Been a member 30 years, my parents 50+. Ever since the announcement of the change to Canopy from Spokane Federal the service has gone down hill. The 2 times I've happened to deal with Thea on the phone she's rude. She needs another position if she can't figure out to stop talking over the member. We've had our member numbers over 30 years so it's user error if what we tell you the first 3 times "isn't correct". I'll be transitioning to another credit union where I can actually see someone face to face as well. This is disappointing

My grandmother is 83 years old she has been a Spokane federal credit Union member for 65 plus years. It is impossible now for a person in their 80s to come into your facility by themselves and talk to a person face-to-face and make a loan payment. Now I have to take time out of my day and sometimes it's a few times a week to run the computer for her. I have no problem taking time out of my day for my grandmother she may be 83 years old but my grandmother is the most independent woman and this crushes her. It It is all done through computers now and if you don't know how to use a electronic device you have to have a real "person" help you talk to another person on a screen which defeats the whole purpose in the 1st place. The lines are long people are confused inside your building and down the street in the drive-through. The drive-thru is impossible to get through I personally spent 25 minutes in the drive-through trying to make a payment when the person in front of me was trying to get a loan for $30,000 with a person on machine!! I asked the employs if that was even possible to do and they said NO they would have to do it in "person" well how can somebody do it "in person" When your facility doesn't allow that? They force you to use a automated machine! This is a complete joke im 30 years old and a federal credit Union member and I completely hate this I will be finding a new bank and so will my grandmother after 65+ years and I can tell you one thing there are a lot of people that are very unhappy with this automated BS And I have personally spoke to your employees and they do not like it either. If there is one thing I can say good or at least was good about this federal credit Union is all of your employees have been very friendly very helpful and I appreciate every one of them for being kind to me and my grandmother over the years and its to bad you can't talk to them anymore or anyone for that matter. I think the remodel is great, and have no complaints about the service. I would recommend using canopy. I love the updated online platform! Please bring back night drop. My credit score dropped 70 points for missing a payment. I can not physically make the payment based on their hours.

While their interest rates for homes and cars may be low, their return on term accounts is also low; you might as well just buy t bills. Meanwhile, their one step authentication is rather insecure. Every time I enter the branch I hear members speaking their “secure” info to employees; easy to overhear for anyone 10 feet away. I mean cmon, let’s get a keypad for members to punch in their number. Moreover, their credit cards are a nightmare. My card stops working fairly often due to online shopping (eBay etc), only to call the help center, wait on hold for half an hour, and be told that the card is indeed working, when it is surely not, so I just have to go get another replacement card. They frequently close 5-10 mins early, and their lack of physical locations is frustrating, especially amidst the construction. Furthermore, I find myself using STCU’s ATMs all the time, plus the perks at other local credit unions are better on savings accounts, so just save yourself time and stress by choosing a different credit union. On the plus side, my stories don’t compare to the horrors I’ve heard at banner bank and chase, so two stars seems fitting.

I saw someone driving the company vehicle give some food to a homeless man. He got out and talked to him for a while, and even made the guy laugh. The whole thing was super pure and wholesome. Just thought it was cool to see someone take time out of their day to humanize someone who is struggling.

How can they make things harder? That seems to be their mantra. If you don't need anything more than basic checking and savings, they're adequate. Every single thing beyond the most basic of services was made more difficult than necessary. * Their bill pay vendor CHANGED THE BANK INFO for a MORTGAGE PAYMENT, without request or permission. * Their notary told my dad needed to bring two of HIS OWN witnesses for a simple document. * They allowed over $1700 in OBVIOUSLY FRAUDULENT charges. (Obvious because nobody authorizes $1700 for magazine subscriptions or auto services in FLORIDA!!) * They claimed they couldn't accept our legal Power of Attorney forms and tried to make us use / complete theirs. * After my dad passed, I brought in all the documents needed to administer his non-probate estate, including the duly filed will and original COD. When they refused to accept the legal claims of the named executor, we had to spend another 3 months and $3K+ for an attorney to get involved. In the meantime, they cancelled/ returned all of the payments that were sent or scheduled, even before he'd passed. I regret ever helping my dad move to this CU, and even more, I dearly regret not closing his accounts at the first signs of ineptitude.
