    Capital Educators credit union is a great credit union, with one exception. The bill pay leaves a lot to be desired. The fact that it takes 10 days or longer to get a check across town to pay a bill is simply unacceptable.

    Cap Ed....the home of "NO" and "WE DON'T DO THAT" Horrible excuse for customer service! Was told account I opened had interest daily compounded....which would lead any logical thinker to believe interest added daily! NOT SO, Watson! Tried to close out substantial MMA account when I relocated out of state (where I might add I "tripled" the interest rate over CapEd's rates)..... but it was in last week of month, and CapEd told me I wouldn't get my $128 interest payment unless I left it until 31st of month when they post dividends. Completely contrary to "accepted banking procedures" since I had previously closed out 5 other accounts....WHICH ADDED DAILY INTEREST to my account before wiring funds. All I ever heard from CapEd employees were "NO"...."WE DON'T DO THAT"....and "I CAN'T DO THAT." To which I replied (in my best Trump voice)----"YOU'RE FIRED!" And a few more "colorful" adjectives I hurled in the heat of the moment. After all, we are talking MY MONEY they lied about when accounts opened....I get upset dealing with multiple layers of indifference and flexible standards. And they still took extra 5 days to get funds "ready to be wired"....and when asked if CapEd would waive $25 wire fee due to all miscommunications on their behalf....well you KNOW THEIR ANSWER....(see above) I lost another $50 in the delay. Think they cared? HahaHa. I have numerous new accounts out of Idaho....and all waived wire transfer fees. And of the prior Idaho banks/credit unions I closed, 4 waived wire transfer fees; the 5th one overnight-ed cashier's check (no charge to me!) So if you truly seek "customer service" and detest hearing "NO" and "WE DON'T DO THAT"....then "run away from the posers at CapEd" where they start relationships with lies and misrepresentations and grow them with total lack of service and zero customer compassion. I had to give 1 star to post this review....or it would've been ZERO! You've been warned, amigo!

    This was a Saturday and this branch was the closest one open to us. I called and I was on hold for 5 minutes, finally was asked what language I spoke by a computer, said English. It rang once someone picked up the phone and immediately hung up. Called again, waited another 5 minutes, finally got through. I asked to speak with a loan officer, the woman on the phone asked what I needed I explained that we were preapproved for a loan at my local branch, that isn't open on Saturdays, and were told if we needed a check before Monday to pay for our boat to call a branch open on Saturday and they could get it for us. The lady said that we would just have to wait til Monday for our local branch. I again asked to speak to a loan officer, she refused and acted like a complete jerk. I hung up on her before I got really mad. My husband tried calling, couldn't get through. He then called CapEds central call center who was super helpful and said we could indeed go to an open branch and get what we needed.

    So.. went in to get a joint account.. Had to sit in line twice to first open account and then second to deposit check.. only to find out, after approx 45 minutes of wasted lifetime - they couldn't deposit my check because of torn numbers on the bottom of the perforated check - which I had just detached at the counter. While the bank teller was polite and kind, not helpful at all.. stating she could check with her manager but likely they couldn't take my check. Took my check to a competitor who was able to tape the check (novel idea) -and take the check- to save me the trouble of a reissue. Sigh, people were nice here- just not streamlined or helpful. So 2 stars for being nice, no more for the lack of consideration or trying to make he customer happy

    First off lovely people. However, they are not helpful at all whatsoever. So the CapEd app has been down for over a month. I asked the manager what was going on with their server if they were doing regular maintenance, got hacked, or something worse. Her response was "The servers are down" I said "How long are they going to be down" and she said "I don't know". She could have transferred me over to someone who does know. Considering she is a manager she should know these things. Disappointing.

    Denied an account today solely based on the fact I had a debt from 3 years ago that is completely paid off! Denial per the branch manager! Wish I never would have spoken highly about these people based on what I had heard, never will again after this experience....

    Not very helpful when it's needed. Borderline impossible to reach them over the phone or website, when you reach them the answer is always: "No" or "We don't do that" They discontinued kids birthday bonus for no reason at all. We opened accounts for kids to teach them about money, so far it was not useful.
