Did a currency exchange in the beginning of December and they told me that after 7-10 business days the money would go to my account. After the 10 business day I called the branch and they told me that it was after 14 business day. Fast forward to today… they LOST my money… and the branch is closed… I have no way of contacting the branch who did this transaction. Customer Support has now opened an investigation into the matter. I can expect a result maybe by the end January… NOT OKAY !!

Ms. Kim was beyond helpful and sweet to me. I've never rolled coins before and she assisted me in wrapping them up. She was nothing but sweet during the whole process where anyone could have easily been annoyed with me and the amount of loose coins I had. Very appreciated!

    Response from the owner

Kim is a real gem, and we're happy you had a chance to expereince it firsthand. ^TD

I dropped in to open an account, and the staff were helpful in getting everything setup, and answering my questions. At first it wasn't clear who I should talk to, but apart from that, no complaints.

    Response from the owner

Glad our team was able to take good care of ya! Here's to your next visit. ^MS

Let me preface by saying that I haven't spoken to the associates here. This is merely a convenient location with 24hr ATMs. If you're around GCT prior to lobby hours know that the ATM area is open. Obviously this won't apply to many, but there must be a few of us early travelers.

Around August 2019 or September 2019, i submitted my online application, with my resume attached to it, to apply for a full time Administrative Assistant position that was open at a healthcare company called Shining Life Healthcare. Their Administrative Assistant position was posted on LinkedIn. I logged on to Shining Life Healthcare's website to learn more about the company. By Tue Oct 29, I was interviewed by Johnson Robinson, the CEO of Shining Life Healthcare. Believe it or not Johnson Robinson hired me. He sent a $5,000 check to me via regular mail. Johnson told me to deposit the $5,000 check, and then use the money to buy office equipment and software before office space becomes available on Mon Dec 2 2019. I was listening to the radio when i heard Capital One Bank's commercial about how they don't charge any fees and minimums, which made them stand out from other banks, so i opened a checking account with Capital One Bank followed by Andy, the banker from Capital One, assisting me with depositing the $5,000 on Fri Nov 1 around 9-ish in the morning. By 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon, i received an email from Capital One where it said that there's a hold on my checking account, but honestly, i figured that there was some technical glitch and it would be resolved in a few days. But when i came home on a Tuesday night on November 5th, i received another email Capital One which said that they're extending a hold on my checking account because Shining Life Healthcare's bank told them that the $5,000 check might not be paid. At this point, i was confused. But when i told my boss, Johnson Robinson, what's been going on with the $5,000 check, he was nonchalant about the situation as if it was no big deal. In fact, be barely explained himself. That's when i started to feel uncomfortable. By Fri Nov 15 2019, i was on the phone with Andy, the banker from Capital One, when i told him about i tried to discuss the $5,000 check problem with my boss which led to his apathetic attitude, Andy told me to contact the person who wrote the check. I also let Andy know that i received a letter from Capital One Bank where it said that the $5,000 check has been reversed and it also said that my checking account is closed. In fact, the same letter suggested that i contact the person who wrote the check. 10 minutes later, i called back because i just remembered that i had one other question to ask Andy. But it was Paul, the branch manager, who picked up the phone. After i kindly explained to Paul that i just needed to speak to Andy, the Capital One banker, because i forgot to ask him a very important question. Paul said, "Well, whatever the situation is, you can skindly said, "Paul, with all due respect, i wish to speak Andy because he's been assisting me all this time and he knows what's going on more than anyone else", instead of Paul granting my request to speak to Andy, he kept forcing me to talk to him when i didn't want to, when throughout the conversation, i made it clear, more than once, that i wish to speak Andy. The argument between Paul and i lasted for 10 minutes. After the argument ended, i got off the phone. Then, i broke down crying for 15 minutes because when i tried to explain the situation regarding my checking account and the $5,000 check causing problems on it, Paul kept interrupting me, plus he made me feel so much worse about the situation by blaming me, THE VICTIM, for this situation with the $5,000 check. It's not my fault. I had no idea that my boss at the time, who is now my ex-boss, gave me a $5,000 check that turned out to be counterfeit/fraudulent. I never got definitive answers from the woman who wrote the check. I filed a complaint against Paul when i called Capital One's back office with assistance from a woman named Pepper. I emailed Andy to update him on everything that happened, but he never responded. I'm no longer an employee at Shining Life Healthcare. I'll never bank with Capital One again going forward because i wasn't treated with respect although i was a victim of fraud. Sincerely, Sharon :(

NOT THIS BRANCH but there's no website/Google review for Manhattan Ave. C @ 3rd Street Capital1 branch where this happened: So, ONLY @ Ave. C & East 3rd Street branch's where this heppened to me today (11/7/2018, 11:30 A.M.-12:15 ) Today I went into your Manhattan branch at Ave. C + 3rd Ave. in Manhattan to open a Money Market account, etc. Although I'm a Sr. citizen I was kept waiting while a desk representative went to assist at teller lines. Desk staff and "supervisor" kept telling me "Wait a few minutes" but I was there for 45 minutes, waiting, and when I again asked for service, mentioning how long I've been waiting, I was insulted and disrespected by the entire staff...especially the "Supervisor", a loud woman with attitude who said under her breath, "Now I don't want to help ...her... at all!" I'm an elderly grandmother, who cannot sit for a whole hour. After I said, "Never mind", and was exiting, a male bank teller staff member yelled at me as I exited! "Good riddance!" he shouted, waving his arms towards me, a rude "GET OUT!" gesture! I told my family, friends and neighbors of this disrectful, ugly treatment. They said to never be your customers and to surely post this review online, so others will know what to expect at your Ave. C/3rd St. branch...or at any of your branches, since this appears to be your policy (otherwise, why would this abuse to potential customers be so rampart there?) We'll all never (attempt to) use Capital 1 Bank again. I intend to also review it online accordingly, so other people know what kind of insulting, disrespectful treatment they might expect/receive. Finished, A now non-customer local elderly grandmother.

    Response from the owner

Hey Susan - This is certainly not the experience we aim for here. While we understand the waiting game's never fun, comfort and a warm atmosphere are of the utmost importance if there is a queue. Rest assured, we've looped in our branch leadership to ensure your voice is heard. ^AJS

Awful branch. People are rude, completely ignore you to begin until you bother someone to be helped with. The guy with last name "Yee" promised me when opening an account, I could always see him. Since then he has blown me off twice when I came in for help. This time I waited almost an hour, he went to lunch literally without even apologizing for the wait. Unbelievably rude. They also don't do notarizations which every other bank especially in New York usually provides. Now I have fraud issues and the woman helping me is calling a capital one help line. No one knows their job around here. Just awful!!!

    Response from the owner

Thanks for the feedback Cathleen. We are sorry to hear the service you received didn't meet your expectations. We'll get your review in front of our branch leadership.

This location is no longer open but Capital One can’t be bothered to spend 30 seconds updating Google. Thanks for wasting my time walking 30 minutes here.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Cashier lines are short and cashiers are very efficient. Overall, very good branch.
