    Coasthills is the only bank I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve had an account since I was a child. My family uses coasthills, and it was always talked about positively in my household. However, I’ve come across several issues. Sometimes when I call the 24/7 call center and request a call back, I never get one. Don’t even try using the “contact us” option in the app; you will NEVR hear back. Recently my card was blocked, so I had to call the fraud center to verify some purchases. During that call, I was told my card was back on and available for use. That was a lie. A couple of days later, I call the bank and they tell me they “forgot” to turn it back on. What kind of excuse is that? I’m getting frustrated with Coasthills and honestly, it won’t take much more for me to just take my personal banking somewhere else.

    I had gotten an auto loan with Coast Hills. I had been making on time payments for 15 months straight until the initial pandemic shut downs. I voiced that I was unable to make my payments on time (but still make them) and that I was going to be selling the car. They were not understanding at all and marked my payments as delinquent which severely impacted my credit that I’ve been working so hard to build. These months were April through June 2020 the absolute worst times for our country. I ended up selling the car in June. Would have hoped they could have helped out and showed compassion in those desperate times of need but I was wrong.

    DO NOT BANK HERE. They essentially push everything to be online, and when you need to talk to someone on the phone it takes way too long - usually up to 45 minutes or an hour. Their website does not give full information, nor would it let me set up automatic payments - and when I called to attempt to figure it out, I wasn’t able to wait for over 30 minutes for a representative. Now I am getting my car refinanced so I won’t have to bank with them, even that was complicated - would not list the correct mailing address anywhere, had to go in person to get any information. Never again.

Just schedule a transfer from your CoastHills checking or savings to your loan and make it recurring every month. If you do not have a checking account with CoastHills, you may still use our mobile app to make check deposits to your savings account with us and transfer your auto payment from there.     The Worse ! Credit unions serve wonderful service in car loans etc. This one just really bad , online account access is deplorable , I use three banks this worse impossible pay credit card bills ,check balances ,as other reviews state if you than call for assistance you go through maze bad service ,credit cards managed by third party company that horrible . It’s not my job frequent answer ? Only saving grace Local branch managers onsite staff great .Unfortunately they let down by senior management and lack organizations . I have credit card with high limit and used for my business and created a lot points 200 k ,they are useless ,Coast uses very limited poorly run system makes it impossible to redeem for travel and merchandise dollar store quality . I’ve withdrawn my six figure account ,kept credit card but nightmare to pay bill so only use it last resort. Too bad credit unions great , this one isn’t , much better go to local bank.any bank.

    I don't like Coast Hills any longer. They ruined a good thing, acting more like a bank than a credit union. I am now paying a monthly checking fee..seriously!?!...I left Wells Fargo back in '88 because of the fees. Now you look at their list of services and there is a fee for everything! If I want free checking (which I had since 1988) I have to hold a huge balance in my checking account. Who has the money for that? The service used to be great. It is horrible now. If I use the inside teller, they are usually not friendly and make me feel like I am an inconvenience. The other inside teller service that uses the vacuum tube always takes a few minutes before coming onto the screen. The last two times they asked me to wait, which I did, for quite awhile (on my lunch time, no less), then I had to wait about three minutes more for my receipt and ATM ID card. There has been a huge turnover of staff due to the charter changes. Now, no one looks at you, no one talks to you. I used to make it a point to know the people at my credit union (I do this with any business I frequent). These people have no desire to get to know you. They used to be a great credit union. Ever since the BOD voted to change their charter to allow them to expand, they have gone downhill. I can't wait to pay off my house loan so I can go to SESLOC. I hear they still act like a credit union, where the customer is who they serve.

    They're great! The branch manager was super helpful. She went out of her way to help me with the app! That's obviously way below her pay-grade and she still took the time to work with me on something as littles as that and followed up with me! That's customer service right there! super friendly, very happy!

    Rude employees, horrible services. I went in there the other day and the lady at the front desk was awful to me. I prefer doing my business in person and not over a screen with a phone hundreds of people use on my face. She was so mad that I wanted to talk to someone just to cash a check. If you need a functional credit union please do not use this mess. Everything takes FOREVER to process and they charge random fees on your accounts. Do not put your livelihood here

    Absolutely terrible. So sad...This bank use to be one one of the best. WHAT HAPPENED!! Automated answer system is worse than the DMV. Never felt like I’ve so much time wasted. Absolutely the worst!! Getting to big definitely not the same bank. Customer service is no different than any of the Mega banks. So so sad.

    Dealing with Coast Hills is such a burden. I could have paid my car out right but my parents convinced to get a car loan to build my credit and it has been the worst thing for my credit. When I'd go in and make my payments I would make my whole payment but they werent telling me that half of my payment was going to a fee so now I have 4 months of incomplete payments on my credit. Also for a few months straight I'd come in to make a payment and they would keep telling me my address was incorrect so when I finally asked to speak to the manager she wasn't very friendly or apologetic about the fact that i was unhappy that I had to keep doing the same thing multiple times and that it made my visit longer. Also they won't help me at the desk they make me use the pods. I once waited 10 minutes because I had the time and there was no line initially and finally when I was able to be helped they turned me away and told me that I am taking time away from their business accounts and card holders and it would make them wait longer so then I had to wait another 5 minutes at the pods. A few times I've had a few nice encounters with employees at the SLO location but now I will be going to the Paso location because they are beyond friendly and they don't have pods so I can actually talk face to face with a person which I like and is the whole reason I pay in person to begin with.
