I didn’t receive any money, a receipt came out that said my transaction was not completed. When I turned around two Connex employees were standing there they said nothing to me. I got in my car and checked my Bank Account and I had a pending transaction for 188.00 dollars. I went back in and told two of the employees that I didn’t receive any money and my account has a pending debit. One of the employees was on a speaker phone call with someone else, I could hear the person on the phone telling the employee that the transaction would be reversed. Another male employee said to me I don’t know why you didn’t receive any money I just tried it and it was working for me. Well for me obviously it didn’t work and this same person that made this comment saw that I didn’t receive any money from the ATM. They kept saying oh you have to call your bank then. Why do I have to call my bank when this is Connex Credit Union ATM machine that didn’t work correctly. Needless to say I am following up with my bank, people please beware this place has shady business practices. They are not very helpful and the employee that took the sign off the machine and said it is working should be retrained on telling the truth to customers. They have cameras so I’m sure they should be able to see who I’m talking about. Checked my account again early this morning 4/1/21 and now the ATM withdrawal amount has been posted and wasn’t reversed like I was told it would be.

    I have a loan with connex paying off my car. Called them in November 2020 to order a coupon book. Payed for that. Was told it’s 4-6 week wait to get it. Called them back Jan 2021 to check the status Bc still haven’t received it. I was told they never put it through. Figured okay maybe they just messed up whatever. Waited and forgot about it since it’s months later and still haven’t received it. Called them today- here we are end of March and the lady goes “oh I don’t see that you’ve ordered one but it does say that money was taken out. I’ll put it through now and order it for you but it’s going to be another 4-6 weeks.” Well gee thanks by the time I get it my car will probably be payed off smh.

    Financed a car through Wallingford auto park two years ago and Connex credit union is who they use. Paid the car off a few months ago, and didn't realized I now had an account with Connex. Recently received a statement from them showing 3 inactive account fees and a paper statement fee. Called the bank to close my account before I incurred more charges and was told I had to do this at the bank. Drove to the banks drive through where the woman at the window was actually very helpful and told me to come in and talk to Ambar. That if I had a few minutes to sit down they'd remove the charges and close out my account. Met with Ambar then explained why I was charged and expressed that dealerships need to explain these things but often leave it out. Didn't refund the fees and closed my account. Wasted my time going in.

    The worst loan company I’ve ever dealt with. They lost my car title when I refinanced with a different company. They proceeded to dodge my calls for nine months. Every time I’d call they’d say that they’d contact the loan department and get back to me ASAP. It’s a little joke of a bank. I highly doubt it’s that hard to get a hold of the loan department.

    I have been unable to access my account online for WEEKS now.My payment is behind and now I have to pay an extra $20 to pay over the phone which I was trying to avoid. EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, VERY FEW BRANCHES AND NO ONE GOES OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP YOU OR TRY TO GIVE ANY TYPE OF SOLUTION BEYOND THE TEXTBOOK. Once my loan is done with them I will never look back and I do not recommend them to anyone at all.

    I recently put in a dispute claim at the Hamden branch on 2/4/2021. Today on 2/8/2021, I received a call from Shante in the Risk and Mitigation Department because she couldn’t read or understand my handwriting on my dispute form due to scanning issues. She needed clarification, but during our 4-minute conversation, Shante became to become very rude and unprofessional. I was being talked over and not listened to with the details and explanation of my dispute claim. After a while, her tone of voice became aggressive. As a customer service representative, it was improper for her to tell me what she didn't want to hear when she asked for clarification on my claim. On top of her tone and attitude, she repeatedly called me honey. At that point, I felt like it was inappropriate to me as honey. She does not know me and should have referred to me by my name, Artavia. If my penmanship wasn't clear and the conversation was not going her desirable way. An alternative measure could've been taken.
