My first home buying experience was through CHFA, and even a year after moving from state and selling my home they continue to be more than helpful. Spoke with Claudia today in the Service Center and she was a delight to talk to, helped me very quickly and efficiently and my problem was resolved in under 15 minutes. Thank you again for caring for your customers!!

Chfa will disguise its self to say they want to help you when you cant get a home and give you a down payment assistance as a 2nd mortgage 15k. They jack up the interest rate to 4.75 percent making someone who couldn't buy a house pay almost 3k a month without able to refinance so they trap you so they can try and get rich off of unfortunate people. People should be able to refinance to a much lower rate if they want to. Update review: I called the number and talked to the director and all that was done was he just confirmed my worst nightmares so please dont get chfa!! Lol money hungry predatory loans

I should have written this review 8 years ago. Best experience buying a home ever. First of all they paid $7000 for me for my down payment - thank you Colorado and also it was the best mortgage company I have ever worked with - they really care about Colorado Home Owners - because they are Colorado. What an awesome experience. I have since refinanced 2x because the interest rates went way down and our home value increased almost double since we bought our home. We could not have been happier with our decision to attend the free class and it got us back into a home at a time when my husband was in school full time. Thank YOU CHFA highly recommend.

By far the worst experience 💔 this company should be under investigation for fraud, providing false information, and tax and insurance scams. They refuse your payments, hang up on you when you have questions, and fail to communicate effectively with their clients. In addition, their representatives are rude, condensending, and lack knowledge.

    Response from the owner

Thank you for making us aware of your experience with CHFA. We do apologize for your frustration. We have shared your feedback with CHFA’s servicing team, so they may follow up with you. Worst company ever. I have called, emailed, and faxed them over and over again for the past two months because my taxes and appraisal were incorrect and I was paying the commercial tax rate of 29%. They refuse to return your calls, and the tax department simply won't even take a call. Each time the county appraiser and I provided them with the necessary information to make the adjustments to the residential tax rate: they would come up with something else that was needed. The people who answer the phones are uneducated about anything having to do with mortgages, they just try to transfer you around and make up some bullshit lie just to make you think that they are working on your changes. They don't care about timeliness and they don't even know what the term customer service means. I am fed up. Don't ever use this company!!! They will never return a phone call either and somehow they manage to lose the documents that you provide to them.

It sure seems like the people that are complaining are the ones that took the down payment assistance and then even after going through the classes explaining all the costs involved in home ownership, did not comprehend that the house was not free. You must make your payments in a timely fashion. As for missing paperwork, there is such thing as certified letters. This is your proof of delivery. Or walk it into the office and hand it to the individual it is meant for. These are such minor things compared to all the good work they do and the money they put up for you to get a home. How about you keep your end of the bargain and then there wouldn't be any issues. And if there are issues use your head to solve them and don't act a fool and you won't be treated like one. Sorry, just saying. And no I don't work for them , I can just tell by what you are complaining about that it's self inflicted drama that is made worse by unreasonable demands.

They don’t stop incessant robo calls even when Ive already set up payment on their site and are within my grace period. They don’t stop calling even after sending them messages in writing to stop calling.

For me the process was so simple and easy. I was able to obtain down payment assistance as well as a portion of the closing costs. I cannot thank them enough for helping me obtain my first home. Thank you for everything you did to help me and working with my lender. You kept in constant contact with me and them. Great customer service.

    Response from the owner

Thanks, Tyler! Glad to hear that the process worked well. Congratulations on your home purchase and we appreciate you taking the time to write about your experience.

Terrible customer service. Incompetent agents. I submitted everything they required for a loan modification and they didn't review any of it. Just sat on it and waited. They never responded to inquiries regarding progress, instead, sold the property, forcing me to find temporary housing for my family including my special needs daughter. Avoid a loan from this scam agency at all cost. Not worth the trouble.
