Attention military service members and veterans this establishment does not want your business. I walked in and showed my military identification due to my drivers license gets put into question because it is expired with a military extension. Colorado DMV provides military extension of your driver's according to their regulations with a valid military ID or veteran sticker on your driver's license. I would absolutely not recommend stepping foot inside this establishment unless you want to be told your service and government issued ID with military extended colorado issued drivers license is not good enough for their business and be told "I know how to run a pawn shop and have never heard about a military extension." SEMPER FIDELIS
Unfortunately, a pawn loan cannot be made with a military ID - not our rule, but a state law. This individual was a first-time customer with an expired state-issued drivers license that had been expired for many months. His military ID was to expire within 30 days. Yes, there are certain procedures that a person in the military can do to have his expired drivers license extended for up to 3 years (one-time deal) with a current military ID for an active duty service member. He had not done these procedures and was not currently active duty; thus, our hands were tied. We did thank him for his service as we have immediate family members that are active duty. Please know it had nothing to do with "not being good enough", what he was asking us to do was illegal and we were truly unable to assist him with his loan needs. MILITARY LENDING ACT: Although this is a completely different subject, this act became active on October 3, 2016. Many of our competitor pawnshops are declining loans to active service members. We are actively participating in the MLA Lending Act.
